Percival Knocked at the Door

Eulalia looked up. Her eyes, clear as if washed by spring water, reflected Victor's tense face.

"Don't get the wrong idea," he said quickly. "I just noticed your hair's wet. A shower might help you avoid catching a cold, and you'll sleep better tonight."

His rushed explanation reminded her of that idiot Vincent. Eulalia stared absently at Victor's fangs as he spoke.

"I didn't misunderstand anything," Eulalia said with a teasing smile. "But it seems like you've got something on your mind, Mr. Big Shot. You never answered my question from before - why do you blush when you look at me? Have you never been nice to a girl before?"

Victor answered honestly, "Nope, just you."

He used to scoff at the idea of "love at first sight," thinking it was just lust. But from the moment he saw Eulalia at the plane, he suddenly understood what it meant. Love at first sight, a lifetime in one glance. It was as if he'd known Eulalia for ages.
