Erlan's POV

I sat in my office, trying to focus on the pile of files in front of me. However, my mind kept running elsewhere, stuck on Kate and everything that had happened between us lately. Her smile, the way she talked, and the warmth that was starting to grow between us, all made it difficult to concentrate. But behind all that, there was a doubt that slowly crept in. Our relationship had never been simple, and I knew there were invisible boundaries that I had to respect.

While I was lost in those thoughts, my cell phone rang on my desk. The name on the screen made me momentarily stunned—the President and Director of the company, who was none other than Kate's father. I felt something serious was up. Maybe it was about work, or maybe it was something more personal. I took a deep breath and picked up my phone.

"Good afternoon, sir," I greeted politely.
