6. Stay here from now on

Chloe Looked around, subconsciously fidgeting with the bronze ring on her thumb. It was from her mother. No special memory behind, yet it means a lot to her because it's from her mother.

She turned her gaze to the little boy again. He seemed very comfortable beside her as he is playing without any worries.

Just right on the opposite, sitting the cold Duke. Well, evil could be the best word to describe this man. He is staring at the unwanted guest. Well, mostly at the scene, where his only son is leaning toward her and playing with his blocks.

As a father, his heart screamed happily at this situation, but as a man, Alex is ridiculously annoyed! Why her!? Why it has to be this woman Leonor reacted to!?

All he wanted to do is throw out this woman from his place. He does not want any sort of wife in his life! Especially, when his grandfather is forcing one on him! He was even successful, however, his son decided to betray him at such a crucial time!

"Why did you return?" Alex asked the first question after a long while.

Chloe pursed her lips before making eye contact with him. She kind of realised one thing that this little boy has some power over the Duke.

It was very surprising, how he actually let her in the mansion just with one look at his son! That explained a lot to Chloe. Now, she has no other choice but to use this little boy to stay here.

She was a little guilty to do that, yet no other choice left for her.

"I almost walked out, but then your grandfather called and asked me to enter again..." She replied honestly. "I am here because he wanted me here."

Alex frowned. His cold gaze sharpened. "You are here because HE wanted you here." He pointed at Leonor, enhancing the 'HE' word.

Chloe already knows it and nodded, accepting willingly without any argument. Her Unargumentative nod made his sour heart a little satisfied as he leaned back on the sofa. Still unable to believe how his son reacted to this woman.

"What did you do to him?" Alexander's next question fall and Chloe blinked. Kind of startled at the question.

What on earth could she even do!? Is this man somewhat stupid along with being evil?

"What could I possibly do?" She asked, baffled. "I just saved him from being fallen in the pool."

And that's what made Alex confused. He did not let go of any psychiatrists that crossed his path in the last three years for his son, including other doctors. But no medical situation worked for him.

Most of the doctors gave up and some said it would take time for him to react. And three years later, he finally did. Not only did he react, Leonor even called him 'mama'! A very rare from his less spoken life!

Alex was dubious about whether to keep this woman or not. One last experiment and he would make his final decision.

He looked up at Daniel, who was standing beside his sofa. and with a nod, Daniel left. He returned with a young woman, dressed in black a few seconds later.

She was the nanny Alex hired a week ago. It had always been like this. No nanny could stay over a week. Only one did last for ten days.

Some were fired Because they tried to get close to Alex. And some were simply ignorant of their works. If it has to be upon Leonor's disliking, then all should have been fired by the day they joined!

Alex glared at her coldly as she kept her head lowered. "Try to hold him." He ordered and the woman blinked in confusion.

A bit surprised she is. It was the number one rule to be with Leonor Rossi. No matter what, he cannot be touched. But now, his father is asking to do that?

She gulped and slowly walked toward him with a little hope in her heart. Leonor was busy with his colourful blocks leisurely. However, the moment his nanny bend to touch him, his sense awakened and he throw a piece of a block at her forehead.

The woman groaned and backed up. Leonor right away turned himself to Chloe and almost hide himself in her arms.

Chloe on the other hand was shocked. She did not realise that this little child could act so violently! But, it did not stop her from securing him tightly in her arms.

It was always expected from this little guy. His act of defence was not new for others, excluding Chloe. But, the way he curled his little body in Chloe has raised lots of hopes and questions at the same time.

Alex gestured to take away the nanny. Her time has ended here whether Chloe stays or not.

Watching the interaction between those two, it felt like their relationship is destined from the beginning. If he didn't know Leonor's mother, he would have mistaken Chloe as his mother.

"You will stay here from now on," Alex spoke, earning Chloe's attention. She was relieved hearing his announcement. "Daniel will explain your limitations." His cold words were very clearly instructed. And Chloe did not expect anything less than that.

He was already eager to kick her out of home. It was her luck that decided to work for her finally. And that's enough for her!

Alex stood up and once eyeing his son's unusual behaviour, which somewhat relieved him too, he walked away, leaving Daniel, Chloe and Leonor in the huge hall of the living room.

Chloe watched him go away as her mind finally calmed down after all the stress of the day. She really needs to do this well and stay here for one year no matter what!

Caressing his little back, she holds Leonor close to her heart. No matter how she tries to ignore it, whenever this little guy comes close to her, her heart clenched for her own baby that she lost while giving birth.

Yes, her own baby. An act of impulsive deeds that has thrown her into false accusations, she never committed. And the result was her pregnancy.

She heard tons of negative comments and was called names, yet she ignored all of it only for that little hope of hers. But one night, she lost her that last hope of light too.

Her child died while giving birth. Chloe cried for months but what's gone is gone. That would never come back. And now, when she looks at this little fellow in her arms, he reminds her of that cruel night.

Her empty heart finally has a few drops of water to breathe again. How could she not grab this chance to live? Maybe, not with the love of the husband but with the love of the child.
