“Granddaughter-in-law.”
Rose’s eyes widened in shock, and she turned around. She saw a woman in her late sixties.
Rose scrunched her face in confusion when she heard the granddaughter-in-law.
She turned around to be sure that the old woman was talking to her when she didn't see anyone in the park except her. She was sure that the woman was talking to her.
“Ma……. Are you talking to me?”
“Of course it's you. You are my granddaughter-in-law. I have been asking Aiden about you. Why did you leave this old woman?”
The woman looked like she was on the verge of tears, but Sophia didn't know what to do. After all, she wasn't married.
She was about to console the woman when she heard voices shouting,
“Madam Henderson!!!!!! Madam Henderson!!!!!!.
Rose looked at the old woman, who was still looking at her with soft eyes. Rose felt moved because nobody had ever looked at her with that kind of eye ever since her mother died.
“Madam Hemsworth!!!!!!” Rose heard the voice again; she turned to the woman and asked, “Are you the madam Hemsworth they are talking about?”
“Yes, but I don't want to go back. After all, I just found you now, my granddaughter-in-law.”
Rose ignored the last part of the statement and asked, “Why don't you want to go back?”
“Humph, is it not because of my grandson? He wanted to take me to that place that smells bad, and someone wearing white will give me bad-smelling white pills.”
“A place where they give you smelling pills?”
“Yes, it's called... Hmm, I have forgotten what it's called again.”
“Hospital?”
“Yes, that's what it's called. I have told him countless times that I am not sick, but he always insists that I go there.”
Rose then saw the problem and thought, “So she has dementia.”
She brought forth her hand and looked at the woman, “But you are making your grandson worry. And you wouldn't like that, right?”
The old woman looked at Rose and shook her head and said, “I don't like making him worry, but I don't want to go to the hospital.”
“Then, I will talk to him for you, and if you go to the hospital, I will be with you.”
“You will stay with me?”Rose nodded.
“I knew my granddaughter-in-law would be the kindest.”
The woman then held Rose's hand. When Rose was about to walk with the woman and look for the grandson, she felt a cold metal at the back of her head.
“What are you doing with my grandmother?” A voice said from the back of her head. Rose shivered and slowly turned back.
What she saw first was a pair of piercing black eyes looking at her and a gun at her forehead.
“Aiden, what are you holding a gun to your wife?”
“Wife? Grandmother, how many times will I tell you not to walk alone without your guards?”
“Yes, she is my granddaughter-in-law, and why should I carry them when I am still angry with you?”
“I am sorry to interrupt you two, but can you please take the gun away from my head?" It's really scary.” Rose said, interrupting because of both the woman and her grandson.
“Yes, Aiden. Remove that gun away from her head. I was the one who met her, and she was taking me to meet you.”
The man removed the gun from Rose's head and apologized. “I am sorry for doubting you. I hope you can forgive me.”
That's when Rose got a closer look at the man who was held at gunpoint earlier, and she gasped.
“Isn't that Aiden Hemsworth? I should have known better when I heard the guards calling the old woman Madam Hemsworth”. Rose thought.
Of course, Rose knows Aiden, the CEO of MJ Entertainment Company. After all, Ethan has an unhealthy rivalry with him, though she thinks it's one-sided.
Aiden looked at the woman who was still staring at her and cleared his thoughts. Rose snapped back to life and quickly apologized, “I am sorry. I was lost in thought.”
“Don't worry, I am grateful for you finding my grandma and keeping her company.” He handed her a business card and said, "If you need anything for your help, please contact the number on the card, and I will make sure that you are compensated. Then, goodbye."
Aiden wanted to hold his grandma's hand and drag her to the car that was already waiting, but Grandma slapped his hand away.
“What do you mean by we are going? Are we going to leave your wife here alone?" Mrs. Hemsworth said, glaring at him while crossing her hand across her chest.
“Just so you know, I am not going to that place without my granddaughter-in-law." Aiden sighed while looking at his grandma tiredly. He turned to Rose and asked, “May I trouble Miss..." “Rose.” She helped him by telling him her name.
“Yes, Miss Rose, to just indulge in my grandma's whims for this last time.”
Rose nodded; after all, it was not like she was doing anything at this moment, and she needed this distraction. She turned to Mrs. Hemsworth and said, “Grandma, who said I am not going with you? Can we go now?
Mrs. Hemsworth eagerly nodded her hand, grabbed Rose's hand, and dragged her to the car. Aiden sighed again while rubbing the crease that was already forming on his brows. He nodded to the bodyguard he was with, and the men entered their respective cars.
Aiden then walked to the car and was about to sit in the front seat but saw his grandma instead. He was surprised; he thought his grandma would be staying with Rose. His grandma noticed his confusion and gestured to him to come closer, and she whispered, “I left you the seat beside your wife; you can thank me later.” She then winked at him at the end of her statement.
Aiden was lost for words but resigned to his fate and went to the back seat. The car then started moving.
In less than 5 minutes, they were already in the hospital. Rose helped Mrs. Hemsworth to the hospital. Mrs. Hemsworth was scheduled for a checkup.
"Granddaughter-in-law, can you wait for me in the reception room? I will make sure to be fast with the checkup, and in the meantime, you can catch up with my grandson.” She then left Aiden and Rose in the reception room and went into the room for her checkup.
Aiden and Rose were in the reception room, and there was an awkward silence between them until Aiden cleared his throat and said, “Once again, thank you for indulging in my grandma's whims. I am truly grateful. As you can see, my grandma has dementia. That's why she usually has problems with identifying people.”
Rose shook her head immediately and said, “It's no problem. I am comfortable with her.”
As they sat in the reception room, Rose couldn't help but notice the curious glances she got from the nurses. They whispered to each other, their eyes darting towards Rose and Aiden. There was tension in the room, and Rose felt something was wrong, and she was right when she heard the conversation the nurses were having.
“Isn't that Rose, the shameless homewrecker?” A petite woman glanced at Rose with a disgusted look.
“Don't tell me, she is here to seduce another man.” Another nurse said.
“It looks like she succeeded; what is Mr. Aiden doing besides her?”
“Truly shameless; it looks like she wants to become famous. From Mr. Ethan to Mr. Aiden.”
The mummers of the nurses nearby flowed into Rose and Aiden's ears.
That's why her face looked familiar to me. Aiden thought and looked at Rose, who was trembling and biting her lips. She kept on clenching and unclenching her fists; her eyes were blurry, but she kept on fighting to keep her tears away. She didn't want to give those women the satisfaction of seeing her tears.
The mummers continued, and she couldn't take it anymore; she stood up and said to Aiden, “Please excuse me.” While walking away hurriedly from the room.
“Mr. Aiden, are you all right? Was that girl harassing you? One of the gossipers said to Aiden. Aiden just looked at her with disdainful eyes and left for the area where Rose was.
He saw Rose sitting on the bench outside the hospital, tears flowing down her cheeks and was holding the hems of her skirt tightly.
“Miss Rose, are you alright? Rose heard a voice beside her and looked at Aiden, who was holding a handkerchief towards her. She refused the handkerchief and stared at him for up to 30 seconds and finally said, “Mr Aiden, that help you promised to give to me for helping your grandma, is it still available?
Aiden looked at Rose, his eyes widening in astonishment and his eyebrows raised. He thought this naive lady wouldn't cash in on his favor.
“Of course, Miss Rose. It's still available.”
“Good, then I want to use it.”
“Okay, just say what you want, and I'll do it to the best of my abilities.”
Rose closed her eyes and inhaled and exhaled deeply. When she opened her eyes back, a glint of determination flashed in it.
“Then, Mr. Aiden. I want you to marry me.”
“Mr. Aiden, will you marry me?Aiden's eyes widened in shock, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise. His face froze, his lips parting slightly as if he was about to speak, but no words came out. His gaze locked onto Rose's, his eyes searching hers for any sign of jest.As the shock began to wear off, a mixture of emotions flitted across his face: confusion, curiosity, and a hint of intrigue. His eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze intensifying as he studied Rose's determined expression. He chuckled slightly and asked, “Why? “I have a proposal for you, and it will benefit both you and me,” Rose said, still looking determined to get what she wanted.Aiden's eyebrows scrunched up in surprise, and he said, “What proposal?“Marry me for just 2 years, and I will help you destroy Ethan's company. I will also make your company more profitable.” When Ethan used to complain about Aiden to her, she had read all the articles and news concerning him.
