Their car had just pulled up outside their home. It wasn't even properly parked yet when Bailey ran toward it and waited beside it. The dog kept wagging its tail in excitement.

A low whimper escaped its throat.

Warren got out of the car and crouched down to ruffle Bailey's fur for a bit. He ordered, "Stay away from your mom. There are germs on your fur, and that is not good for the baby."

Bailey was upset and barked at Warren twice. However, it still retreated a few steps obediently.

When Bailey saw Warren helping Evelyn out of the car, it barked at Evelyn.

However, it remained in the same spot and never took a step forward.

Evelyn waved at Bailey and said, "Come here, Bailey. Don't listen to your dad. Come play with me."

Hearing her summons, Bailey ran toward Evelyn quickly. It circled her a few times before resting by her feet and whimpering.

Evelyn caressed its fur and smiled. She said, "I miss you so much, but I can't hug you now. I'll do that after I give birth to the bab
