Ethan frowned at Jazzie and said, "Why are you crying instead of Evelyn if her partner is the one who is in a vegetative state? Everyone might assume that the two of you are having an affair if you do so."

His voice brimmed with jealousy when he said that.

Those words made Jazzie so angry that she couldn't help kicking him again. She complained, "Ethan Xavier, will it kill you to shut up? Why must you say such infuriating words? In fact, how are you still alive? Why hasn't someone killed you in a fit of anger yet?"

Ethan grinned mischievously and replied, "If I die, no one will be around to piss you off. Won't that break your heart?"

Jazzie nearly fainted from anger.

She felt as though the two of them were destined to be enemies.

She glared at Ethan and then smiled nonchalantly. After that, she said, "I'm not a fool, so why would I ever be heartbroken for you?"

As soon as she finished saying that, she made her way to Evelyn's side. Holding Evelyn's hand, Jazzie promised, "Don't
