JOJO'S POV

My smile grows wider as Jeremy groans and I blink away the speck that landed on my eyelash.

I see Katrina in his arms and my throat dries up.

I clear my throat and jerk my head, “Come on, I think I found a way out of here.”

I grab his hand and we start booking it to the foyer when a fresh batch of soldiers march in from the opposite direction and Jeremy tugs me out of the way just in time.

“Your plan is through the front porch?” He asks with a bewildered expression.

I shrug, “It worked before.”

“That was before your solo mission became a two-and-a-half men mission and—” I press my forefinger to his lips, effectively cutting off his tirade.

“Thank you,” I whisper and give him a soft kiss on the cheek.

“For what?” His voice drifts like he's in a daze.

“For finding her.”

His brows furrow and I want to smoothen them out, “Who?”

“Katrina.”

His frown goes deeper, “But I couldn't find her. I saw this one—he nudges Katrina's sleeping form—walking straight to her d
