Chapter 4

Calista’s eyes keep on staring at Vladimir, who is walking toward the theater room. He looks so elegant. His body shape looks perfect in his black suit.

The man who worked in the theater and was standing by the door seemed to know Vladimir very well. He gave him a polite smile while bowing politely and letting him into the room.

Two tall, pale men in black robes who were with Vladimir in this room then followed him into the theater room. It terrified her to see their scary faces.

“Calista, what are you looking at?”

Calista turned to her left in startled when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She saw Alice was sitting beside her, looking at her face curiously. She couldn't open her mouth to speak and could only stare at Alice in silence.

Alice was even more curious to see her like that. She suddenly felt worried as she held her hand. “Are you okay? Why are your hands so cold?” she asked.

“I-I’m fine. It’s just cold in here,” Calista said, trying to hide how she felt.

“Let’s go to the bar, then. It’s warmer up there. I don’t want you to get sick,” Alice said.

Calista nodded at her while trying to smile. Alice smiled back at her, then they stood up from their chairs and walked to the bar.

Calista chose not to tell Alice what had happened to her. She wanted to keep it in her heart and make it her secret.

Opera performances have begun. Alice and Calista sat in the chairs at the back. Their seats are in the dress circle. They both so excited to see the show.

The show was splendid, and the song was beautiful, but same time it sounded sad. The show told the story of a beautiful woman who would rather have died than be separated from the man she loved the most.

Calista's heart grieved when she saw the woman kill herself. She could feel her sadness, her pain, and her despair. Tears rolled down her cheeks, as she could no longer hold back her sadness.

She wiped her tears and looked around, hoping no one saw her shedding tears. Her heart suddenly beat fast as she looked up at the box on the top floor. She saw Vladimir sitting there alone, staring at her with his sad eyes.

She immediately turned her gaze to look at the show. She tried to control her feelings, but she couldn't. She felt her cheeks burning while her body felt cold. She was so nervous, but at the same time, she was so happy to see him again.

She wondered if he was still staring at her, then she braved herself to glance at him. Her heart almost burst when their eyes met, and he gave her a gentle smile. She quickly looks back at the show while breathing nervously. She couldn't look at him anymore. Her heart would stop beating if she saw his handsome smile again.

Alice, who was sitting on her left, didn’t pay attention to her, because she focused on watching the show.

During the show, Calista felt her body paralyzed. Her eyes were on the show, but her mind was on Vladimir. He has hypnotized her with his charm and made her unable to get him out of her mind even for a second.

The show was almost over. Calista then braced herself to look at Vladimir again. Sadness suddenly gripped her firmly as she saw that the box was empty. He wasn’t there anymore.

“Where did he go?” she asked in her mind. She looked around the room to find him, but he wasn’t there either.

She then put her right hand close to her heart. She could feel her heart was crying sadly and begging to see him again.

The show was over and everyone came out of the theater room. Alice and Calista were walking towards the exit of this building.

“The show was amazing! I loved it! I couldn’t even move my eyes. I was so keen on watching,” Alice said.

Calista tried to smile at her. She didn’t focus on watching the show because her brain was busy thinking about Vladimir.

“Miss Calista! Please wait!”

They stopped their steps and turned around. They saw a middle-aged woman rushing towards them, holding a white rose in her hand.

Calista remembers her face. She was an employee working in this theater as a ticket taker who met her before.

“Miss Calista, this is for you,” she said, holding out the flower to her.

Calista took the flower from her hand, feeling confused and curious. “Thank you. I’m sorry, If I may, why did you give this flower to me?” she asked.

“This flower is not from me. He told me to give it to you.” The woman smiled at her and left, having said that.

“Calista, this is your favorite flower, right? Who gave this to you? Do you know who that man is?” Alice asked while staring at her.

Calista didn’t know how to answer her question, so she just smiled at her. She was so happy because she knew who gave the flower to her. Vladimir, the owner of her heart.

Calista opened her eyes when she felt a cold soft hand caress her cheek as cold air wrapped around her body from the open window of her bedroom.

Her heart suddenly beat fast as she saw Vladimir who was sitting on the bed beside her, staring intimately into her eyes.

“Vladimir? How did you get here? How did you know where I live?” she asked with nervous in her voice.

“I have already told you, I would see you again,” he said in a soft whisper.

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing and hearing. “No! This isn’t real. This must be a dream. I keep thinking about him, so I am dreaming of him,” she said in her mind.

He smiled gently at her and brought his face close to hers. The dim light from the garden lamp in front of the open window illuminated them. She could see his handsome face, his flawless white skin, his beautiful silver eyes, and she could smell the white rose scent coming from his body.

Her heart was beating uncontrollably as she kept telling herself not to forget to breathe.

“If this is your dream, then you don’t need to be shy of me. You can do whatever you want. ”

She fell silent after hearing what he said. “That’s right! I don’t have to be like this. This is my dream. He won’t know what I’m doing. I can do whatever I want,” she told herself.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her rapid heartbeat. Then she raised her hand to hold his cheek.

“Why your cheek feel so cold?” she asked, curious.

“You can make me warm then,” he replied in a soft voice.

Her cheeks suddenly burned as she breathed nervously. She tried to calm her nervousness, and then she touched his lips, caressing them gently. She bit her lip, looking shyly into his eyes. “I-I’ve never kissed before. Can I kiss you now?” she asked.

His soft eyes kept staring into her eyes. He then moved his gaze slowly to her lips. He tucked his hand behind her neck and pressed his lips to hers.
