Chapter 36: Sofie

I stood there, still in shock. She looked so real; it was June, the only difference being her hair color. I could see the shock in her eyes too.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, and I felt totally disappointed and sad. Her question broke my heart into a thousand pieces. All my life, I had hoped June wasn't dead. Then suddenly, I saw her, and instead of running to give me a hug, she ended up asking the most painful question on earth.

"How did it happen? We thought you were dead," I said, ignoring her question. I couldn't care less whether she missed me or not; I ran to where she was and hugged her tightly, the cold water splashing on my body and wetting my clothes, but I couldn't care less. June was right in front of me again. I cried in her arms, and I could hear silent sobbing coming from her too.
