Five hours earlier,

Jeff paced around in front of his black van, and Richard stood in front of the van.

There were five other vans that had accompanied them to Surfside City. They were parked in a small alleyway.

Her exact location was deduced to be within a five-mile radius from here.

Richard suggested that they observe the area from a distance for the night, in case Chloe was in any danger, lest they put her in harm’s way, and Jeff agreed.

“Sir, we're eagerly waiting for your order.”

He didn't want them to just barge in when they hadn't gauged the situation; otherwise, they risk putting her in danger.

“Good. Don't forget the instruction; kill anyone that appears to pose a threat to her on sight.”

“Yes, sire,” they echoed.

His heart raced. Was he really going to meet Chloe?
