6. Last Try.

Lily's POV:

A hot slap landed on my cheek and I heard a ringing sound before I stumbled dangerously backward until my back came to a halt after hitting the wall.

"You little pig," Diana yelled at me with a grimace on her face," how dare you tell your father that I stole from him?" She huffed and puffed with a red face. I swallowed nervously while I held back the tears from spewing out of my eyes.

"I didn't tell Dad that you stole from him but rather the books were not balancing when I went through them," I stuttered faintly while I dared not to look at her.

"Lies, you think I don't know what you are trying to do," she spat while cornering me in the kitchen pantry, I cradled my belly protectively because I didn't want her hitting me in my stomach like she did three weeks prior because I mistakenly burnt her dress when I was ironing it for her.

"I swear upon my babies, I never mentioned anything about you stealing," my lips quivered while she stepped in my face.

"Lily or whatever your dead mother named you, if you want to live peacefully in my house, don't lie about me or else I will make sure your father hates you like he did before you left two years ago, do you understand?" she narrowed her eyes at me with clenched jaws, my breathing increased.

"Yes Diana, " I nodded and she sneered before walking out, leaving me sobbing silently in the kitchen.

Oh mom, why did you have to leave me alone!!! Tears trickled down my face uncontrollably, I sat on the cold tiled floor, wishing to follow my dead mother to her grave...

It had been two months of never-ending torment from Diana and Brie since I arrived home and I was beginning to get sick of it but where else would I go with my six-month huge pregnancy?

Oh God, what shall I do? I sighed heavily while my lips trembled.

In the past months, I have stayed with my family, I had contemplated on numerous occasions going to Sue's house back in the city but even so, she was having a tough time as Mr Anderson put her on probation because of some official scandal that took place at the office which left her on half salary and I didn't want to burden her with my self inflicted problem.

I swallowed, but a lump filled my throat as more tears trickled down my face.

What was I going to do because telling Dad about the abuses Diana subjected me had in the past bridged a gap in-between us a few years ago and that's why I left home for the big city.

I sighed heavily while my lips trembled.

Oh God, are you punishing me for getting pregnant before marriage??? I sniffed deeply when Sonia peeped into the pantry.

"Miss Lily, are you okay?" She asked in a soft tone. I nodded while rubbing my tears away.

"Here, get up from the cold floor," she reached out for my hand and pulled me up to my feet.

"Thank you," I said while looking at the floor.

"Don't mention it, just go and rest, I will finish up in here" She tried to get rid of me from the kitchen but I didn't want to leave just yet in fear of dad seeing me in this state.

"Please give me a glass of water," I cooked up an excuse to stay longer while I composed myself from the heated confrontation with Diana.

Sonia grabbed a cup and filled it with tap water before handing it to me. I drank the water slowly.

Suddenly my cell phone buzzed loudly from the kitchen counter where I had placed it, I swiftly picked it up and saw the caller ID.

I smiled before answering my call.

"Hey Sue, miss me already?" I sniffed.

"Of course, I do miss you bestie. Don't you?." She responded in a cheerful voice and my heart swelled with happiness.

"Oh Sue, I miss you and the city," I sniffed deeply while rubbing tears that welled up in my eyes. I walked outside the house for privacy.

"But why do you sound like you are crying?" She asked in a concerned tone and before I could respond to her, she answered herself.

"It's that witch Diana again, isn't it?" I could hear her huff and puff, I forced a smile.

"No, it's not her," a tear trickled down my face, and I rubbed it off quickly.

"Lily, don't pretend as if I don't know you," she scoffed and more tears trickled down my face.

"Oh Sue, I don't know what is wrong with this woman, but she keeps hitting me, I'm afraid I might go into labor before my time," I blurted out without a care about who was going to hear me because I was tired. Tired of being beaten for no good reason at my age.

I heard her sigh heavily before she spoke,

" What about Blake, have you thought of going back to him and telling him about his children?" She asked and my heart constricted just her mentioning his name.

You see I hated Blake so much because he was the reason why I was here suffering and to be honest I resented him even more when I saw him with the blondie cozying up to each other when I last attempted to tell him the new development because of our drunken wild sexcapade.

I sighed softly," please don't talk about him," I hissed and heard Sue scoff on the other end of the call.

"Lily whether you like it or not, Blake is the father of your children and it's high time he helped you out," she insisted but I refused…

Why should I be the one begging for him to support his children when the time I tried to tell him he gibberishly rejected me as if I wanted to be his wife?

I exhaled slowly.

"I'm sorry Sue, but I won't go to that creepy town alone," I said.

"Yes, you will and I'm sending you transportation money right now," I heard my phone chime, I looked at it and Sue had transferred 500$ into my account.

I gasped at how serious she was about me visiting a man who had rejected me in her presence.

"But Sue?"

"No buts Lily. Go to that town and tell that jackass to take responsibility for his actions," she said and before I could interject to her demand, she hung up and I sighed heavily while looking at my bank account balance - 509$.

Maybe I should just go treat myself out and lie to Sue that I went to see that douchebag and he rejected me again.

Yes, I will do just that. I smiled content with my decision when suddenly my phone chimed with a text from Sue.

Don't use that money for your personal use!!! Go see your baby daddy and tell him the truth this time…Because if you don't go, I will come there and drag you to Blake's mansion myself.

What the heck?

My heart skipped a beat at her threat because I knew Sue was crazy enough to go through with her threat. I looked at the time on my phone and it was 11 am. I knew I could still catch a train that was going there at 11:30 a.m.

I rushed inside, grabbed my coat because it was a bit chilly out, and went to my father's room to tell him about my little trip.

"Hey Dad, how are you feeling?" I found him sleeping in his bed. I sat down on the bed next to him

"Hey cupcake," he looked up at me with bleak eyes. " I'm good and you, how are you feeling today?" He rubbed my belly and his face lit up because for some reason, whenever he saw me, he would always rub my belly and immediately smile.

"I'm good Dad, but I want to go see a friend who can help me get a new job," I lied about my trip and he sighed heavily.

"I still don't understand why you won't just work in our store…anyway, I won't force you. Be safe and see you when you get back," he reached out for my cheek and stroked it gently, I smiled.

"See you later," I leaned in as much as my belly could allow, kissed his forehead, and left to go see my baby daddy I got entangled with.

Hours later, I arrived at the creepy Blood Moon town and got off the train. A cold shiver ran down my spine while a cold wind lightly brushed against my skin.

I heaved a sigh. This was it…

The last try I was going to reach out to Blake.

I walked into his dreadful town and once again, I was received with the same unwelcoming eyes, I wrapped my arms around me while I looked over my shoulder.

This town was just weird and I hated the vibe it gave out. Suddenly without warning, I bumped into an old woman.

"Oh, excuse me," I said instantly and she smiled with two different coloured eyes. My heart skipped a beat.

"Are you lost, little human girl?" She asked while scanning me from head to toe.

Wait what? Did she call me a little girl? I frowned slightly.

"No, actually, I'm looking for Blake Smith," I stuttered faintly and her body jerked slightly upon hearing his name.

She murmured something inaudible with a fearful face and my frown deepened.

What was she talking about?

"Anyway do you know where I can find him?" I stared at her and she looked towards his mansion.

"He is there, if not try the pack house," she said and my frown turned to a scowl because this woman wanted me to go to the very mansion where I was taken advantage of and impregnated… Like why the fuck didn't Blake even use a condom in the first place?

I gritted my teeth and then the word 'pack house' rang in my head.

Was this town some kind of cult? I turned to look at the woman but she was gone.

Okay, that was definitely strange, I shrugged and continued strolling in the strange town.

Where are you hiding baby daddy??? I wandered a few meters and then I saw him with yet another elegant young redhead hugging and she was giggling like he had said something amusing into her ear.

My heart shattered into a million pieces once again, and tears instantly trickled down my face as I couldn't hold myself back.

So this guy was just a womanizer! My heart sank into my guts while I sniffed.

How did I even get lured by his useless ass? I turned around to walk away and that's when he called to me.

"Lily?" My body froze while my knees grew weak.

Fuck!

Should I just walk away and pretend I didn't hear him? I tried to take a step forward but for some reason, my legs decided to have a mind of their own and stood still in one position.

I swallowed nervously while I fidgeted with my fingers.

Blake swiftly made his way in front of my face and damn did he look hot in his black-in-black outfit. I swallowed slowly.

"Hi Lily," his face looked happy to see me for a moment and then his eyes dropped to my huge belly most people mistook for an 8-9 month-old pregnancy.

"Hey," I looked away from his smouldering stare.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, still scrutinizing my huge belly. I wrapped my arms around myself, feeling very uncomfortable by his stare.

Tell him now! My heartbeat increased while I tried to calm my breathing.

Oh god, here goes nothing…

"Umh," I fumbled with my words when suddenly the beautiful redhead decided to disrupt us by walking to us.

"Blake," she called to him in a seductive voice and went to stand right next to him. "Who is she?" She pouted her lips. My eyes widened with disbelief.

Wow! Was this really happening in front of my face?

"She is none of your business," Blake shrugged her off but she kept hold of his arm.

OMG, she is so clingy.

"Uh, what were you saying?" He flinched his sexy face while gesturing to my stomach and the redhead stared down at me, I felt intimidated once again, I got tongue tied.

"I was saying nothing, please excuse me," I began walking towards the train station when Blake suddenly got hold of my hand. Sparks between us ignited and for a brief moment, I forgot how much I hated him and kind of wanted him all to myself.

"Lily, please wait" I turned around to face him, and his longing eyes were piercing through my soul my heartbeat increased.

I swallowed hard while my senses came back to me. " Blake, please let me go, it was a mistake coming here," I said and walked away, never looking back because what good was it hoping to find solace in the arms of a womanizer?
