HANNAH
"Did you stab my son?" Alpha Dawson asked in a mild voice, but his eyes told a different story. They burned and blazed and promised the worst kind of punishment for me. He was an intimidating man under the best of conditions, but right now, he looked downright frightening. I looked up at him from my place on my knees, with the tears streaming down my cheeks, his very muscled hands clenching and unclenching on the armrests of the chair he sat on as though he was resisting the urge to wrap them around my neck. The guards had forced me onto my knees before him, but though their hands weren't on me anymore, I couldn't have moved an inch even if I wanted to. I was petrified, frozen to the spot. My life could end at any moment if the Alpha so willed it. Attacking his son was tantamount to attacking him. I opened my mouth but could manage only a sigh. Somehow, my words got lost between my head and my mouth. All too well, I recalled my father being in this same position I was in while he stood trial for the attempted murder of the Alpha, a crime I was sure he did not commit. Now I was here, before the very same man, accused of almost the same thing. "I repeat, did you stab my son, Asher?" he said again. I started to nod, then shook my head. "Yes," I squeaked. "I mean no-" "Yes and no?" "I did it, but I didn't mean to do it. I did it in self-defense." And because he looked like he thought I was talking gibberish, I had to tell him the whole truth. "Asher's friends were about to rape me in the woods at school. He- he told them to. They were about to do it, and I just had to defend myself; that was the only way I knew. All I wanted was for them to stop. I really didn't mean to hurt anyone." The second I had finished speaking, I knew I had made a terrible mistake by telling him exactly what happened. He looked murderous. I could not suppress a shudder. I had not thought he could be angrier than he already was. Through gritted teeth, he said, "You have the nerve to accuse my son of rape?" There was nothing for it but to go on with what I had said. "Alpha, it's the truth. I-" "Shut up!" he ordered. "One more sound out of you, and you'll never speak again. I'll cut out your lying tongue." He stared at me for a long, long moment. I clapped my hand to my lips to keep the frightened whimpers in. "I know exactly what is going on here. You and your family are a bunch of traitors, traitors hell-bent on destroying the pack. Your traitor father failed to kill me. He failed. He told you to finish his work." "No..." "And now... now you took it upon yourself to kill my son instead with some trumped-up talk about rape!" My tears fell harder and faster. I shook my head vehemently, trying to convey the fact that I had no such intentions. The Alpha straightened and nodded to one of the guards standing in the room's corner. The guard immediately stepped forward. Without once taking his eyes off me, the Alpha ordered him to call Asher. “Tell him to get here as soon as possible. I have the little rat that stabbed him.” The guard ran off immediately to find Asher. Though Asher entered the room very quietly, I knew the moment he came in. It felt like the hate in the room intensified a hundred times. "Son, come forward," the Alpha said. Asher obeyed, clutching his shoulder. Surely, I hadn't stabbed him that hard. "She's the one who stabbed you, isn't she?" "She is," Asher replied. I didn't think such a bully would run to his father like a baby, but he proved me wrong. The Alpha nodded. "I was about to punish her, but I thought it best that you, the one most affected by the actions of this thing-" He favoured me with a scathing look before turning to his son. "-you should be the one to decide her punishment. Tell me, son. What kind of punishment do you want for her?" Asher's lips twitched at the corners as he struggled not to smile. The seconds ticked past as he pondered the question. He deliberately drew the moment out so I would squirm, and he succeeded. My mind reeled with thoughts of all forms of sadistic punishments he would have in store for me. "I want her to be my servant in school," he finally said. "There, she has to attend to my every need and do whatever I ask her to... without hesitation." The Alpha nodded once in a satisfied manner. "You heard him, girl. I personally wouldn't have chosen such an easy punishment for you. The price for laying your worthless hands on my son should have banishment or... execution." He paused to let that sink in. I had a sudden horrible vision of my head leaving my shoulders. I shuddered again. "Yes. You are right to be afraid. But since Asher has already decided your fate, you must do as he asks. Without hesitation. Remember that part. What do you have to say for yourself, girl?" "Thank you. Thank you, Alpha," I said between sobs. "Show your appreciation properly," he barked. "Bow. Now." I quickly bowed with my forehead touching the floor. "Thank you, Alpha." "We need to put you to work immediately. There is really no need to wait for school hours to begin your punishment." Asher nodded in agreement. "Guards!" I raised my head in time to see two guards appear at the Alpha's side. "Take her to the pig pen. It needs cleaning up." At a signal from the Alpha, the guards grabbed me and dragged me out of the room even though I had no intentions of putting up a resistance. I was dragged through the house, across the courtyard, and to where animals were kept. One guard let me go long enough to open the door of the pig pen, and then I was thrown into it. I landed painfully on my arm. The pigs squealed at my intrusion and trotted to the far side of the pen. I slowly sat up when the searing pain in my shoulder subsided a bit. I looked down at myself. I hurt all over, my shoulder especially. The animal's poop stained my clothes and my hair. I wrinkled my nose. The smell made me want to throw up, but I had nothing in my stomach. I fought down my gorge and carefully got up on one foot. My other foot hurt. I barely had time to gingerly put it on the ground to check if my ankle was broken when a guard barked out an order, "Get to work now! What do you think you're doing? Training for the ballet? There are two more pens to clean!” The other guard looked more inclined to do me bodily harm if I dallied, so I hurriedly picked up a shovel and began scooping up the poop in the pen. After all, I had two more pens to clean. The stench and my pain made my eyes water. “If you're not going to kill me, then give me strength.” I prayed silently to the moon goddess as I worked. “I’m tired of this life. I miss my father and want to join him wherever he is.” Surely, death was much better than this magnitude of suffering. A part of me, the part that had kept me sane all this while, didn't want to give up. But it was hard not to. So damn hard. That part of me prayed to the goddess for help, for strength. Laughter interrupted my thoughts. I turned to see Julia pointing at me and laughing her head off. "Look at you, pig! You finally found where you belong. How sweet." I pursed my lips, continued working and hoped she would go away. "Oh yes. It's better you remain silent forever. Tread carefully, or I'll make your life worse than it already is. The best part is no one will believe your side of the story. Next time, I won’t take it easy on you.” What? The shovel slipped from my hands as I turned to Julia in shock, as the realization hit me. "It was you," I cried. "You spread that rumour about me, telling everyone Asher was my mate, didn't you?" Julia threw back her head and laughed some more. "It's good to know you're not as stupid as you look," she said. "But listen, I am going to do something worse to you if you ever come close to Asher. Asher is mine. We'll be together forever. I'll be his Luna, and I'll have his pups while you'll be here shovelling crap or whatever it is you are supposed to be doing.” She spat at my feet and walked away before I could muster another word. The anger I felt made my temples throb and made it difficult for me to breathe. “You will pay for this,” I swore under my breath. Julia had to pay for what she did, even if it was the last thing I did. "Hey!" a guard yelled. "What did I tell you? Get back to work now!”HANNAHI had only gotten three hours of sleep the previous night. My entire body was aching by the time I finished cleaning the pig pen, and I had walked home because Alpha Dawson didn't offer me a ride.“I want to fuck a hot chick tonight!” One of Asher’s friends yelled, jolting me from my thoughts.Their dirty laughter filled my ears. It grated on my nerves, but I didn't dare show my displeasure.I hung my head, concentrating on not calling attention to myself. They would poke more fun at me if I so much as moved. Surreptitiously, I shifted from one aching foot to the other. I had been standing 'on guard' behind Asher's chair for a long, long time while he talked and laughed with his friends, Julia and her girlfriends. To make it worse, he had made me carry his books, and now my arms felt numb. "...you!"I blinked, raised my head and realized Asher had been talking to me. They were all looking at me. So much for my attempts to melt into the background."S-sorry," I stuttered. "Wh
CADEFor the very first time in my life, I felt what it was like to literally have the ground pulled out from under my feet. It was a feeling both surprising and unnerving, a feeling that left me breathless. It started the moment the girl ran into the classroom where I and my brothers were. Or was it the moment she turned those big, frightened, but pretty brown eyes to us?And her scent... her scent had been the most exquisite I had ever smelled. It had filed my nostrils to the exclusion of everything else. The urge to run my fingers through her long, wavy dark hair had been so overwhelming that it actually felt like I had done it. My wolf had screamed 'MATE'. My brothers- though I hadn't been looking at them- had responded to her in the exact same way I did. I had felt it. At the moment I realized that something truly bizzare- the three of us being mated to the same girl had happened- the door had been pushed open, a guy had barged in and tried to take the girl away.Said guy was cur
HANNAHI looked on as two of the guys tackled Asher. It was surprising because they did not hesitate before hitting him. For the first time, no one cared about Asher and his fucking status in the pack. They just held him down, and he tried to fight them off. Obviously, it was a lost fight for him. He was no match for one of the brothers, talk more of two of them."Should we help him?" Mace asked, but I shook my head. This was the only moment I had to watch him have a taste of his own medicine. There was a slight chance he would come after me later and punish me for what happened. But at least he would be doing that with bruises. One of the triplets, the one who had picked up my books for me, held my hand and tried to pull me away from the scene. I resisted initially because even though they saved me, I knew nothing about them besides the rumours floating around the school. And for all I knew, they could be even worse than Asher, and I was jumping from a bad situation to a more terribl
HANNAHThe triplets and I continued talking, and I found myself relaxing with them as time progressed. Then, I began to notice their features. While they looked similar, they had noticeable differences that made them stand apart.Cade was the tallest, with long brown hair up in a bun. His dark grey eyes complimented his pale, handsome face. He was quite muscular and had the typical bad-boy demeanour. It would be hard for any girl not to fall for his appearance.Jace, on the other hand, had blond silky hair, and it was obvious he cared a lot about his looks. His greyish-brown eyes shone with mischief, and while he had an easy-going smile, it was obvious that he wasn't one to be messed with.Chase seemed to be the one who talked the least. He was more observant than the two, with his dark greyish-green eyes taking in every detail. His dark curly hair had been cut off, but he had more facial hair than the other two. He also smiled the least, and I sensed people steered clear of him more
HANNAH"I'll train you," Cade said without any hesitation. My jaw dropped. "You mean that, right?""The first time I saw you, you were running from your dickish ex-mate," He slowly looked me over, the same way he did when our eyes met for the first time. "I want you to punch his face the next time."I couldn't help but smile. "That sounds like a good idea."I had never felt so happy in my life as I accepted. It was really ironic how one's life could turn around in a few hours. And that was my case.No guy this handsome had ever paid me the slightest notice. In fact, I wasn't sure there was any other man on earth with Cade's breathtaking masculine beauty. And yet, he was volunteering to do something that could change my life."Would you like to see the rest of the Estate now?" I turned to see him staring at me with a questionable expression and realized that I had been lost in thought."Ye—Yes. I want to."He took my hands and led me to the bigger side of the Estate. He showed me the b
HANNAH"I've never—" My voice trailed off, too embarrassed to admit that no guy had kissed me before Cade did, let alone three. "I think I'm comfortable. Yes."Almost immediately after I answered, I felt the room tense up. Or that was me.Jace was the first to react. He pushed toward me so quickly and pressed his lips to mine with a low groan. One hand tightly tangled in my hair as he deepened the kiss, and the other held me mercilessly to him.Cold chills sizzled against my skin in contrast to the hot and demanding heat pulling me from the inside. When he finally lifted his head, his expression was intense, like he was searching for answers on my face. "You have such an effect on me."My eyes fell on the bulge nearly pushing through his shorts, and I swallowed. He took my hands and slowly made me wrap them against his hardness. At that moment, Chase, who was standing behind me, started to plant kisses on my back. Then his lips trailed to my neck, his breath hot and heavy. While I rub
HANNAH“You led them here?” My mother yelled, her eyes filled with shock when she learned that I returned with bodyguards from Ice Stone Pack. “Asher Dawson will kill us if he finds out!”Although I had slightly expected her reaction and even imagined the scenario during my ride home, a part of me still hoped that she would be optimistic when she learned of the recent development in my life. And maybe a little bit glad that her daughter finally had a chance to be happy. We had always talked about me finding my mate, and when it turned out to be Asher, the sadness lingered between us. Was I too delusional to have thought she would be too excited to learn that I got a second chance?Hell! I expected balloons, a bottle of wine and an excellent toast to true love. Was that too much to ask?“Mum, can you calm down?” I asked, tapping my feet nervously on the ground. It was the only thing I could do in my situation.Sending the bodyguards back to Ice Stone was impossible, and I wasn’t even w
HANNAHI reached for the straps of my backpack strapped securely across my shoulders and clutched it tightly. My gaze was fixed on the ground, scared to look at Asher’s cold yet burning eyes. I needed an escape route. And I needed it fast.Slowly glancing around me, I painfully realized I had two options: beg Asher or sprint. None of them seemed good, especially since he had closed the distance between us, his breath hot and fast. Asher was faster than me, even in his sleep, so running would only end with my face slammed to the ground. That is if I managed to run.Begging him was the most logical choice, but that meant I would be at his mercy. And without any exaggerations, the devil was more merciful than Asher Dawson. I finally managed to look up at him. Asher's eyes seemed to gleam with knowledge as if he knew the very thoughts that ran through my mind. Mace sensed his aura and dominating wolf and immediately backed down. Yes, my wolf abandoned me in my time of distress. Asher
HANNAH I paced my breathing and counted my steps under my breath to distract myself from what was going on. I just wanted to be in my head all the time, if that was possible. I wanted my mind to dissociated from what my body was being forced to do. But it was hard to find my happy place when Asher stopped walking and turned to growl at me. "Hey, walk faster, will you? What the hell is wrong with you anyway?" He eyed the pile of books I was carrying. "You had better not let any of those books touch the floor or you'll be picking them up with your teeth." I nodded, taking great care that my eyes remained downcast. That seemed to please him. He was always pleased whenever I didn't put up a protest to whatever outrageous demands he made. He kept walking. I followed. Things were now back to the way they used to be before the triplets had showed up. I was back to lugging Asher's books and things around the school, escorting him to glass and being his general dogsbody, or to put it more
HANNAHA loud knock on the door made me start violently. In a second, I had rolled off the bed and was on my feet. With a racing heart, I called out, "Wh-who is it?""Me," replied a voice, the voice of a maid.I clutched my chest in relief and weakly called for her to come in. Anyone who wasn't Asher or his father were welcome. I should have even known Asher wasn't the one in the first place as he would never knock."Hi," I said to the girl. She merely acknowledged me with a toss of her head. To the maids in this house, I was more or less one of them, was Asher's mate only in name."Master Asher wants you to do his laundry." the girl said and when I merely nodded, she added, "Now. His clothes are in his room."She couldn't have said anything worse. Doing his laundry, I didn't mind that, but going to his room was a whole different matter. I could only wish that he would not be there when I went to get the clothes. But of course he was. Fate wasn't giving me a brief these days. Asher ha

ASHER"You!" I pointed at the guard who was holding Matt's head back. "Dump some more water on him."As he poured the bucket of water over the choking, spluttering man, I kept punching him the face. The sound of my brass studded knuckles making contact with his wet skin made a rather pleasant squelching sound. My face split into a grin as I realized I could actually get used to this. The feeling of ultimate power and control was a heady one.Punching the shit out of this asshole certainly beat hitting inanimate punching bags at the gym. I adjusted the brass knuckles over my fingers, gave him one more punch below the eye before taking a step back to survey my handiwork. His face was satisfyingly bruised and covered in blood. The skin was split in several places. It wasn't a bad result for about thirty minutes work, I had to admit. Not even the pack's guards could have done it better. One of his eyes was swollen shut but I had been careful not to hit anywhere close to the other function
ASHERI could tell my old man was pissed from the moment I walked into his study. I wondered what was biting him. No doubt it was something or the other to do with the pack's administration. I was more concerned about his bad timing. Why he hadn't waited a few minutes more until after was done with Hannah? That bitch was asking for it."Where have you been?" my father barked, breaking into my thoughts."Huh?""I looked for you all over the house and in your room. You weren't there.""I was in Hannah's room. Before the guard interrupted, I was you know..." I lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "...trying to fuck the bitch.""You were what?"I raised an eyebrow. Why did he sound so disapproving? It was surprising because my father was many things, but not a prude."I said I was about to fu-""Yes I heard you the first time, Asher but this is not the time to have sex!""Why?" I grumbled. "She's now my mate, isn't she? She's going to get screwed now or later, so what's the problem?""The pro
HANNAHJace took Willa and I to go get lunch and I was still dumbfounded by what he had done back at the shopping mall. As we sat down, I was beside myself with embarrassment. I couldn't believe I had all of Julia make a fool of me and the video was probably circulating about now. “I'm so sorry for the embarrassment I caused you both at the mall”. There was no coming back from this. “It's alright, Hannah”. The way he said my name only reminded me of how he had called me babe earlier. My cheeks flamed at the way the word had rolled off his tongue without him even noticing. “I think that girl that came earlier was responsible for it. She most likely framed you”. I knew Willa was talking about Julia and I was glad that I wasn't the only one who noticed that. “And thank you for paying too. I'm going to work hard to pay you back”. There's no way I was going to allow him spend that much on me without paying him back. He hadn't even planned on spending that money and stupid Julia had to
HANNAHChase had come to take to take me for a completely unnecessary reason. He took me to meet the other guys because they “missed me”. They just wanted to talk and confirm if I was okay but I assured them I was okay and they let me go back to Willa. “I'm getting bored. You know what we should do? Shop!”. She barely gave me the chance to get back into her room before she jumped at me. She started to pull out outfits to wear, insisting that the dress she had on already wasn't good enough for shopping especially if it was going to take a lot of time. I wanted to protest since I didn't have any money but she waved that off and told me it was her treat. She quickly changed into jeans and a gorgeous top and we headed for one of the huge malls in town. She asked the driver to prepare a car for us and warned him in advance that we were going shopping. The driver laughed and I knew he had to be used to her impulsive shopping. It just showed how they treated their staff with respect. Ash
HANNAHI was seated in the presence of the Alpha of Ice Stone pack in less than an hour. The triplets dad was an extremely formidable person who gave out an aura that dominated the entire room. Their mom was also there, looking extremely ethereal beside her husband. Neither of them have talked to me since I came even though they were the ones who asked Jace to come and fetch the guys and I. They barely glanced at me. For them to have asked that I came, it meant that they knew who I was and I was afraid that they thought I wasn't good enough for their son since they hadn't even acknowledged my presence. The circumstances in which we were meeting wasn't helping matter too. Jace had mentioned on the ride over that their dad had received a message that involved me and I had an idea of who might have sent the message. The Alpha brought out a sheet of paper that he must have read and handed it to Cade without even looking in his direction. He seemed to be communicating with his wife thr
HANNAHI was panicking when I picked up the phone to call Cade. If not for the guards who had been with us, alongside the ones they had called who had come swiftly, I would have been taken away to the pack house. According to the pack guards who came to pick up me up, Alpha Dawson wanted to see me. I know it has something to do with what had happened in school earlier with Asher. The guards from ice stone pack had made it impossible for them to get to me, making sure mom and I were safe inside. There was no way they were going to back down just like that. Asher wouldn't give up after just one attempt which meant that they would be coming back soon. As soon as the call connected, I started rambling to Cade who told me to calm down and explain what happened. “I was with mom when we heard chaos outside. When we went to check, pack guards were outside and demanding that I go with them to the pack house. The guards you sent with me beat them up and sent them away but I know they'll be
