IMEELA

My mind was positively reeling. Never in a million years would I have thought that the vampire at the door would turn out to be my uncle of all people. I had a few memories of my mother mentioning him.

The resemblance was uncanny. He and my mother had the same color of hair and eyes. He looked older than I remembered compared to what she did, but vampires typically aged gracefully.

I had been all alone for so long that I honestly thought I would also die alone. It was heartwarming to hear someone speaking positively about my amazing parents. They had been in my heart alone for so long, but now their memory was able to truly live on. And it was freeing in a way that I had not expected to ever feel.

What did Jackson think about my parentage? Worry caused my gut to churn. Honestly, I was very confused about my personal feelings regarding our bond. Emilio had been my closest companion. That was the extent of my experience with the opposite sex. I had never kissed anyone, let alo

JACKSON Zeus and I were thankful that she was willing to stay here. That we would not have to worry for her safety outside of this pack. Just the thought of something happening to her was enough to twist us up inside. I knew that she did not have much at all and would need clothes, toiletries, and personal items. Here was the issue with that though – convincing her to let me help with it. I could tell that she was an extremely independent person, which was something that I highly respected, but I knew that it would be next to impossible to convince her unless I was able to make it appeal to her independent nature so that it was not seen as a handout or me saying it was my obligation as her mate. Thus, I decided to make it about a trade instead. Essentially, we would be getting the things that she wanted and needed. In return, she would help train me with her incredible fighting skills. She was hesitant to accept it at first, but the logical side of her mind must have pointed out the

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 9

IMEELAThe tenderness that Jackson had shown me in the short time since I had known him was really heartwarming.I had gotten so angry at the bitch who would not leave him alone even though he clearly dismissed her twice. An odd feeling had bubbled up inside of me, and I did not like her trying to claim his attention even though he did not want to give it. I appreciated the fact that he wanted nothing to do with her.A possessiveness rose up, so I made sure to show her that she had no claim to him. I had been originally worried that he would be upset that I had shared anything about our bond without discussing it first, but he was quick to reassure me.My skin tingled where his lips had pressed against my forehead, and part of me wondered if it would tingle for him to kiss my lips. That thought alone made me blush hard.I actually enjoyed myself shopping. He had a great eye for what looked good, and he made me feel sexy, which was something that I had never felt before. Yet, when he lo

JACKSON A scream ripped me from sleep, causing my heart to pound violently against my chest. My eyes swept the room, looking for any sign of danger. I jumped out of bed when I heard her scream again and made my way to her door. I took a deep breath and knocked on her door. Zeus was just as antsy as I was because our mate was distressed, but we were not certain what the best course of action would be. Hearing her heartbreaking sobs made my decision for me. She could be pissed off at me all she wanted to, but I could not just stand back and ignore her pain. I turned the doorknob, thankful that it was not locked, and slowly pushed the door open. Her body was tangled up in her bedding, showing just how restless she was. The tear stains on her face pained me too. She thrashed back and forth, begging and pleading for someone to forgive her. Goddess, her pain pushed out from her, making my own eyes water. Was this what she always dealt with on her own? I needed to figure out the diffe

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 11

JACKSON This day has been going great thus far! Imeela initiated a delicious kiss and then let me hold her all night. I had never slept so well as I did surrounded by her scent. Then I got to watch her deal with the crazy bitch. I was definitely not happy with the bitch, but it was hot watching my mate dominate her without even trying. She could have easily destroyed her is she wanted to, but her character would not let her do that. It was something that I admired. What was the best part of it all though? Looping Brynn into what happened so that she could have fun putting the bitch back in her place. I had no idea what she had planned, but it would be memorable whatever it was. After breakfast, we headed out to where the vacant houses were. There were a couple of them not too far from the packhouse. Then a few more were further away in the residential sector. We had five to choose from at the moment. One day, I would like to build a house that we could make our own just like Theo

IMEELAIt felt so odd to be shopping for household things, but Jackson and I were doing it together. He was making this very enjoyable actually. We had started our shopping trip for the furniture that we needed first. There were so many different options. Too many options if I was being honest. Luckily, there were already made sets so that we did not have to pick out each individual piece. The bed was upgraded to a King instead of a Queen, and we got an amazing memory foam mattress. It was like laying on a cloud. The bedroom set that we got was dark wood with a classic feel. Our living room furniture was something called u-chaise sectional that had six parts to it. Then we had a matching oversized chair that would be perfect for cuddling. I could now admit that I was indeed a cuddler it seemed. Nothing was better than having his arms wrapped around me, holding me like I was the most precious thing in the world to him.Jackson was also able to order the pet door from the same store to b

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 13

JACKSONThe dream was so realistic. I could feel her body moving against mine in the most delicious ways. Goddess, I wanted nothing more than to make her scream my name in ecstasy. I wanted nothing more than to watch the need in her eyes as her body succumbed to its desires. Her low moan broke through my haze, and I realized that it was not a dream. However, she was dreaming. Fuck… it felt so good that I did not want to move, but I had to. My entire control would be snapped in half if she kept this up.I tried to move away from her, but a whine fell from her lips. Her ass pressed harder against my cock.‘I’ve got to wake her up.’‘Are you sure?’ Zeus asked, almost hoping that I would not.I groaned in equal parts impending sexual frustration and desire to make sure that she was not embarrassed.“Imeela, love,” I called softly, but it did not seem to work. “C’mon, love, wake up,” I said a little louder. Her breathing picked up, showing that she was awake now. Her head tilted to the side

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 14

IMEELA Zeus and I were going to go for a run before we went to deal with Regan. He was a handsome wolf alright. His coat was a rich dark chocolate color. The tips of his ears and tail were black. His left front paw looked like it was wearing a black sock. My favorite part was the black diamond marking on his forehead. His eyes were mesmerizing. They were cobalt blue and looked as if he could see directly into my soul. My fingers combed through his fur. He pushed against my hand, a rumble coming from his chest. He was definitely enjoying this, and so was I. The sparks could be felt this way too. Those sparks were very addicting. I loved finding opportunities to feel them. “I can’t get over how incredibly handsome you are, Zeus. My wolf mate is quite the catch,” I said with a smile. He let out a low growl and started rubbing his body all over mine, ensuring that he reached everything that he could. He apparently loved scenting me, so he did it every single time he was in his own bo

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 15

JACKSON Regan. Oh, how I hated her. Hate was not something that I did lightly, but she deserved every ounce of that emotion. Not only did she attempt to murder my mate, but she had also found out how to do that from a vampire that had stalked and harmed my mate in the past. There was no telling how far he would have gone had that nomadic vampire not shown up and helped save her. Would Dexter Donnovan have killed Imeela or kept her as his plaything? I wanted nothing more than to hunt the fucker down and detach his head from his body. However, that was not a good idea just yet, but he would find a painful end one day. The last trial that we had in this pack was Lauren. It was kind of ironic that the next trial had to deal with the Beta rank instead of Alpha rank. I highly doubted that anyone would attempt to rescue her though. Dahlia said that she had some information that she wanted to share with us, so that was where Imeela and I were headed. I knocked on the door to her office an

  • Design of Fate   Author's Note

To all of my amazing readers, I am happy to tell you that “Destined Alpha of Change” is now officially up on the app and ready to begin being read. Now, onto other important matters. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for how much support you have given me throughout these books. I love reading all of your comments, whether they were negative or positive, and use them to help shape the story as it evolves. Jackson and Imeela’s story was one story that I could not begin to write. I know that not everyone was thrilled during Theo’s story when Jackson took Brynn’s side after the rejection. However, it just showed the type of man that he was. The one who would help protect those who needed it, just like he did with Brynn. One thing that many of you had mentioned was that you enjoyed the species integration seen throughout this book and the Fated series. We will see the byproduct of that during the Legacies of Destiny series. Kalen’s story will be the first one, followed by

SNEAK PEEK – “DESTINED ALPHA OF CHANGE”– KALENLater on in life, I would look back and wonder how I survived what I willingly threw myself into.Visions led me down this path. They were warnings of what was to come. A single person was going to be the spark that ignited the fire that would destroy everything that I held dear. It would lead to countless graves. The peace that our world experienced would be wiped away, leaving nothing but pain and chaos in its wake. The only way to prevent this was for me to identify the supernatural that was aiding him. My visions only showed me this one path to potential success. Yes, I said potential. If I succeeded, then it would save everyone and everything. However, it could very well be my demise. The plan unfolded where I would create my own trap to catch his attention. It worked like a charm, and that was how I ended up in this make-shift dungeon cell. He really spent too much time watching B-rated horror films.I lost track of how long I had

  • Design of Fate   Bonus Chapter - Emilio and Imeela On the Run

EMILIOMy mind was a complete mess right now. I had a sleeping Princess cradled in my arms as I ran, searching for somewhere that was safe enough to rest.‘It is your duty to keep her safe. Run and do not look back. There will come a day when she returns here to avenge us, but it will be when she is older. We have every faith in you when it comes to protecting one of the most important gifts that we have ever been given and will never be able to express just how much we appreciate it. We have always loved you like a son, so let me give you one last piece of advice. Do not harbor guilt for leaving instead of fighting alongside the coven because you are protecting the future of our kind. That is the most important mission that has ever existed.’Those were his parting words. As much as he said not to harbor guilt… it was easier said than done. Instead of focusing on that, I focused on the fact that it was my duty as her personal bodyguard to always do what was necessary to protect her.J

  • Design of Fate   Bonus Chapter - Enter Lola

LOLAI had been different my entire life. Not being able to hear anything made life hard. That was why Mom taught me ASL and how to read lips. It did not always help, but it did help sometimes. Mom and Dad were my only sources of consistency, but even that did not last.We were always moving around. They never told me why, but I had the feeling that it was because of me. Dad was a special kind of vampire, and Mom was an Elemental dragon. I might be young, but I understood what that meant for me.Sadly, we could not outrun every danger. Vampires caught up with us. Mom and Dad fought them off with everything they had. They took down many of the vampires. Then something hit my head, and I blacked out. I came to and saw my parent’s dead bodies next to me.My heart broke because I was all alone now. They would never be able to tell me another bedtime story. I would never ride on Mom’s dragon form again. There would never be another opportunity to tell them that I loved them.Lost in my sadn

  • Design of Fate   Epilogue 2

JACKSON At the same conference as Epilogue 1 – I could not be any prouder of Lola as I watched her get everything prepared for her presentation. She worked her ass off to get to where she was at right now in life. Nothing held her back, and nothing slowed her down. It had been hard for her at first because she desired to be independent, but not everyone could communicate with her and vice versa. My amazing mate was the one who could break through her barriers and encourage her to get right back up. I had never seen Lola happier than when Ziyah had given her the hearing aids that she created for her years back. Lola was born deaf, so she never had the opportunity to hear people speak to her or around her. She never had the ability to listen to the sounds of nature. While she could not do anything for the second part, Ziyah had been able to fix it to where the words were picked up by the devices and then sent as a mindlink. A lot of attention to detail was found in how they worked.

  • Design of Fate   Epilogue 1

IMEELASix years later –I checked my appearance one last time just to make certain that I looked presentable for the supernatural conference that we were attending. The pencil dress came to my knees. The top was white with a notched neck and three-quarters sleeves. The bottom was black with strips of black and white crisscrossing the waist. My hair was pulled into a low side bun with my newly designed diadem.Honestly, I hated wearing the crown in public, which this conference was, but our normal diadems were not official enough, according to our Cabinet, so we designed new ones that were more official looking. They were more pronounced with the Precoza crest designed within it.I opted for a natural look with my makeup, so it just highlighted my features. Luckily, my mates did not care if I wore makeup or not because it was not something that I cared about either.“You look beautiful, Mom,” Zion said from behind me.I turned around and smiled at my handsome son. He was as tall and bu

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 94

IMEELAZiyah had called me earlier and said that she had something special for Lola that should help the most with her deafness.Lola was a blessing in disguise when we first met her. She had been through so much in her short life, but it proved that she was strong and resilient enough to soldier on and keep going. Her biggest hurdle in life was learning to navigate being deaf in a supernatural world. There were many shows and movies out there that show how easy it was to overcome that hurdle and still live a completely normal life. That might be how it worked for humans, but it was extremely dangerous for supernaturals. Our world was a chaotic one where we always had to look out for the dangers hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.Lola was so fucking strong that it made us incredibly proud of her. She had learned how to read lips with damn near perfect accuracy. She was also learning how to defend herself against any attack. Zion took it upon himself t

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 93

JACKSONThree years later –I chuckled as I watched Amira and Cyrus playing tag with Zion outside.Imeela rested her back against my chest. It was a very comfortable Spring with the sun shining down on us.Amira was a pro at this game already because of her gift. She could use her shield to essentially cloak her just like I could via casting. This, however, also hid her scent, breathing, and heartbeat. Thankfully, Ziyah was able to put a block on it so that we would always be able to find her even if she was cloaked.Emery was practicing her dance routine off to the side where she would not be in the way. The girl was really fucking talented. I had never liked ballet before, but I watched every routine she had and got swept away in the emotions that it evoked each and every time.Zion fell to his knees and gripped his head, crying out.We were next to him in an instant. Zion had a high pain tolerance. He broke his arm last year and did not scream or anything. He whimpered, but that was

  • Design of Fate   Chapter 92

JACKSONI was currently sparring with Santiago. He was a great opponent because his training and heritage really made him really fucking lethal when he wanted to be. Thankfully, he liked me enough to allow my continued breathing. It only took training with vampires for about four months before I could keep up with them entirely speed wise. Strength was a different matter because there was a biological difference between our species. However, sealing the bond with my girl gave me additional strength. I might not have been able to deck a vampire quite as hard as another one could, but it did not matter. I just had to be more strategic on when and where to hit. However, the blessing of strength that Hecate had given to me at the coronation and also the boost from being crowned King put me as close as possible to being at the level of vampires. My fist connected in an uppercut, causing Santiago to fly up and backwards with his ass landing on the ground. He just laid there, panting heavily.
