The moon was full and bright, the howling of wolves hunting at night could be heard coming from the deepest part of the forest. The seventeen-year-old, Morgan Muller was running around the forest with his best friend, Oliver Woods. Their birthdays were fast approaching and they needed to ready their bodies for their first turn.
“Come’n Oliver! You can do better than that!” Morgan teased while laughing as he quickened his pace to get closer to the already panting friend. He had been friends with Oliver eversince they were pups. He liked him so much because Oliver was different from all the people who treat him like some sort of a god. While the people almost worship him while showering him endless praises, Oliver was the only reminder that he was normal. They hang out together, do silly things together, and train together like normal teens would do.
“Morgan! Dang! Just how can you be so fast?!” Oliver called out as his eyes widened after realizing that Morgan was already tailing behind him.
Oliver was still trying to catch his breath as he watched the alpha’s eldest son approaching him after he demanded a short stop. His jet black shoulder-length hair that was always tied in a knot bun was now let down and his honey-colored eyes started to glow as soon as the moon illuminated his face.
“What are you doing? We still have a long way to go, bro.” Morgan uttered as he offered his hands down to his best friend to help him stand from the ground.
“You can do it! Just one more lap—” Morgan’s laughter echoed around when he ended up sitting on the ground butt first as Oliver pulled his leg.
“I wanted to train not to kill myself in exhaustion. A little rest won’t kill, ” Oliver whined that made Morgan chuckle. They were now both seated on the ground, resting and talking about what they think their wolves would look like and how they were both excited for it. They rested for a while before finally deciding to just walk back to the packhouse, which they did at a slow pace, courtesy of Oliver’s endless whining about his “burning” legs.
“Good evening, Morgan and Oliver.” Morgan and Oliver smiled at the father-son duo who happened to be walking with them after coming from hunting.
“Drake told us that, although it may rarely happen, we should always avoid having direct contact with the moon goddess. Why is that?” James asked while they were all walking.
“Because the moon goddess is good, but they shouldn’t be seen by mere creatures like us, or else that would be bad news for us. Meeting and being associated personally with the moon goddess brings one a lifetime of misfortunes, James.” The father patiently answered.
Morgan smiled as he saw how the child’s forehead creased as he heard his father’s words, while Oliver groaned as he heard his father’s name and his endless teachings about the goddesses.
“But… She’s the goddess! If anything else, she would be bringing luck and blessings!” The child argued before looking at Morgan to ask for confirmation.
“Right, Morgan?” the kid asked while looking at him, hoping that he would be agreeing. But Morgan shook his head as he ruffled the child’s hair.
“No, James. You should just follow Drake’s advice and just stay out of the goddess’ way. Hmm?” He said earning a frown from the kid.
“I don’t really understand but since you said it, then that’s true for sure!” The child chirped cheerfully before running ahead. His father, Kian looked at them helplessly before running after his son.
“You and your golden halo. How can you actually convince everyone with just a few words?” Oliver said with a smile as he shakes his head.
“Blame that to Enchantress Inessa who told everyone I am the most powerful alpha ever born,” Morgan answered with a smirk. Oliver covered both of his ears as he picks up his pace on walking, refusing to hear his best friend’s childbirth story all over again.
Morgan’s story was like a bedtime story to everyone in Serigala, especially to the people of Grimbell where their pack, the Cresent Walkers were residing. The golden boy born when the moon was so bright and his eyes that glowed as soon as his father carried him towards the windows to watch the moon. The head enchantress was the one who personally helped their luna gave birth and had prophesied that he would be the strongest alpha of all times. All the pups know about that story and he’s been hearing that a lot from his father, Drake. So there’s no need for him to hear it all over again.
“Hey! Wait for me!” Morgan called out chuckling as he jogged forward to keep up with Oliver.
“Your birthday’s tomorrow, right?” Morgan sighed and took Rissa’s hands away from his thigh and stood up. The beta’s daughter immediately frowned upon the rejection.
“Yes. I’ll get going, Rissa.” He said and walked out the door before Rissa could even say anything. That girl was really too aggressive. She would literally pounce at him any moment she could get.
But he won’t let that.
He wanted a love like what his parents had.
Pure.
He didn’t have to wait that long anyway. It’s his eighteenth birthday tomorrow, and it would also be the first time he would turn. Everyone was also looking forward to tomorrow. And personally, he was also very excited to meet his wolf because meeting his wolf would also mean that he would soon find his mate, too.
He smiled at the thought as he inserted his hands in his pockets and stared ahead. But his forehead creased as he saw his best friend fugitively ran inside the forest. He looked around and realized that there was no one else around. He contemplated a bit before he decided to follow Oliver.
Morgan stealthily walked through the dark forest and looked around for any clues where the next omega headed to. But he was almost near the heart of the forest but there are still no signs of Oliver. It was like he completely vanished.
“Maybe he already headed back?” he uttered to himself and was about to head back to the packs’ house when he heard a loud splash of water. Thinking that it might be Oliver accidentally falling on the water, he immediately looked back and ran back to the middle of the forest where the waterfalls were located to check what happened.
He needed to cover his eyes from the bright light that assaulted his eyes as soon as he had stepped a few meters away from the falls.
It took him a while before his eyes had adjusted from the binding lights and his eyes widened as he saw someone resurfaced from the water, gasping for air. It was a very beautiful lady in a white dress that seems to be glowing. He realized that the bright light that’s making everything around him glow was the beautiful woman herself.
He remained rooted in his place as he watched how the most beautiful woman his eyes had ever laid on, works to catch her breath.
Although the forest was originally dark, Morgan can clearly see her long damped golden locks that fell down to her waist and her very fair complexion that accentuated her bright amber eyes and thin lips. He wasn’t sure if it was the bright moon that allows him to see every single detail about her or was it because she was simply… glowing.
He was still standing still by the sides of the falls and was gaping at the beautiful scenery ahead of him when the woman suddenly turned around and saw him.
“Who are you?!” she shrieked in panic.
Amira stares at the young goddesses playing outside. She smiled bitterly as she remembered how she wanted to play like them too when she was their age but her mother told her that she can’t just carelessly run around just like them. She sighed and looked back at the glowing scrolls placed on her bed that were made of stars.“That’s still a lot. How does mother never get short of stories for me to read?” she asked exasperatedly as she begrudgingly walked back to her bed and started opening the scrolls of love again. She sighed and choose one of the brightest scrolls in front of her. She figured that the brighter the scrolls were, the greater the love shared. The scrolls of love contain stories. Stories of the matches, pairings, her mother, and all the former goddesses of the moon had made. The scrolls record everything the match had to undergo for their love, how they met and how they ended. Some of them end up happily but the ones
She immediately turned away from the pavilion after realizing that she was once again catching the attention of the other goddesses that went out of the pavilion and ran towards the direction heading to the Pond of Living. The Pond of Living is the portal that the Goddess of Goodwill uses to communicate well with the enchantresses. It was actually forbidden for young goddesses and even to some other full-grown goddesses as well but she was feeling extra lonely tonight. She was sure that the Goddess of Goodwill was still inside the pavilion, having fun with the others so no one else would know that she had sneaked in.She carefully looked around before she sat by the pond where she can hear endless chants and voices of enchantresses addressing the concerns of their people.Amira stared at the rippling waters that showed the reflection of the glowing fireflies above it. Her forehead creased as she bit her lower lip as she thinks of a way to figure out how this com
Amira stared at Morgan for a while before nodding with a hesitant expression on her face.“I am a moon goddess. But who exactly are you looking for?” she asked, completely puzzled.“Huh? Aren’t you the only one?” Morgan asked back while they were walking away from the falls. Amira shook her head while chuckling as she held Morgan’s clothes closer to her body as she felt the cold breeze of the wind. Morgan saw her do that and immediately thought of how he could help her warm up without scaring her.“Our packhouse is a bit too far from here,” Morgan informed as he stopped walking. Amira was already a few steps ahead of him when she realized that he had stopped. She turned around and looked at him questioningly. She was wondering if she did something wrong.Morgan gulped as he struggled to stop himself from being mesmerized by her beauty. He subtly heaved a deep breath before smiling at her.“My fa
In Bulan, the once joyful celebration turned into chaos as the goddesses run back and forth the whole place to look for the daughter of the Goddess of Love. Celestia felt terribly worried when her daughter didn’t come back hours after excusing herself to get something to drink. And now that she’s nowhere to be found the whole Bulan was in a quest to search for the young goddess. While everyone was busy looking for Amira, the Goddess of Goodwill, Agatha, and her daughter, Elpis was already contemplating what they should do. They saw the young goddess jumped into the Pond of Living which scared them so much.No one else knows that the Pond of Living is a direct portal into the living realm. It was only the Goddess of Goodwill who was in charge of the pond, her daughter, and the highest goddess which is the Goddess of Love. And now her daughter jumped off into the portal and the mother-daughter duo didn’t know what they should do.They looked down
Calliope slumped herself down the couch as she felt her knees weakening. She took a few heavy breathes before she turned to the head enchantress once again.“I just don’t understand…” She uttered weakly.“Why does it always have to be him?”“Can’t my son live normally?” she asked while sobbing.Enchantress Inessa’s heart clenched as she watched the luna weeping. Although they were not yet sure of what really happened, she was sure enough, it was nowhere good.“I don’t know too, Calliope. This… this is not what I had envisioned when he was born.” The enchantress uttered as she turned to the huge window which shows the bright moon that lights up the midnight sky.Meanwhile, Alpha Romero and his men scattered along the forest in search of his son.“Mind link us immediately if you find him! If he’s in a rather dangerous state, immediately con
In Bulan, Agatha and Elpis were watching the people searching the forest. Agatha was extremely worried and was already walking back and forth around the pond.“Mother,” Elpis called out after finally making up her mind.Agatha stopped pacing and turned to her daughter with questioning eyes.“I made up my mind.” She announced as she stood by the pond and stared at the rippled reflection in front of her.“I’ll go down and fetch the young goddess.” She said with full conviction.“But Elpis!”“Mother! Goddess Amira is young and naive. She won’t survive it down there. Let me go down and get her.”“But Goddess Celestia—”“That’s why we need you to cover for us, mother,” Elpis said seriously.Elpis had always pitied that young goddess. She can see how Amira envied the other goddesses her age who can freely walk and play a
Morgan turned to look at the enchantress after hearing her words.“What… How… How did that happen?” His mother asked. Calliope felt like she would collapse on the ground after hearing the enchantress’ words.“You… you told us that he would be the strongest—the greatest alpha ever born. How… How can he lost his wolf?” she asked tears streaming down her face. When Morgan saw his mother crying he wiped away his own tears and embraced his mother tightly.“Stop crying, Mama. I’ll be alright…” Calliope's sobs escaped as soon as his son comforted her. Morgan turned to the enchantress with a serious expression.“What are you talking about, Enchantress Inessa?” he asked. The enchantress stared at him and sighed heavily as she remembered the vision she had seen just after she held his hands.Morgan was helping a faceless woman out of the water, and the
Morgan can't sleep. The enchantress' words keep on repeating inside his mind. He was tossing and turning around his bed but later on finally decided to give up trying to get some sleep. He sat up from his bed and turned to the mirror placed in one corner of his room.He stared at it for a while, waiting for his eyes to glow just like usual. Only that it didn't.While he was washing up earlier, he realized that his eyes had changed. Of course, he panicked. After all those warning stares and haunting words from the enchantress, who wouldn't freaked out?But he just can't bring himself to think that it was all because of Amira. That innocent goddess. He sighed before getting out of his bed and wore a shirt before getting out of his room.Morgan went to the kitchen where he found his best friend, Oliver who was busy washing the pile of dishes the pack had used earlier. He sighed heavily which caught the young omega's attention.Oliver tur
“I can’t help her in this state, Morgan. I’ll go blind just looking at her.” “It’s only you who can go near her. We already vacated the packhouse. The injured ones were already attended to.” “Comfort her, Morgan. She never wanted this to happen. This is not her fault.” It was a disaster. She is that disaster. Amira hugged her knees closer to her chest as tears rolled down her face. She can feel the stars hovering over her glowing body as if calming her down. She can still hear the people outside the room talking
Amira looked up at the sky and stared at it with worry. Something is definitely going on. No matter how mad her mother could be, she would never reject such a message she sent her. That was her last straw and now that there was still no response from anyone in Bulan… she was sure. There is something wrong. She refuses to acknowledge all the negative thoughts plaguing her mind but that’s all she could think about right now. She felt so restless thinking that something happened to her mother. Goddess Celestia is not the best mother but she’s not that bad either. She took care of her, raised her well, and never abandoned her. She even pushed her down into this
“A penny for your thoughts?” Morgan’s soft and loving tone accompanied his warm arms that embraced Amira’s small body from behind. She was silently looking out the window, thinking about her current situation and wondering about her mother’s and companion’s situation up there in Bulan. She felt Morgan place a tender kiss on her shoulders before his arms around her tightened. “Is something bothering you?” he asked earning a sigh from the moon goddess. “I… I am worried about my mother,” she confessed. She immediately felt a quick stir in Morgan’s emotion before it completely vanish as he inhales her scent. &l
“We’re really sorry for all the trouble, moon goddess,” one of the councils apologized after their long conversation about the current state of Wolfpoint because of her presence. “It’s nothing. I’m grateful that you work hard in order to protect me and our people,” Amira answered gracefully. Her arms tangled across Morgan’s who was standing beside her, talking to another council. “It is our honor to serve the moon goddess—“ “Luna. She’s currently the luna of Crescent Walkers now,” Morgan corrected, earning an affectionate smile from his mate who even rested her head on his shoulder. The councilors conceded with Morgan’s overwhelming alpha aura and nodded apologetically. “Our apologies.”
Amira woke up feeling Morgan’s butterfly kisses on her face. She snuggled closer to his chest to feel his warmth. Her body felt sore all over but she actually feels good. Her body felt lighter than ever and the smile on her lips can’t help but appear as she felt her mate’s loving touches. She fell asleep naked last night but she woke up wearing the very same dress she had stripped off in front of Morgan. He probably dressed her up to make her comfortable. “Is it morning already?” she asked while her face was buried on his bare chest. “Uhuh…” he answered in a sweet voice. “You seem to be in a good mood,” she pointed out before looking up to meet his gaze.
Amira felt the cold breeze of the afternoon air. Although the sun remains hidden behind the bright full moon, the afternoon breeze is still evident in the air. Especially as she felt Morgan jumping from one tree to another with an unimaginable speed. “Are you alright? Am I going too fast—“ “I can’t wait to feel you,” Amira whispered by Morgan’s neck to cut him off. It was actually uncomfortable being carried while running and jumping at the speed of light but she knew her mate better. Once she mentioned her discomfort about the situation, he would stop everything and his prior intentions would be buried deep down in his mind again.
“I’ve heard rumors about the golden boy of Grimbell was mated with the moon goddess but I didn’t think it was true!”“I thought that golden boy had been eradicated already?”“No! He’s actually turned out to be an ultima wolf! My sister’s a member of the pack so I received news about their new alpha’s identity!”The whole transport area was filled with gossip about Amira and Morgan. Inessa sighed heavily listening to those endless chattering while waiting for her apprentice to finish speaking to the coachman of the carriage that they would be using on their way to Grimbell. The apprentice was right. Almost everyone’s heading to Grimbell to visit the pack of Crescent Walkers. Everyone’s looking forward to being blessed by the new luna of the pack who turned out to be a moon goddess herself.“Enchantress,” the apprentice bowed down curt
The brothers’ scene caused an uproar in the pack. As people whispered nasty things and judgmental thoughts about the two, Morgan remained still on the ground, embracing his brother’s huge wolf in his arms. Just like how he carried him back when they were both children.“It’s alright, Callum… it’s alright,” Morgan keeps on whispering on the beast’s perky ears as his younger brother whimpers.“I am sorry… I was… I don’t know what I was thinking… Oliver… He told me things—““Shhh… it’s alright. You don’t have to apologize for something like this,” Morgan said. “You can be the alpha. That is if you really want to be one, Callum. I know you would be a great leader but I don’t want you to force yourself to take up the responsibility that should have been mine in the first place.”“We’re brothers,
“Do they really have to do this? Romero?” Calliope asked her husband while crying. It breaks her heart to watch both of her sons standing in the middle of the battle stage to fight for the title of being the alpha.Never in her life did she ever expect that this could have happened. Callum and Morgan shared a strong bond ever since they were young. How it ends up right here, is something she never saw coming.Amira was silently seated beside Calliope and Monica, Callum’s mate. They watched as the brothers entered the stage. Amira can feel Morgan’s mixed feelings of guilt, worry, and love. He loved his brother. And this is the reason why he had pursued the title. He told him that Callum never liked the title. He just grew up thinking that he should have it since he trained for it, he had to take over Morgan’s responsibilities and burdens when he failed to turn and he was left with no choice but to force himself to think that he enjoys it.
