Jayden's POV

“Ouch, are you about to break my back, man?” Eric groaned.

“I guess you should train better”, I replied, twisting harder.

“Jayden!” Eric begged.

I chuckled darkly, giving him one more twist before I released him.

We were in Phil's house, doing our usual training, but this time we were going harder. We needed to catch Uriel.

We had been chasing and setting traps for him, for a week but, he kept evading us, and it was getting annoying.

Time was not on my side. I had barely three weeks to leave Forktown. I had not yet told Jovita about my departure. I couldn't bear to tell her.

I thought of defying my father, but I knew better. Besides, I was not just an ordinary werewolf, and my time was near. Forktown is not enough to contain the real me.

I had a secret no one but my father, my mom, and I knew about. Not even my best friend Eric, or my childhood friends, Jade included, knew about this secret. Not even my pack. It was one I had buried inside my heart twelve years ago.

Jovita's POVI glared at Jayden as he wrapped his arms around my waist tightly. What's with him being overly possessive?“Don't try to scare them away” I warned him in my head, earning a dark chuckle.“Okay guys, I need a trainee, and it can't be Jayden. Which of you is interested in taking the job?” I asked, throwing them a wink.Phil laughed loudly, and Jayden swatted his head playfully.“I don't mind”, Seth said, a shy smile spread on his handsome face.As much as I'd love to jump on this juicy offer to get trained by this strong, handsome Alpha, I'd have to decline. I didn't want Jayden snapping Seth's head off.Seth was incredibly strong and skilled. According to the rumours, he was next after Jayden in strength and speed, but I was quite sure he didn't stand a chance next to Jayden.“Thanks, Seth, anyone else?”Jayden growled beside me. I could feel shudders running through him already. He shot Seth a dark look, which Seth returned with a sly smile. I could feel the tension buil

Jovita's POV“Is everything alright?” Jayden asked.I nodded my head in response. Was my father calling me? I was puzzled. The voice I had heard sounded very much like that of the man who had spoken to me in my vision at Gibson's bookstore. Why was my father reaching out now? He had stayed away since after our first encounter. What if something was wrong?“I need to get to my father”, I said to Jayden. He raised a perfect brow, slanting his lips. “How is that even possible?”“Gibson's bookstore”.He threw me a terrified glance, his lovely face squeezing with worry.“There's no way in hell, am letting you do what I think you're planning on doing. You almost died Jovie!”“But I didn't”. I shot him a pleading gaze, I was not sure if we had enough time to argue right now. Who knows what's happening to father?“Yeah, that was because Gibson stopped you right on time”. He was yelling now.“He'd be there to stop me now”.Jayden looked around, letting out a loud breath. I understood his pain

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   I had to, for the fear of my life...

Jayden’s POVWhat the hell! I screamed in my head. Do witches read memories or go into the darkest part of people's hearts? How in the world did Jovita's dad know about my other side? That was a secret I buried with my mom. Now Jovita is glaring at me across the room and I don't know what to say. I can see the accusation in her eyes. It was obvious she knew I was hiding something.I couldn't tell her about it as much as I wanted to. It was a secret I had promised my mom I would guard with all my heart until it became impossible to.I know I was quite a complicated person. I kept many things from her when she bore everything to me. I know it wasn't fair but there was little I could do.I was used to being secretive, and this whole love thing was a new phase of my life. I couldn't still bring myself to share my secrets and problems with others, not even with Eric or Jovita.I made a mental note to start sharing things with her, as we followed the old witch slash Mr Gibson down the hall

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   Was she dead?

Jovita's POV“This is the Palace”, Versant said as he stopped in front of a large white gate, with what looked like a royal seal.A man, who I assumed to be a royal servant appeared by my side and helped me down the horse.“Welcome my lord, they're waiting for you”, he said to Versant. From the look of things, Versant was probably one of the higher-ups.“Thank you”, Versant replied, handing his horse to the servant. “Let's go”. He nodded in my direction. The large gate was thrown open without Versant touching it. Did he use magic or something? I heard witches could cast spells. The castle was a great white building that stood magnificently. Its large pillars were made of what I suspected to be pure gold. The surroundings were filled with bright green trees and grasses, and a stream followed by the side. “You'd get jaw cramps if you keep your mouth open like that”, Versant said, laughing. I hadn't realised my mouth was hanging open.I nodded shyly, mentally face-palming.“Are you rea

Her physician needs to make a portion, but he needs a flower that only grows in the garden only you can enter”.He was watching me as he spoke. The sad look in his eyes had not faded.“Because I bear the sacred mark?”“Yes”.“Why do I bear it?” I had a million questions to ask. My father better be prepared.“You got it from your grandma's child, she was the last to bear the mark”.“So I'm a witch and a werewolf then?”He threw me an assessing glance, a smile plastered on his handsome face, though the smile did not reach his sad eyes.“I’m not entirely a witch child, but my mother is, so you're more than just a witch and a werewolf”.My head was swimming with information right now. • Descendant of the moon goddess.   You need your wolf...

Jovita's POV When I pulled away, we continued walking until we reached a black, large door. Versant and the others were already waiting for us.“This is the sacred garden. Currently, only you and my mother can open it. You bear the sacred mark so nothing would dare to attack you, but you must be careful. If you need my help, call my name”, my father said, hugging me tight.“But you can't enter”.“I wouldn't mind if it comes to you”.“What happens if you enter?”“The spirits would attack me since I don't have the mark that scare them away”.Then I'm not calling on him, I said to myself.“What I'm going to do when I get in?” I felt a little bit scared, but I have been considered weak all my life since I didn't get my wolf early. If this was a chance to be strong and save my grandma's life, then I was ready to take the risk.“You'd see a dandelion growing in the middle of the garden. We need a flower to prepare the antidote for her”.“Okay”.“Are you ready?”“Yes”. I wasn't sure I was,

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   How…what do you mean?

Jovita's POVI woke up in a strange room, with high ceilings that held dangling chandeliers. I turned to my side to take in my surroundings. The room was painted white and everything else in it. From the soft king-sized bed I was laying on, to the closet, curtains, tables, armchairs and many other things that lay around the room.I rubbed my head trying to figure out where I was, and what was happening when I heard my father's familiar voice outside the door, and then the click of his shoes on the white malleable floor.Moments later, the door popped open and he walked in. He was wearing black pants, plant T-shirts, black boots, and a long furry black coat that grazed his boots. His silver hair was packed in a bun, matching his silver eyes, and highlighting the structure of his beautiful face. He looked gorgeous. I made a mental note to ask him how old he was.“How're you feeling?” He asked, taking a seat beside my bed.“Much better”.“Thank you so much for the flower, the physician h

We're now all sitting in the throne room.We buried Jayden’s father a week ago, and though there's still tension in the air, the fighting has stopped, and the pack is finally willing to accept Jayden as their leader, with me by his side.Marcus turns to me with another crown in his hands, and a murmur starts to go among the crowd.“I still don't understand why we have to accept her as our Luna”, one of the elders in the crowd says.“We won, you're hardly in a position to make suggestions”, Eric says. I'm dressing up to go and join Jayden and the others on the battlefield. Things are getting tougher for them. This whole fight, as much as I hate to admit it, it's all because of me. If Jayden hadn't chosen to be with me, then all this won't be happening. I can't let anyone die because of me. Not anymore.“I'm going to join the others”, I say to Maddie, packing my hair in a high bun.“You’re not going anywhere”, Maddie replies, planting herself in front of me. Betty and Anne went along with the boys to fight, while Maddie stayed behind to protect me.It was agreed I wouldn't fight because of my supposed pregnancy and the fact that I was the major reason the fight was happening in the first place. Killing me would be the best way to win.“I have to help, they're all out there risking their life because of me”, I say to Maddie.“They're n

Jayden’s POV“Are you ready?” Draco asks me.We're standing head-to-head with our opponents. It's time to fight. We're all in our wolf form, waiting for the battle line to be drawn. My uncle is visibly the largest wolf among us, though I'm slightly close to his size since I have two wolves. My Dad who insisted on fighting with us is standing a few feet from us. He is a warrior white wolf so he is almost up to my size. My pack’s council starts to walk towards us. They stop just a stone's throw from us. They're three extremely old great whites that have lived for probably a hundred years. They're revered and feared by all.“I see you went to join your son, Edward”, Castiel, one of the trio says. He is a handsome, well-built man, looking very much like he just reached his fifties. He is the leader of the trio.“He is my blood, and I believe he has a right to choose his love”, my father replies.“The pack comes before love”, Marcus says. He looks a bit older than Castiel.“I've always th

He asked me to leave, so why is he asking for me now?My uncle walks outside his castle to a black Phantom parked in front of the building.“Get in”, he orders, taking the wheel.“Where are we going?” I ask.“To see your mother”, he replies.By going to see my mom, my uncle meant going to see my mother's grave. He took her body that day, seven years ago, and he never let us see her again.“Why are you suddenly letting me visit her?” I ask, trying to control the emotions raging inside me.“Because she has been asking of you. She won't let me rest if I don't help you, so I don't have a choice. My uncle runs his hands through his black long hair as he starts the car.“Does she speak to you?” I ask after a while.“Yes. There are many things I want to do to you, Jovita”, he whispers in my ears, climbing on top of me, his weight supported by his hands. He is in a push-up position. His wet hair drips on my face, and I squirm, laughing. He places a soft kiss on my face before his hands start to explore my body. We haven't been this close since forever, and it feels good to hold him again.“It's fine, Jayden. You have to stop blaming yourself for your mother's death. You aren't the creator, and it was all bound to happen”, I whisper.“If only I had stopped her, things would have been so different”, Jayden replies.“It's the past now, and she would want you to let go of the guilt. She would want you to be happy”.“I don't deserve to be happy, Jovita”.“Of course you do”.“Everything I touch burns. Everyone around me gets heartbroken”.“You know that's not true”.“It's true, Jovita. I can't help but admire how his shirt smells like the rich cologne and the lovely smell I can only describe as Jayden. When I reach the pool, Jayden is already in the water. I can see water falling from his black hair. He smiles and pushes his hair back with one hand, his eyes twinkling with surprise.“Are you going to swim in that?” He asks, his eyes darkening as they take in my body. Impulsively, I tug at the bottom of his black T-shirt, trying to push it as far as it would go.“Yes”, I reply to his question feeling stupid. What was I so shy about? We've slept together about five times now.“Come on, are you shy, mate?” Jayden says, laughing.“I don't know”. I feel helpless right now.Jayden takes his bottom lips between his teeth, and I can s

I can't bear that”.“It's you I'm choosing no matter what”, I say to Jovita, taking her hands.“Jayden?” Jovita whispers, her eyes glossy from the tears that are building up.“Please don't refuse me, Jovita.
