Jayden's POV

I stare at her apprehensively, while she gives me a quizzical look.

“Fine, I'll tell you alright, just calm down”, I tell her. Stealing for time. I have to make her very happy before I break the news to her. It won't be easy to tell her I just killed her ex-best friend.

“You better have a very good explanation. You left the house before daybreak, and now you're returning at dusk”, she mumbled, walking towards her room.

“Have you had dinner yet?” Maybe I could start by making dinner, I reason.

“No”. She looked surprised that I asked.

“Can I make something for you?” I walk up to where she's standing on the stairs and pull her to me, my eyes scanning her body. She's wearing a short sleeveless, polka dot dress that perfectly highlights her curves. On her feet are a pair of white Zara slippers, and black hair is falling down her back in wavy curls. She looks appealing.

She smiles. “Why're you suddenly wanting to make me dinner?”

“Do I have to have a reason to? You look amazin

Jovita's POV I waited patiently as Jayden took his shower, the nightgown I wore barely covering my thigh. I had no problem wearing it, but Jayden was a door away. Just thinking about that made my heart pound. And then there was his amazing body, abs as hard as rock, biceps firm and strong, clenching and unclenching as he'd closed the door behind him."Jovita" I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of Jayden's voice and I looked up. I couldn't believe I spent all that time thinking about him. I turned to him just in time to catch his hazel eyes roaming my body, his dark hair dripping wet and rivulets of water running down his chest, abs, and arms. Everything about him screams smoking-hot.I shiver, not because of the cold, but because of him. My heart is beating wildly, and my anticipation is killing me. He gulped visibly and I felt my stomach turn at his sight. I got up from the bed slowly, each step I took forward was like walking on air itself, everything felt unsteady, ha

Jovita's POV “Are you okay?” Jayden asks, placing a kiss on my forehead. “Did it hurt? Are you okay?”“I'm fine”, I assure him truthfully. It had been painful at first, but now I feel fine.“You know I love you right?”“I do”.He kisses me again, then lies on his back. A worried expression spreads on his face.“Is something wrong?” I ask, worried. Was I that bad? Did he not enjoy our lovemaking? I'm nervous right now.He probs himself on one of his arms. “Don't say that my love, it was good. It was better than great, it was the best”, he answers my thoughts.I roll my eyes. He's only saying this thing because it's me. I'm sure he has been with more experienced girls that know what to do, and when to do.He turns and takes my hands in his. “Look at me”, he says. I obey.“Those other girls were good, true, but I never loved them. I love you, and that's all that matters”.“You sure?”“I'm fucken sure”. He places a kiss on my forehead.“Why do you have a worried expression on, then?”

Jovita's POV“She's my younger sister, and she will be staying with us for a while”, my mom says, with a nervous smile. I can see her hands are twisted behind her. She only does that when she's anxious.“Mom?” I call, eyeing her suspiciously. She was hiding something from me, I could tell. My mom is a terrible liar.“I'll start dinner. Can you help me with the flour?” She headed for the kitchen cupboard, not waiting for my reply. Okay, now it's getting self-evident she's hiding something.“Mom I…”“Go help your mother, child”, my Mimoh's voice snapped.I turn to stare at her, and she returns the gesture with a death glare. I'm forced to look away immediately. Mimoh can be a bit intimidating. More than a bit.We finished cooking and sat down for dinner. After dinner, I walked to my room and immediately checked my phone to see if Jayden had texted me, but he hadn't.I start pacing around my room worriedly. I hope he's fine. He was acting weird earlier.I fall asleep, waiting for Jayden’

“Pass the plate of beef please”, Phil says to Conan.“Have mercy on the beef, Phil”, Eric says, erupting laughter from the others.Phil shoots him a death stare, adjusting his dark brown, long hair. We're having dinner at Conan's mansion to celebrate Eric and I’s departure. We leave tomorrow.“Eat up, Jayden”, Phil whispered. He is sitting on my right, while Eric is on my left. Conan is beside Phil, and Seth is beside Eric. We're seated around a small table filled with different varieties of dishes.“Thanks, Phil”, I reply. I can barely digest food right now. My heart was breaking, and the image of Jovita's unconscious body in the woods burned my memory. She had fainted after reading my message. What if I hadn't been following her? She would have been there all by herself. What if something bad had happened to her? I would never have been able to forgive myself. I only told her about my departure. I didn't even tell her about killing her ex-best friend. She'd be furious when she find

Jovita's POV “Are you going to meet Jayden wearing that?” Maddie asks, her voice filled with disapproval. “What?” I ask, rolling my eyes. “My outfit is okay. Is not like I'm trying to impress him”. I'm still wearing the clothes I wore to Maddie's house this morning. I see nothing wrong with them, though. “It's a full moon, Jovita. A time when couples share intimacy and wolf out together. It's a time to build bonds. Yes, I know you're very angry at Jayden right now, and you have every reason to be, but I won't let you leave this house like this. You have to impress him, whether you like it or not”, Maddie says authoritatively”. “No”. I stubbornly cross my arms over my chest. There's nothing she's going to do that would change my mind, or so I thought. Lol. Minutes later, I'm dressed in a green, long-sleeved, collar blouse, neatly tucked into a white, short, flay skirt with colourful flowers imprinted on it. Maddie curled my hair and put a silver necklace on my neck and wrist. On m

Jovita's POV Jayden stops in front of a breathtaking penthouse. It's painted a lovely shade of cream and deep chocolate brown. The interior is covered with the same colour, from the curtains to the furniture, and windows. The surrounding of the house is filled with well-mowed grasses and lush trees. The whole place looks magical.Jayden leads me inside and sits on the modern cream three-sitter couch with brown pillows arranged on it.He taps on the space beside him, but I ignore him, and sit at the end of the couch. He looks uncertain, and I can see his hands twisting nervously.“Okay, where do I start? I'm sorry for not telling you about my departure until it became this close. I couldn't bring myself to tell you because I was too scared to hurt you. Now I realise that I only hurt you more by keeping it a secret until now”, Jayden says looking down. Seeing him so vulnerable, I feel my heart melt, but I ignore it. He killed my best friend and hid it from me. Screw love right now, Ja

  • Descendant of the moon goddess.   A fire

Jovita's POV“Stay away from me”, the three voices warn again.I'm super scared right now, but I'm certainly not leaving Jayden. If he's speaking in three voices that means he has two wolves. Is that even possible? I take another step closer. I'd be lying if I say am not scared, but running away is not an option for me.“I won't, I can't stay away, Jayden”, I reply, advancing until I'm only a few feet from him.The aura around him is too powerful and I hear my wolf growl painfully in my head. Even if I have not wolfed out yet, the aura is too strong for me. A person who has gotten their wolf would probably be lying unconscious on the floor right now.“I can't control myself anymore, Jovita. You don't want to see me this way”, he said between clenched teeth. I notice his body is shaking violently and his hands are clasped firmly together. His eyes are shining as bright as gold bars placed under the sun.“You won't hurt me and I know that”. I know that whatever happens, Jayden will nev

The event of last night flows back to me, and I feel my cheeks go red. I lie down for a bit admiring the the beauty of the room. Whoever designed this house must have been extra skilled.I stand up and stretch, my eyes scanning the room for Jayden, but he's nowhere in sight.I hurriedly get dressed and proceed to search the house. After five minutes, I'm back in the room with a painful feeling in my chest. Jayden is gone!I turn to see a note lying on the bedside table. I pick it up and start to read as tears flow down my eyes. The note is short and simple.“Knowing you has been my greatest pleasure. It griefs me to leave your side, and I know everything would remind me of you. But I'm lucky though, because grief is an expression of love. And those who grieve are those who are lucky to have loved”.I had been so caught up in my anger about Uriel's death to gra

We're now all sitting in the throne room.We buried Jayden’s father a week ago, and though there's still tension in the air, the fighting has stopped, and the pack is finally willing to accept Jayden as their leader, with me by his side.Marcus turns to me with another crown in his hands, and a murmur starts to go among the crowd.“I still don't understand why we have to accept her as our Luna”, one of the elders in the crowd says.“We won, you're hardly in a position to make suggestions”, Eric says. I'm dressing up to go and join Jayden and the others on the battlefield. Things are getting tougher for them. This whole fight, as much as I hate to admit it, it's all because of me. If Jayden hadn't chosen to be with me, then all this won't be happening. I can't let anyone die because of me. Not anymore.“I'm going to join the others”, I say to Maddie, packing my hair in a high bun.“You’re not going anywhere”, Maddie replies, planting herself in front of me. Betty and Anne went along with the boys to fight, while Maddie stayed behind to protect me.It was agreed I wouldn't fight because of my supposed pregnancy and the fact that I was the major reason the fight was happening in the first place. Killing me would be the best way to win.“I have to help, they're all out there risking their life because of me”, I say to Maddie.“They're n

It's time to fight. We're all in our wolf form, waiting for the battle line to be drawn. My uncle is visibly the largest wolf among us, though I'm slightly close to his size since I have two wolves. My Dad who insisted on fighting with us is standing a few feet from us. He is a warrior white wolf so he is almost up to my size. My pack’s council starts to walk towards us. They stop just a stone's throw from us. They're three extremely old great whites that have lived for probably a hundred years. They're revered and feared by all.“I see you went to join your son, Edward”, Castiel, one of the trio says. He is a handsome, well-built man, looking very much like he just reached his fifties. He is the leader of the trio.“He is my blood, and I believe he has a right to choose his love”, my father replies.“The pack comes before love”, Marcus says. He looks a bit older than Castiel.“I've always th

He asked me to leave, so why is he asking for me now?My uncle walks outside his castle to a black Phantom parked in front of the building.“Get in”, he orders, taking the wheel.“Where are we going?” I ask.“To see your mother”, he replies.By going to see my mom, my uncle meant going to see my mother's grave. He took her body that day, seven years ago, and he never let us see her again.“Why are you suddenly letting me visit her?” I ask, trying to control the emotions raging inside me.“Because she has been asking of you. She won't let me rest if I don't help you, so I don't have a choice. My uncle runs his hands through his black long hair as he starts the car.“Does she speak to you?” I ask after a while.“Yes. There are many things I want to do to you, Jovita”, he whispers in my ears, climbing on top of me, his weight supported by his hands. He is in a push-up position. His wet hair drips on my face, and I squirm, laughing. He places a soft kiss on my face before his hands start to explore my body. We haven't been this close since forever, and it feels good to hold him again.“It's fine, Jayden. You have to stop blaming yourself for your mother's death. You aren't the creator, and it was all bound to happen”, I whisper.“If only I had stopped her, things would have been so different”, Jayden replies.“It's the past now, and she would want you to let go of the guilt. She would want you to be happy”.“I don't deserve to be happy, Jovita”.“Of course you do”.“Everything I touch burns. Everyone around me gets heartbroken”.“You know that's not true”.“It's true, Jovita. Jovita's POVI take off my clothes and head outside to meet Jayden. Thankfully I wore my favorite black undies. I reach the door and then turn back. I'm too shy to go out there to meet him in only a bra and panties. So I wear Jayden's shirt. I can't help but admire how his shirt smells like the rich cologne and the lovely smell I can only describe as Jayden. When I reach the pool, Jayden is already in the water. I can see water falling from his black hair. He smiles and pushes his hair back with one hand, his eyes twinkling with surprise.“Are you going to swim in that?” He asks, his eyes darkening as they take in my body. Impulsively, I tug at the bottom of his black T-shirt, trying to push it as far as it would go.“Yes”, I reply to his question feeling stupid. What was I so shy about? We've slept together about five times now.“Come on, are you shy, mate?” Jayden says, laughing.“I don't know”. I feel helpless right now.Jayden takes his bottom lips between his teeth, and I can s

I can't bear that”.“It's you I'm choosing no matter what”, I say to Jovita, taking her hands.“Jayden?” Jovita whispers, her eyes glossy from the tears that are building up.“Please don't refuse me, Jovita.
