Ethan P.O.V

After ensuring I had control over the situation, Chen Lien and I headed straight to Huang, Shanghai’s biggest gambling district. It’s not as large as Chengzu, but it has enough business space for me.

As I puffed on my cigarette, Chen Lien scanned the surroundings, making sure no one was around to interrupt our deal, especially Alesio’s men. That bastard, I’m sure he’ll do anything to get what he hasn’t managed to take from me yet.

The car that brought us to the location stopped in front of a small love hotel flanked by large casino buildings on both sides. Even though it was a small hotel, I was pretty surprised when I entered because the people there weren’t ordinary folks; they were all couriers and small-time dealers surviving by scamming and selling a bit of stuff from people like me.

Besides them, I also saw a few officials sitting with sexily dressed prostitutes, perfectly curved bodies and round chests prominently displayed, using their charms to entice the perverte

Claire P.O.VIt feels totally insane. How could I be so mad and lock myself up when I'm in a place I might never get to visit again in my life? So, after I saw Ethan leave with Chen Lien and the others, I went downstairs, planning to explore the whole city—my first time in this foreign place. But when I reached for the door handle, a guard stopped me, asking me not to leave the villa under any circumstances."I just want to look around,” I said.“You still have to wait for Alpha Ethan to come back.""I'm not waiting for that jerk to return. I don't even know where he went or why!" I fumed, feeling like I was arguing over nothing."You can wait in your room until that happens." He tried to touch my hand, but I quickly stepped away. Because I knew if I complied, I'd be locked in that room."Can you cooperate with us?" the man asked. "If Alpha Ethan finds out you escaped, it won't just be you who gets punished; we'll be dead too."I narrowed my eyes. "Dead? Is that your job in contract?"

Claire P.O.V“How long do you want to stand there? Come in. Didn’t you want to go to the night market like you talked about when you were on a flight?”Ethan urged me to move on. He was already behind the wheel, wearing a grey blazer over a black t-shirt. A t-shirt might not fit his personality, but seeing him in it with that blazer made it work. At least he didn’t look like a gangster.I quickly hopped in, sat right beside him, and buckled up. For a moment, everything seemed normal. But then, I realized this was the first time I’d seen Ethan drive alone. He never did that; even when he picked me up at the beachfront restaurant the other day, he let Danny do that. Never once had he driven himself.Of course, he has plenty of people who’d happily do that for him.“Where’s Chen Lien? Isn’t he coming?” I asked after buckling up.“Now he’s on meeting with another client.”“About your drugs?”Ethan gave a slight smile. “Do you think that’s all my business is about?”“Then what else? Claire P.O.V“I don’t get what you’re saying, sir. Nothing is tying me to Ethan Randall.” I tried to keep eye contact with him, even though deep down, I was terrified.Yes, I was terrified. His eyes held a chilling power that made my feet turn to ice. My body trembled, but I fought to keep it under control. I knew he would relish in my fear, thinking he had won by using Ethan Randall’s name to crush me.The man sighed, exhaling the last cigar smoke, then tossed the half-lit cigar out the window. It looked like he was throwing away trash, but from his actions, it seemed like he was gearing up to say something new to me.“I know you’re a good girl, and it’s not right for you to stay under Ethan Randall’s thumb, especially considering he could ditch you anytime.” Yep, he was getting started.I knew it was a provocation, and I was sure this guy had a problem with Ethan just by seeing him once back then. So, I just shook my head and smiled, responding calmly to everything he said.“I find

Claire P.O.VI tossed the food wrapper I just finished into the trash can that wasn't too far from us. Even though Ethan initially wanted us to leave the place immediately, I still wanted to enjoy the night outside the big villa, which felt stuffy, so we ended up staying here."You sure you don't wanna leave yet?""Of course. This is fun. Hearing street music that's different from my old place, seeing people with different clothes and ways of speaking, even different languages. It's just too fun to miss," I answered.Ethan clicked his tongue in annoyance and laughed at what I said. "Huh, what kind of nonsense are you talking about? You never even left that church dorm for years, right? So why are you talking like you're actually enjoying something you've missed?""I didn't go out often. But didn't I say that I often went with Sister Alberta to attend some important masses at big churches in several Packs? There's no reason for me to feel that this is my first time in a foreign place,

There might be other ways to sever our connection, but none seem as effective as killing Claire to cut all ties.Yet, a part of me rejects this plan. Killing isn't new to me—I've done it since I was thirteen. But I've never killed someone close to me. Sure, I've killed prostitutes who were spies for my business rivals, but never someone I slept with willingly. It's almost dawn, but I can't sleep. Usually, I'm more comfortable in foreign places than with my own Pack because I don't have to deal with Pack matters or see Lucy.I walk to the window and see that Shanghai's night is still bright, even though it's almost dawn. It should be quiet outside, with only the guardians on duty, but I see Chen Lien and Claire enjoying a bottle of wine and some food.I cross my arms, watching Chen Lien finish his work without reporting to me. Besides, didn't Claire eat a lot of snacks at the night market and even

Quite a sight to see, especially after I was so angry at the owner of these items on the plane yesterday.Feeling like I'd just been handed the sweetest gift, I smiled as I lifted the bag to examine it from above. "Look at this, how beautiful it is," I praised."I also got this from Don Azacha's kids," Chen Lien said, handing me a red folder filled with some very important papers, given their unpredictable source."Looks like they've figured out your moves from how you've been beefing with Alesio Huggman. So, after I handed over what you ordered, they immediately gave this to me."I put the bag of fingers and teeth back on the table and turned my attention to the folder Chen Lien had handed me. Upon opening it, I was surprised to find property deeds and land certificates for the entire Chengzu district. This is a stroke of luck I'll never get twice in a lifetime. Just by giving something

Where else could I get information about this guy if not from Ethan or Chen Lien?I stared at Ethan, who hadn't moved an inch from his seat. This was rare, considering that during our trip to Shanghai a while back, Ethan was too busy to sit for even a minute at the villa, especially after our night market adventure. I spent more time with Chen Lien. But now, Chen Lien was nowhere to be seen.Since we returned to The Silver Fire Packhouse, my movements were restricted by Lucy Torrance's presence. Ethan’s P.O.VThe night sky was pitch-black, heavy clouds looming overhead like a bad omen. Ethan stood at the edge of the forest, his sharp gaze scanning the terrain ahead. Beside him were his Warriors—fearless men and women who’d follow him to hell and back. They all knew tonight's mission was a gamble, but their loyalty to Ethan, their leader, outweighed the fear creeping up their spines.“We hit ‘em head-on. No mercy,” Ethan's voice rang out, solid as steel. The Warriors responded with synchronized nods, ready to roll.Up north, Malvic Stalon, Alpha of the Lycans, awaited the signal. In the dead silence, the towering Lycans stood in their full forms—living, breathing war machines. Muscles rippled under thick hides; claws and razor-sharp fangs gleamed as the fractured moonlight kissed their lethal silhouettes.“This is it. We crush the Moon Fall Pack!” Malvic’s voice thundered, icy and deadly. No way were they giving Christopher Gale’s lackeys a free pass. Didn’t matter if those wo

Chasing my wild ambitions, building my empire over other races. I was strong, way smarter than you werewolves, but the more I realized I couldn’t do everything I wanted because of limits, the less I wanted it. Maybe you should start thinking the same.”“But she’s my Luna!” I shouted to him.“And she’s the next Alpha of this Pack.” He shot back, his tone sharp, emotions barely held in check. “Even though you’re fated mates, there’s no personal bond between you two. So, when this is over, you can go back to your life, and I’ll take responsibility for hers.”What the hell? Hearing him say all this infuriating stuff, I couldn’t even muster a single word in response. It felt like I was being crushed into useles

Ethan's P.O.VMalvic Stalon—the Alpha of the Lycans from the North. This is seriously something else. How could the elders in this Pack pull off something like this? I mean, from the North to this Pack is a crazy long distance, at least two days’ journey. And during all that time, the warriors and all the loyalists guarding Christopher Gale’s mansion didn’t catch wind of his arrival? That’s just nuts. No way that’s possible.Even if the warriors were as oblivious as a brick wall, ignoring the presence of another species within the Pack is not something any of us would take lightly. And let’s be real, Werewolves and Lycans are like oil and water—silent enemies. There’s no official declaration of hatred between us, but Lycans and their “holier-than-thou” attitude make us Werewolves sick. That arrogance fuels our endless animosity—a beef with no expiration date. What’s more, everyone pretty much knows about the Northern Lycans’ beef with Christopher Gale. Rumor has it the fake Alpha snat

Ethan's P.O.VAfter patching up some wounds and catching our breath for a bit, we took off, trailing Andara Spectra up a hill near the ridges surrounding The Moon Fall Pack. The old lady—once part of the Elders from that big Pack—claimed she’d be performing a summoning there, saying an Elder resided in that area, only showing up at the Pack when Christopher Gale called for meetings. I probably should’ve been more suspicious about this, but Andara Spectra wasn’t giving off any shady vibes. Even Chen Lien, who had a nose for deception, didn’t pick up on anything sketchy from the old woman. So, we figured we might as well follow her lead. The spot was a bit of a hike, tucked into the forest. But when we got there, we saw a small cabin, and from it, we had a clear view of Christopher Gale’s fancy-ass mansion. I’d been there once before—back when we first struck this deal. The negotiations started off smooth, but the second I found out that the person I was supposed to capture in exchan

Claire’s P.O.VI couldn’t freaking believe what was right in front of me. It was Sister Alberta and the orphanage kids—the only family I ever knew, the people I thought were dead. But they weren’t. They were alive, trapped behind metal bars in some dark, cold room inside the ridiculously lavish mansion of Christopher Gale. That fake-ass Alpha. I had spent years believing he had slaughtered my family, only to find out the bastard had been keeping them hidden, away from me. Why? Just to break me. Just to see me drown in despair. My eyes locked onto Sister Alberta, her frail figure seated in a wheelchair, being pushed closer by Sister Annabella so our hands could touch through the bars. I couldn’t hold back my tears anymore. The kids were wailing, their cries echoing in the room, filled with fear, hopelessness, and a longing that cut deep into my soul. Her wrinkled hand reached out to me, trembling, desperate. I tried to do the same, but before I could, Christopher Gale yanked my w

  • Depth Rough: She Was The Unwanted Luna   87. Arrival & A Plan

Following Chen Lien's directions, I quickly asked my warriors to prep the plane. We're flying over to The Moon Fall Pack to pick up Claire. Therefore, I decided to head back to my Pack, personally imprison Lucy, and request the Elders to immediately integrate Sir Torrance's Pack into The Silver Fire Pack. I didn’t want to waste time and effort doing it another day.Upon arriving at my Pack, I was greeted by Andara Spectra, the former Elder of The Moon Fall Pack.Andara informed me that neither she nor Octa found anything on the escape route that Lucy Torrance created to facilitate Christopher Gale's plans. She even requested some guards to plant explosives on that route to destroy it, ensuring no one could use it in the future.Honestly, I liked that decision because, aside from having Octa with her, I also noticed that Andara's skills as an Elder were still top-notch. Her intuition remained sharp, and she was still wise. It showed when she made the Rogue Wolves in that forest much mo

  • Depth Rough: She Was The Unwanted Luna   86. Truth & Lies

Claire’s P.O.VRight in front of me stood a massive, jaw-dropping mansion. Almost the entire exterior was made of marble, making it look ridiculously solid, like, no way could even a thousand of the strongest wolf fangs take this thing down. I’d only ever seen a packhouse twice in my life, one of them being Ethan’s. And yeah, that one was impressive, but this? This mansion blew Ethan’s out of the water. Way more majestic, sturdier… or maybe just eerily quieter. “Why are you just standing there? Go on, step inside. After all, this mansion was yours to begin with.” Christopher Gale spoke like he was offering some grand, heartfelt welcome, like I was supposed to be grateful or something. Wait, what did he just say? Mine to begin with? Had I actually lived in a place like this before I became an orphan and was raised by the nuns at the convent? Why did his words sound so sweet and yet cut so deep at the same time? Is this just how he is? Showering his soon-to-be victims with compliment

Ethan’s P.O.VBlood pooled on the ground, mixing with the ash and dust of the ruins. The night air reeked of burning flesh, agonized screams, and the final gasps of those foolish enough to resist. A pack that once stood proud under Alpha Torrance’s rule. Now reduced to rubble and corpses. If only the civilians had just stayed put and watched, maybe they wouldn’t have died such meaningless deaths. Wasn’t that exactly what I ordered after letting my warriors unleash absolute carnage on this pack? Pathetic. A damn shame to witness, but even more frustrating to remember. Because no matter how much I hate to admit it, this pack had once meant something to me—to all of us. But their heir—Lucy Torrance, decided to play traitor. And that? That, I could never let slide. I stood amidst the chaos, my breath ragged, heart still pounding with adrenaline coursing through my veins. My hands were coated in blood some of it belonged to my enemies, some to those stupid enough to stand in my way to

Claire's P.O.V This was one hell of a long journey—way longer than I ever could’ve imagined. When Ethan took me from my old Pack to the Silver Fire Pack, he had us fly in a private jet, cutting the travel time short. But this bastard? He was dragging me through an endless nightmare. I had no clue where the hell this so-called Moon Fall Pack was, but he kept driving, twisting and turning like he was deliberately trying to confuse me. For the rest of the trip, I didn’t say a damn word to Christopher Gale. He did the same—silent, no small talk, nothing. Honestly, that was probably for the best. If we had talked, all I would’ve gotten from him was a bunch of sarcastic bullshit. The car had been speeding down this pitch-black, deserted road for about two hours now. There wasn’t a single streetlight, not even the faintest glow outside the window. Just pure, suffocating darkness. It was like we had left civilization behind and were driving straight into some forsaken void. But then,
