Claire P.O.V
"Why do you keep looking at me like that?"
I'm getting fed up with what that guy next to me has been up to. He paid for all the food that Jane and Agatha ordered, then took off with Hendrik, leaving me hanging at the restaurant.
I even tried to find them at the beach, but surprise, surprise, they weren't there, and Agatha's car was gone too. They might pull something like this, but I wanted to tag along. Am I just being naive? That's not what they had in mind. They put me in a tough spot and made me look like a fool in front of everyone.
"Hey! Stop staring at me like that!" I shot him a glare because he wouldn't stop.
"Do you even realize who I am and where you stand?"
My heart skipped a beat when he said that. I stared at the sand under my feet, noticing a few grains stuck in my shoes. It took me back to when I first met him and how my body reacted.
Thinking about guys like Hendrik is different. Whether we touched hands or not, there was never any spark. But with this guy, it felt like I was being pulled into a whole new world I didn't even know existed, and he was right there with me.
Since that night, my inner wolf insisted that this guy was my Mate. It felt like the moon goddess had sent him my way. But a part of me also wanted to push him away. It's not like 'I crave food when I'm stuffed, but more like being forced to eat when I'm not hungry at all.'
I couldn't shake the feeling that meeting him was destiny and a mistake. I had this gut feeling he wasn't a good person, but remembering the moon goddess's gift made it hard to deny. Still, I didn't want to face that truth.
So, I just shook my head. "Nope. I don't know who you are. Thanks for helping me yesterday and today."
Instead of feeling let down, insulted, or furious, this guy just laughed. She rubbed her forehead and then pushed her hair back with a sigh. I don't know what that move means, but honestly, this guy must be out of his mind.
"Okay, I won't bring it up again. But what if I introduce you to something you've never experienced, like being in heat, for instance?"
I tightened my fists. Looking at him now, that grin on his face is just infuriating. "Are you out of your mind?! Why would you even say that to me? Go find someone else for that!"
"Oh, really? When I found who else did you suggest I look for?" he replied, still grinning. It wasn't just any grin. It was pure mockery, and I could see it clear as day.
"You're—"
He leaned in closer before I could say anything, catching me off guard, and then quickly pulled back to maintain some space between us.
"What's the deal? Are you worried that if you catch a whiff of my pheromones again, you'll get all worked up and lose it? Or are you just scared that it'll unleash even more pheromones and trap us in here for something crazy?"
"Can you please tone it down? I'm not the woman you think I am." I raised my voice slightly, but he seemed to enjoy the game.
He leaned in close, whispering in my ear like he was trying to flirt. "So, what kind of woman are you? Do you like it when someone constantly courts you, or do you prefer to be treated like a queen?"
I wasn't having any of his games, so I pushed him away. "Back off, that's not what I'm about."
"Then what makes you think I'm asking you something? Isn't it a bit nicer than just leaving you stuck in that restaurant with a bill you can't cover?"
"Are you asking me to pay you back?" I shot him a fiery look, determined to have the final say. He just stared at me, no smile in sight. "If that's the case, just drive me to the hostel, and I'll pay you again," I said.
"You're quite the fearless one," he said, sounding more sarcastic than sincere.
That didn't feel like a compliment at all. It felt like a cleverly disguised jab, confirming his view of me, which was the opposite of how I saw myself.
"Fine, I'll take you back to the dorm, but you better make it worth my while. And just so you know, I don't need your money." He said.
He flashed that infuriating smirk again. As he walked away, I was left behind, yelling like an idiot, trying to figure out what he wanted from me.
I trailed him to a black BMW I look at church earlier. This time, though, he was alone, and no one else was around to play chauffeur.
He told me to hop in. I had to go along with no other options or cash to get home. But instead of taking me straight to the hostel, he pulled over on the side of the road.
"Why are we stopping here?" I asked him as he turned off the engine. "What's going on?"
"I'll be back in London in twenty-four hours," he said out of the blue.
I shook my head, my forehead wrinkled in confusion. "I'm sorry, but I just don't get it what you mean it." I said to him with my confuse.
After I said that, he turned to look at me. Her stunning eyes locked onto mine, silent at first. Then, he leaned in closer, burying his face in the curve of my neck, taking in my scent like he was trying to memorize it.
I was ready to push him away, but he quickly grabbed my shoulder and said, "You're my Mate. It wouldn't be true if you didn't feel something when we first met, right?"
Ethan P.O.VI was swinging the chair back and forth, playing my hand. My thoughts were a bit hazy; so much was going on that it felt overwhelming, like I couldn't catch my breath."Alpha, how much longer are we going to hang out here? We wrapped up our deal last night, and Alonso in Rome is already on the move. They've got hundreds of millions ready for a contract with Sir Chen Lien.""Come on, Danny, give it a rest! Can't you see I'm deep in thought?" I replied without looking at him, but I caught him shaking his head out of the corner of my eye.Danny shook his head. "Nah, all I notice is you fiddling with your chair."I shot him a glare, stood up, and faced him. "I was reflecting on that woman we spotted last night at the deal. Can't you get that this goes beyond just cash?""What are you saying, Alpha? She's not your Mate, so why are you even thinking about her over money?""Yes, she is.""W—what?""I didn't invite you over just to make fun of me messing around with my chair. But
Ethan P.O.VI walked over to the parking lot, hopped in my car, and drove to the only spot I knew in this tiny town—a little church at the edge of it all.I ran into him this morning, intrigued by what he mentioned about living in a church. I dropped her off last night, but I couldn't determine if she was honest with me.So, I decided to swing by the church this morning to check things out. When I spotted her among the church officials, it hit me that he wasn't a smooth talker. At first, I thought she'd be just like that other woman, but she turned out to be more like her dad. I realized that the genes of Jacob Wensiker were way better than that jerk who had already taken half of what I owned. From the car, I noticed the church was shrouded in darkness, with only the glow from the outside lights breaking through. Honestly, there's nothing remarkable about a church. It's just a spot for those with faith to gather, while I'm just a guy who's knee-deep in chaos daily. Not too far from th
Ethan P.O.V"Ah—nnh—hmng!"I put my two fingers inside her pussy, and it felt so wet. I felt a thick liquid seeping out of there. It's just the further I put my finger, I think a little that the uterus is quite far away. I can't reach it with just a finger, and she doesn't seem affected by my actions. The uterus stays in place, not moving an inch to touch the tip of my finger.I complimented myself on my actions because I let out only after letting her inhale more pheromones. For the first time, I saw how a woman was affected so much towards my pheromones, and it made me very aroused, even more aroused by the erotic sounds she emitted. Long enough for me to reach her first climax. I'm not sure if I will be able to do that, but I won't be able to do that.Claire whimpered; she almost lost consciousness, but I immediately kissed her, made her come back and pushed my chest with what little energy she had left."Let me go! Please," she said in a disjointed tone and gasped as if she was in
Ethan P.O.VI stepped out of the car to check out the situation, and I was taken aback by a sister whose clothes were in tatters, tied up, and kneeling right in front of me. The nurse was pleading for her freedom.I looked over at the dorm, and it was pitch black. The lights that should've been on were entirely out. The people there were staring at me like they were ready to pounce.I've seen that kind of look before, so it didn't faze me. But seeing them hold a woman hostage and knowing there could be more people trapped in the dorm made my stomach turn.I'll be honest. I know I'm not the best person. My name's been linked to drug dealing, murder, human trafficking, and all sorts of shady stuff. But I've never used a woman as a human shield like they're doing now."Hand her over to us, Alpha Ethan."Is it that simple for you to ask for my most valued possession?"She's ours, Alpha Ethan."I couldn't help but laugh at that. Hers, huh? Who would be bold enough to claim that in front of
Claire POVIt was the third time Agatha and Jane had dumped a bucket of something gross on my head, ruining the outfit I had planned to wear for this morning's prayer service. It was now all dirty and smelled terrible."Ha! Look at you! This is a great lesson for daring to go against Agatha's orders!" Jane laughed as she plopped the empty bucket on my head. The stench was awful. I could tell it was a mix of dishwater and whatever mop they had used.As if that wasn't enough, Jane kicked me, and I ended up on the ground, my clothes now muddy and my body aching."I really don't get it. Why didn't you just choose to disappear? Who gave you the right to stick around and waste our church's money, making our parents spend more just to feed you?" Agatha kept ranting while banging the bucket on my head. The noise was unbearable and made my ears ring.I yanked the bucket off, and the horrible smell and noise got to me. I tossed it away, making Jane and Agatha even angrier.Agatha grabbed my ha
Ethan POV I kicked the blood-soaked body several times in front of me. Lying on the floor, he didn't move at all except for a moan that escaped his lips. It didn't matter if he would die if I kept doing it or not, but the upset I felt was still insatiable, as if I wouldn't stop if this man hadn't died. "Get Gilbert here." My orders. Frightened, he ran out of the room to call a man named Gilbert. While waiting, I pulled a handkerchief out of my pocket to wipe away the blood on my black shoes. It was disgusting; it was the first time my shoes had been soiled like this by someone whose life wasn't worth a penny. Finished wiping and throwing a dirty handkerchief full of blood on the man's face, I walked back to my table, poured vodka into a glass, and then drank it greedily. There were not enough glasses, so I poured another and drank it to the end. The one I had asked Gilbert to bring returned with an old man only briefly after that. His bald head was only slightly above the ear
Clare POV "Claire, can you help me clean up the prayer altar after this?" Sister Alberta said, asking for something that has become my daily routine. Nodding, I replied, "Of course, Sister, I'll do it after the cooking is finished." "You can ask Andy and Vicky to accompany you." "They must be tired. I must not interrupt their rest time after school. I'll do it myself, so just let them rest," "What a good girl, thank you, and don't forget to change the plaster on your forehead, it will heal in two days." I nodded. I was very happy when Nurse Alberta worried about me. It felt like I had a mother, although I never knew who my real mother was. After finishing lunch, I helped Sister Alberta prepare dinner. Then, I immediately did my daily duty: I cleaned the prayer altar for use the next morning. No one was in the church that afternoon, not even Hendrik, who was usually there to finish his work. I went to the priest's house, a little distance away, because Hendrik and the pries
Clare P.O.V I gasped when Sister Maria touched the scarf I was wearing. Turning around and holding the scarf, I awkwardly responded to Sister Maria, who looked at me in confusion. "Clare, did something happen when you bought the eggs earlier?" Sister Maria was curious. I shook my head, then tried to find an excuse. I smiled while tightening the scarf around my neck. "No. Nothing happened, sister. I was just a little lost and cold." Hearing that, Sister Maria felt so guilty. She apologized, took my hand, stroked it, and said, "I don't remember if you've ever been there. I'm sorry. Since I heard there's a new convenience store around the church, I thought if you knew, I would ask you to buy some eggs there." "But I managed to buy the eggs, right? Sister, needn't worry. I've also come home and feel a little warm now." I said, leaving Sister Maria to wash all the dirty dishes at the dinner table. "Clare, you can do that tomorrow, it's cold outside, don't take too long, come in and
