"OK, I guess today is the first time the two of us have personally talked."

"The rest of the time, there were always other people with us," Ladia said, nodding.

" Is the Archmage uncomfortable speaking with me alone?"

"If I get uncomfortable talking to a kid like you, I'd rather die," Cleo scoffed. "The princess with tainted hands, on the other hand, is someone I should be wary of."

Her words were not held back at all, slamming right into Ladia's most vulnerable spot.

There was a sigh heard.

Cleo sat up straight, proud and haughty.

"Don't judge me too harshly, Princess. But I'm not convinced that someone whose hands had been sullied by the blood of thousands and thousands of people would change so quickly."

"You are correct," Ladia agreed. "I can only show you through my actions, so please keep an eye on me. Anyway, on the subject of the student, what does Cleo think of him?"
