Chapter Two

Everyone stood frozen hearing the word that came out from the man. The other customers left the place already when they sensed that there might be trouble. They are just human and don't want to get involved with the supernaturals. Kian regained his senses and hold Vance's arm to pull it away from Kaleb's collar. He signaled Sean to turn the café sign to closed.

Sighing... "Can we not resort to violence and talk this out like matured men?" he said and they agreed. They are all now seated across to one another. "So care to tell me what's going on?" he asked although he already knew.

"You're my mate." Kian choked at his saliva because of the wolf's frankness. His friends snickered and Kian's eyes twitched and all of a sudden, his friends closed their eyes like they are suppressing pain. Kaleb and his pack noticed it. He looks at Theo to confirm if it's his doing but the vampire shakes his head 'no'. Theo can inflict on others if he wants to. That's his ability.

"Could it be?" Kaleb thought. He tried to read his mate's mind but he gets nothing. Even the others. He can't read their minds. His brows furrowed and Vance saw his frustration and smirk at him once again. Kian looked at him and the latter raised his hands surrendering. 

"Ehem. Are you going to keep staring at our friend or..?" Sean said with his eyebrow up

"We know that you guys didn't come here just to drink and eat," Myron added

"Well, yeah but, we didn't expect this to happen," Jax said

"Hm, no one does." Vance agreed

"Okay. So, why don't we start over? We are going to be a team. It will be nice if we get to know each other right?" Sean is trying to lighten the tensions. They all agreed but Kaleb is still locking his eyes towards his mate. His eyes are shifting it's color to gold while Kian on the other hand is avoiding his stare.

They look at him when Kian didn't say anything. Vance nudged him. He looked at him confused. "Introduce?" Vance, mind linked him and he blinked his eyes several times. "Guess will go first," Jax said making the youngers look at him. Kian nods at him.

"Okay, so my name is Jax, beta." Jax started followed by Dominic. "I', Dominic. You can call me Dom. gamma." he said in a friendly way. Theo scoffed at him. "Friendly with others but not with us. Anyways, I'm Theo. Dom's beloved." 

"Oohh~ cute! A vampire mate. My mate is him (pointing to Vance), and these two are mates too." Myron said excitedly. "So, what's your name? You're the next alpha king right?" he added

Kaleb glanced at him and look back again at Kian. "Yes. I am Kaleb Quin." Kian is now looking at him too. It turned silent after that. Vance clears his throat and turns to Kian, " Do you want me to tell them who you are or?" he asked teasingly and Kian glared at him.

Sighing... "I'm Kian Winter." he simply introduced himself. His knights nodded in understanding. It means Kian is still not trusting the others. Vance introduced himself next. "Vance Summers. Alpha." Then, "Sean, omega. And this is my mate Neo, an alpha too." Sean said and lastly, "Myron Winter. Omega." Hearing that he has the same surname as Kian, Jax asked if they are siblings. In which Myron replied that they are cousins. He then turns to Kian and asked if he's an omega too.

"I'm an alpha" Kaleb furrowed his brows while his pack was shocked. The knights are smirking. "No way! An alpha luna?!" Theo exclaimed. Kian looks at what his mate is thinking about him being an alpha. He blushed at how boldly Kaleb is claiming him inside his head. Kaleb doesn't care about it. Kian is his, period. 

'Oh? Why is our alpha luna blushing?" Jax teased him. Kian wanted to fry his brain but he can't do that. "Stop teasing my mate, Jax." Kaleb reprimanded his beta. Jax zipped his mouth. Kaleb is frustrated because he can't read his mate's thoughts.

"One more question..." Jax raised his hand. "Who is the Shadow Knights' leader?" he asked curiously. The knights turned their heads to the youngest and the pack nodded. Mew smirked feeling proud. "We want our identities hidden," Kian said calmly but you can feel the dominance. Kaleb finds it hot. Kian heard his thought and he blushed again. "And don't call us boy. Because we're not kids." Vance added. Kaleb apologized to him saying it's not him but his wolf, Night who called him boy. Kian smiled at that as his mate sincerely apologized.

Neo then asked their age. All of them are 22 years old and that made Sean asked the ever-sensitive Theo. "Really? Even you?" His question made the vampire flipped. "Yah! I'm 22! Not because I'm a vampire means I'm over a hundred years old." Theo stood up feeling offended... "tss..this brat. If we are not meant to work together, you are already whimpering in pain." he threatened but not seriously. But Kian didn't read his mind and took it seriously. He stands up abruptly that startled the other people.

"I dare you to do it in front of me," he said calmly but they can feel a very strong aura emitting from him. It sends chills to their spines.

'Kian, calm down...He's just joking.' Vance linked him. It's way better, that Kian is the one who is calming them down than the other way around.

He took a deep breath and close his eyes. When he opened his eyes, the atmosphere's back to normal. 'Never mess or threat his Knights in front of him.' The Midnight pack took note.

"Sorry. I just don't want anyone threatening my friends." Kian explained. They apologized to one another. "By the way, we are 21 years old except Kian. He's 20." Sean said making them nod. Then silence engulfs them. Until

"Can we talk privately?' Kaleb asked his mate. "Sure. Guys put back the open sign and get back to work" he ordered before telling Kaleb to follow him. 'Help them out' the alpha commanded his pack.

The moment they entered the office and sat; Kaleb didn't wait any longer. "We're mates" Kian sighed. He knew he can't avoid this talk since it's a big matter for the wolves. "Yes, we are but-' The moment the acknowledgment came out his mouth, Kaleb was in front of him, caging him from his seat. He stiffened more when Kaleb put his face on the crook of his neck to inhale his scent. "Hmmm...Mine," he said licking Kian's scent glands. The younger whimpered and Kaleb keeps on inhaling his neck.

His feelings reached Calvin and he linked his son making Kian jumped and pushed away Kaleb. Causing the wolf to whined in pain thinking that his mate is rejecting him. Kian saw the hurt in his mate's eyes and he smiled at him. Assuring him that he's not rejecting him. Kaleb smiled and observe him. Kian closed his eyes while talking to his dada who is going crazy again. Calvin might look scary, but with his husband and son, he's nothing but a big baby.

Kian exhaled when he's done talking with his parents and the moment he opened his eyes, his mate's face welcomed him. He screamed at how close their faces are. Kaleb finds him cute. Slowly, he keeps leaning his face making Kian move his head backward. "W-what are you doing?" he asked stuttering. 

His actions made Kaleb pouts. His mind is telling him that his mate doesn't want him. Kian read it and cupped his face. "I'm not gonna reject you. Don't think too much."

Kaleb searches his eyes for assurance. Kian sighed. "I'm telling you the truth. Stop listening to your brain." Kaleb was confused about that statement. Kian chuckled, "I can hear your thoughts, mate." 

"Really?" Kaleb asked and Kian nodded. He asked again if he's not going to reject him and he got the same answer. So, he decided to ask this one important thing; that is if it's okay for them to recite the mate's acceptance. The bright smile of Kian says it all. So, Kaleb starts...

"I, Kaleb Quin, future Alpha King of the wolves, accepts you-

"Kian Knight" Kian interjected. Though Kaleb is a bit confused, he continues... "Kian Knight, as my mate and future Luna and Queen of all wolves." he finished. Kian smiled and do his part. "I, Kian Knight, accepts to be Kaleb Quin's mate, Luna, and queen of all the wolves." With that being said, they can feel their bond getting stronger. A sting on their scent glands was felt. Both hissed at the sudden pain. A mark appeared.

Their marks looked like a whirlwind. Kaleb caressed the one on Kian's and ask, "Can I mark you now?" Kaleb wanted to mark him as his wolf mate. Where he needs to bite through his skin. Kian didn't think twice and agreed. "You can. I am yours as much as you are mine."

The wolf didn't waste more time and grabbed Kian's nape and slowly leaned to where his mark will be placed. "Aahh~" Kian moaned at the sensation. Kaleb's eyes are changing to black and gold. But a hint of bluish-grey circled his iris. He can feel a surge of energy entering his body while he drinks some of Kian's blood. Pulling out his canines, he lapped the wound to heal it. Pulling away, he saw Kian's eyes. It changed from hazel to purple with blue swirling in the middle. And without a warning. Kian plunged his teeth onto Kaleb's neck earning a hissed from him. He groaned and clutched the latter's neck.

"There, we have the same eyes now,"  Kian said grinning. Their eyes went back to normal after a few minutes. Kaleb shook his head chuckling. Their marks turned to a tribal moon with a howling wolf. Then, he realized something. "Kian Knight" he mumbled. Kian knew what's coming next so, he didn't wait and answer right away. "Yes. I am the Mage head councils' son. And please, keep it to yourself first." Kaleb nodded. Kian trusts his mate. He only revealed his identity, not about the secret of his birth. Because for him, there is a right time for it. For now, what's important is that he's finally with his mate, again.

They went back to their friends who start teasing them. They all notice the blush on their leaders' faces. Their fun was interrupted by a loud crash. Kian's eyes widened and...

"Hold your breaths!"
