Chapter Three

Kian suddenly shouts. They got startled when the window of the café broke because of a canister that was thrown.

"Myron, Sean!" he called out and the two knew what to do. Myron created an air bubble while Sean used his telekinesis to pull everybody inside the bubble except Kian.

"What was that?!" Jax asked alarmed

"Poison" Vance simpered

"Poison?! Then why did you left my mate out there?!" Kaleb snapped. He tried to go outside the bubble but he can't get through.

"Stop. You can't get out. He strengthens this." Myron said making him cursed. He then remembered he can link him.

"Kian, baby! Get in here!"

"Not yet. It's not safe here yet. Wait a moment." 

"Fuck, baby! Let me out!"

"No! Not yet... as I said, it's not safe yet."

Kaleb tried again and he almost made it when he released a surge of energy. His pack and the knights looked surprised. Even he was shocked. Kian felt it and turned to him smiling. But of course, he still cannot surpass Kian's strength. After a few moments, Kian looks at Myron and nods. Myron popped the air bubble. Kaleb hurriedly went to his mate and check him up. Kian was about to say something when the customer suddenly screamed in panic. The kid with them fainted. He went to them fast.

"It's in his system," Kian said and he put his palm on the kid's forehead. "Please, help my son. Please.." The lady begged, crying. The hand of Kian on the kid's forehead glows. The kid woke up and you can see fear in his eyes and he starts crying. "Make him calm"

Kian linked Sean and he coax the kid to come with him for ice cream, to which the kid agreed.

Then Kian turned to the lady. "Ma'am he is traumatized. We can help him if you will agree to erase his memory of today's incident," he explained. Kaleb and his pack are just watching them in awe. Somehow, this incident gave them a glimpse of what these Shadow Knights can do.

The lady agreed and he linked Sean to do it. When everything is calmed and the customers left, they closed the café and sealed the place. 

He told Neo and Vance to fix the broken window and after that, they all gathered at one table. The Knights are thinking about who would do it since no one knows their identities.

Kian put the piece of paper he found earlier with the canister on the table. "This. I've seen this before. Can't remember where though." he said. The boys looked at the paper.

"Where did you get this?" Kaleb asked his mate. Kian told him that he found it with the canister that was thrown at the window.

"It's from those damn rogues. It's their symbol." Dom said after seeing the paper. It confirmed that it's not the Knights who they are after.

"You said it has poison, was it wolfsbane?" Jax asked.

"I guess it's wolfsbane again. But why would they used that when they knew that royals are not affected by it?" Theo asked. If they knew Kaleb will not be affected, then why bother? That's what's everyone's question.

Kian sighed before spilling what he discovered. "Because it's not only wolfsbane. It has something more and this confirmed that they are working with mages. And whatever inside of this canister can do fatal damage. Royals or not and you see what happened to the kid. This one's aim is not only the supernaturals." They cursed hearing what Kian said.

Kaleb got angrier. If that is true, why would Kian let himself be exposed like that? The others can feel the energy from him. 'I'm okay...I'm not affected by it..' Kian linked him. But he stands up and bursts out startling everybody.

"Why would you risk yourself like that?!" Jax and the others are calming him but Kian seems unaffected.

"I have to protect my team and those who can't protect themselves." Kian calmly answered. "Then why you didn't let me help? You're my mate. I must protect you too." Kaleb said dejectedly.

Kian went to him and hug him to comfort him. "As I said before, that poison can kill you too. Why would I let you out if it can harm you?" he softly said. Their friends are gaping at them.

They can't digest how these two became this close when they just met. Oh, yeah they forgot, these two already marked each other. The hug helped to calm the alpha. Kaleb sat back and pulled Kian on his lap with his face on the crook of his mate's neck.

"Live with us." Kaleb suddenly said. Jax supported his alpha by convincing them that it will be a lot easier if they are in one place. Kian turns to his knights, waiting for their opinions. They gave him a thumbs up. Kaleb sighed in relief.

They talk more about what happened and came to know that, Kaleb almost breaking the bubble is because of their growing bond. And the attack itself could be a trial if it will or will not affect the royals since Kaleb is there.

"Too bad we didn't catch the culprit," Myron said but the look on Kian's face made him realized something. "Wait, don't tell me-

"I put a tracker the moment that bastard throws the second canister." Kian proudly said. Now, whoever that guy is, he can't escape him.

The pack was amazed and Theo asked how he did it but he only shrugged his shoulders and chuckled.  'You're something, baby' Kaleb linked Kian.  'That I am.' he proudly answered.

"So, what now? What's the plan?" Vance asked. Kian stands up from his mate's lap.

"We will discuss it tomorrow with Council Marius & Tristan Ryce. For now, I will meet with the head councils to report everything and also ask their approval to fasten our plan." Kian told them. 

"You're going now?' Sean asked and Kian nodded and told them to take care of everything in the meantime. He then go to his mate and told him he'll be back before he know it.

"I'll see you soon. 'You can link me no matter the distance.' he linked the last part. He hugged Kaleb before saying goodbye to everyone and went to his office.

"I thought he's going? Why did he go to his office?" Jax asked confused.

 "Maybe he needs something before going," Theo said. The knights stifled a laugh. They don't know that Kian can teleport. Kaleb called out his mate through their link. 'Baby?'

Kian replied instantly, "Yeah? I'm at my Dada's office already." Kaleb realized now that his mate can teleport. "Wow~ you are truly something. I feel insecure now."

"Don't be. We are equal. Anyway, I will talk to you soon. My parents are not here. See you later!"

Kian cut the link after Kaleb told him to take care and come back fast. He sighs feeling a little down. He can feel that there's more about his mate. He felt the stares of the others so, he lifted his head and ask, "What?" with one eyebrow raised. His friends shook their heads. He sighed again and stands up.

"We will go first. We need to report what happened to my father too. Nice meeting you all." Kaleb said, then they left.

Since Kian didn't found his parents in the office, he went to their house and appearing suddenly startled them.

"Oh! My poor eyes!!" he screamed covering his eyes. He caught his dada being super cheesy and clingy with his papa. Calvin on the other hand was pushed down by his husband. He glared at his son who is smirking at him.

"What brings you here? Any news? You're blocking me, I can't hear your thoughts." Calvin said. Kian handed the paper with the logo. "Rogues." Calvin simpered. Kian told them what happened and their theories. 

"This means, there is a traitor and I can see that you have a hunch who," Kian stated looking straight at his dada.

 "Yes. But for now, I can only tell you who is that traitor is working with. And that is, Paris." Calvin told him. Kian asked who Paris is. His parents told him that she's a dark mage that disappeared after he tried to break them apart. 

"So, she's working with the Org.?" he asked and his parents nodded. But the organization was destroyed before.

Calvin agreed that the organization was indeed no more but, "That bitch is a different case. She has her agenda. And with that traitor on her side? I bet she thinks she'll win this time." his dada said.

Kian then uses the opportunity to ask to fasten the plan. The faster they ended the problem the better. He also asked for permission to live with the Midnight pack. His parents see no problem and agreed. He stayed for a while before he bids goodbye.

Not that long, new visitors came. "So, why are you guys gracing us with your presence?" Calvin asked. Alexis smacked his husband.

"How can you talk to deities like that huh?" Alexis nagged. Yes, their visitors are the deities of dark and light. Calvin talks like that to Kaios because he met him since he was little. And Kaios is like his father before he was adopted by his parents who were the former head councils.

"This is why I like you more my prince than this ungrateful giant,"

Kaios said. He and Calvin love to bicker. The other deity, Selene is used at them.

"Can we focus on why we came here?" Selene said. The atmosphere becomes serious.

"You do know that because of this mission, Kian met his destined mate, right?" She asked and the two nodded and what she said next shocked the couple.

"But, did you know that he knew they are mates since he was ten?" she said making Calvin and Alexis stunned. How? And why they didn't notice it? There are lots of questions inside their heads. Does Kian know about the prophecy? The long-forgotten prophecy that is connected to his birth? Kian's birth is important as he is the key. The key, to end the evil that will try to take over the world.

Kian is a gift from the deities. The other part of the fulfillment of the prophecy. The reason why he needs to be kept hidden. Now, that everything is starting to resurface, will they be able to keep Kian, stay as their hope? Or will he be their destruction? Secrets soon to be revealed. Feelings will be hurt. Trust will be tested. Confusion, betrayal, and even his existence will be questioned. Insecurities will grow.

How will the young hearts deal with these? Everything seems going to the right places but troubles are already in the way waiting for them.
