“Push, push!” the midwife shouted, while I kept trying my possible best to push. Even with the painkiller, I was really sweating. I bit on something they gave me to bite on, so that I wouldn’t hurt myself while trying to push. It was a very tough one. I never knew that pregnancy was as tough as this one.

“Push, push harder!” the midwife shouted again, and the more they shouted, the more I kept trying to push myself to push. And suddenly, I felt the baby’s head come out, and I felt instant ease. At that moment, all I wanted to hear was my babies cry.

But I couldn’t hear my baby cry. I looked at them in panic, and then I saw them patiently waiting to hear my baby cry. They kept beating my babies’ chest and feet, just to hear the baby crying. And then, suddenly, my baby started crying. It was a sound that was so pleasant, yet so annoying. I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that my baby was OK.
