Later that day Indianna was in the kitchen with Laura, Kirstie and Mac. There was a comfortable silence as the four of them peeled and chopped vegetables. No one wanted to discuss the reason for why they were preparing dinner. The thought of Rogue sitting at the table, surrounded by her friends and family made Indianna feel sick.
The silence was soon broken when Kal arrived, barging through the door with his arms full of shopping bags. Kimberly followed behind him and they placed numerous bags full of groceries onto the dining table.
"Normally," Kal said, looking at the food with narrowed eyes, "the sight of all this food would make me very happy, however, I'm currently very unhappy. For the first time in my life I am not looking forward to Christmas dinner. Damn Rogue. He's a maniac and now he's a bloody Scrooge as well."
"Thank you, Kal," Laura called, reaching into one of the bags and pulling out ingredients. "And you too, Kim. We should have enough food now."
"Don't worry if you haven't. I'd happily starve if it means Rogue is out of here quicker tonight," Kal grumbled.
"Kal, sweet, we get it. You don't want Rogue here. No one does, stop moaning and suck it up." Kimberly placed her hand on Kal's arm and gave him a look. "We haven't got a choice."
"God, woman, let me complain!" Kal groaned but he grabbed Kimberly's hands and pulled her closer, kissing her cheek affectionately.
"Let's stop the moaning for now, yeah?" Kimberly suggested.
Kal's eyebrows raised and he smirked. "For now?"
Kimberly glared at Kal and hit his chest. "Shut up, you idiot and do something useful."
"Do as your mate says!" Kirstie called. "You can start peeling the potatoes."
Kal made a face. "I consume food. I don't make it."
Kirstie rolled her eyes and pointed to an empty kitchen surface. "Get working, Kalum!"
"What about her?" Kal complained, pointing at Kimberly. "Make her work too!"
"You're such a child," Kimberly said and shook her head. "And I'm going to help. I'll take over from Indianna."
Indianna looked over her shoulder, eyebrow raising. "I'm fine, Kim."
"No, you're pregnant and shouldn't be standing up for long periods of time," Kimberly said sternly. "Go and rest."
"Honestly-"
"She's right, dear," Laura interjected. "You've had a busy day already and tonight is probably going to be stressful. You need to relax while you can. For your health and the babies."
"But we have so much food to prepare-"
"We can get others to help," Kirstie called, her voice stern. "You're outnumbered, Indie. Get your butt out of here. You are carry my niece and nephew and I won't have you straining yourself."
Indianna held her hands up in surrender and stepped backward. "You guys win," she said but she found herself smiling at the thought of how many people cared. "I'll go and rest."
Kimberly grinned smugly and squeezed Indianna's arm when she walked past her. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling good," Indianna said honestly. "Thank you, Kim."
Indianna left the kitchen and exited the pack house. She spotted Harry and Brooke who were sitting on a bench, deep in conversation. Brooke's eyes were red and cheeks puffy, but she was smiling at something Harry had said.
Indianna wanted to wrap Brooke in bubble wrap and protect her from the night that was to come, but she knew she couldn't. Instead, Indianna looked away from Harry and Brooke and went down into the cells underground to where she could hear voices. Some familiar, some not.
Indianna found Greyson in one of the far cells with Ace, Oscar and Tai, who was tending to the freshly burnt brands of three men that Indianna faintly recognised from around town. Rogue's men.
Greyson, who was leaning against the bars of the cell, spoke up. "Gentlemen, please allow me to introduce your new Luna." Greyson turned and locked eyes with Indianna as she came into view. His hands found her waist as she neared and Indianna leaned into his side, their body's fitting together like a glove.
Greyson kissed Indianna's temple. "Sugar, meet the three men who we have successfully freed from Rogue's compulsion."
The three men bowed their heads upon Indianna's arrival.
"I'm glad you are in your right minds again," Indianna said kindly. "And welcome to our pack."
"We are forever indebted to you," one of the men spoke. "Whatever you need from us we shall to our best to provide."
"Your best is what we are going to need," Greyson nodded. "Now, you guys need to get going soon. We are expecting Rogue here tonight and we need you and your scents gone as quickly as possible."
"We have a route through the woods planned that will get you back into town unnoticed," Oscar told them.
"And remember to be careful. The brands will heal slower, even for werewolves. Don't let Rogue see that they are sore."
"We'll be careful. Thank you, Alpha and Luna."
"We will be in touch with further information when we have released more of you from Rogue's compulsion," Ace said. "The end is in sight."
The three men with new found freedoms left with Oscar, leaving Indianna, Greyson, Kal and Tai in the cell. Tai cleared her throat and cast an awkward glance at Greyson. "I should go."
"Wait," Greyson said sternly. "I want to say something to you."
"Greyson," Ace warned, watching him cautiously.
Greyson couldn't help but smirk. "Don't worry, Ace, I was actually going to thank your mate."
Tai raised her dark eyebrows disbelievingly. "You what?"
"You heard me," Greyson said dismissively. "You've been a great help to Doc. We need all the help we can get right now."
Tai and Ace shared a look. They both seemed as surprised as each other.
"But now, I need you to fuck off."
"Greyson!" Indianna and Ace said simultaneously.
"Calm down," Greyson said calmly. "I've arranged for you and your brother and Sasha to spend the evening with a pack member. We still don't know if Rogue knows about you two and it's better if you stay far away from here. Rogue has never encountered Sasha so it's best for her to leave as well."
"What about Alice and Alec?" Ace asked. "Where will they go?"
"They will join us for dinner."
"Kal won't be happy about that."
"No one is happy about tonight."
Indianna sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Rogue said friends and family. Alice is our friend and Kal's family. Rogue knows Alec so I'm sure he would expect him to be there too. You three are the only ones who Rogue hasn't had any contact with. You're safe."
"Safe?" Tai repeated and scoffed. "Yeah, I feel it."
"What pack member will they go to?" Indianna asked Greyson.
"Ellie's parents."
Ellie was a young pack member who had been adopted by a couple after being subjected to horrors by Rogue. They were good people.
"I'm not spending Christmas with some random people," Tai said stubbornly. "Raiden and I will go home-"
"Don't make this difficult," Greyson said sternly. "Do as you're told."
"You're not the boss of me," Tai argued.
"Tai," Ace said gently. He had Tai's attention immediately and her expression softened slightly when she looked at him. "Please. I wouldn't make it through the night if I didn't know you were safe."
Tai narrowed her eyes at Greyson. "I don't like him telling me what to do."
Greyson shrugged his shoulders. "I'm in charge and that's not changing so deal with it."
"Please, Tai. Ignore him. Do it for me."
"Do not ignore me," Greyson said sternly.
*Greyson,* Indianna said in warning. *Give them a break. She's proven herself.*
*She still needs to listen to me. I'm the Alpha.*
*Yes, you're not letting her forget that.*
Greyson smirked slightly. "So, what is it going to be, Tai?"
Tai looked away from Ace and sighed. "Fine."
"Let's go and tell Raiden and Sasha," Ace said softly. He slowly reached for Tai's hand and she blinked, staring at Ace for a few seconds before nodding.
"Are you okay to take them?" Greyson asked Ace.
"Of course. We will leave as soon as they are ready to go."
"Sooner rather than later," Greyson ordered.
"Sir yes sir," Tai muttered as Ace and her left the cells, sarcasm heavy in her voice.
Greyson narrowed his eyes at her retreating figure, but Indianna reached up and touched his cheek, pulling his attention to her. "Grey," she whispered, "get over your ego and come with me."
Greyson's eyebrows shot up. "Excuse me, sugar?"
Indianna smiled. "Oh, you heard me, Alpha. Come on. I need to show you something."
"I do not have an ego."
Indianna scoffed. "You have a rather large ego.""Where are you taking me and my supposed rather large ego, sugar?""I need to show you something.""That didn't answer my question."Indianna rolled her eyes. "Our bedroom.""Why didn't you say that earlier?" Greyson wondered, a teasing smirk on his lips.Indianna was slightly breathless when they made it to Greyson's bedroom and she cursed the many stairs she had just climbed. She took a seat on their bed eagerly and gestured for Greyson to join her. "And bring me that book on the side please."Greyson raised the leather book with a look of doubt. "Why on earth do you want me to bring you this stupid book about fairytales, sugar?""Because I asked you too," Indianna said. "Come on. Bring it here."Greyson sighed and sat down next to Indianna, dropping the book on the bed. "You got me all excited to come to our bedroom only to put a children's book in between us? Sugar, you're killing me."Indianna laughed and turned the book over, runn
"Don't," he sighed. "I know that voice, sugar. That's your serious voice. Don't ruin the moment."Indianna paused. "Greyson, I'm scared about tonight.""I'm sick of hearing about him," Greyson muttered icily, but he kissed Indianna's forehead and ran his fingers through her hair affectionately . "Tonight is going to be fine. We'll get through it.""Will we?""We better. Besides, tonight could give us the opportunity to learn more about Rogue and Stacey's relationship. We're going to need all the information we can if we're going to someone get her away from Rogue in the future"Indianna stiffened. "To kill her.""It's been agreed.""Not by me.""Indie, let's not argue about this-""If you think I'm going to ever not argue with you then you're delusional, Greyson Evans, especially when it's over killing somebody!""The majority voted," Greyson said. "It's happening whether you like it or not.""The father of my children is not going to be a killer."Greyson's muscles tensed and he sat
The evening had approached.Indianna felt sick as she stared at her reflection in the mirror, and it wasn't from her pregnancy. She was dressed in a dark red dress and had a simple pair of flats on. Her ankles were starting to become swollen and she was not going to risk wearing heels. She caressed her bump and sighed. It felt wrong to be dressing up for an evening that she was dreading, but they had to continue with the facade. They had to keep Rogue happy, and unsuspecting."You look gorgeous." Greyson exited the bathroom, dressed only in a pair of blue jeans, and stopped behind Indianna, kissing her bare shoulder. "I wish you looked gorgeous under different circumstances."Indianna smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "You need to finish getting ready, Grey. I'm sure Rogue will be here soon."Greyson closed his eyes and gently kissed Indianna's neck, sucking on her delicate skin, moving his lips up to her jawline, edging closer to her mouth."Greyson," Indianna whispered and leane
"Do we know what time he is coming?"At the mention of Rogue Harry slammed a glass down onto the kitchen counter, his knuckles turning white as he gripped it tightly. "Can two minutes not pass without the mention of him? We're going to have to endure him for a whole damn evening, we don't have to-""Harry!" Greyson said sharply, his voice raised and stern. Surprisingly, Harry stopped talking and looked at Greyson with narrowed eyes."What?" Harry spit out through clenched teeth."You need to remain calm tonight.""Calm? You're really telling me to remain calm?" Harry hissed. "Are you fucking joking, Greyson? After all that he has done you want me to remain calm? I don't know how I'm going to stop myself from reaching across the damn table and ripping his head off if he even looks at Brooklyn. Don't you fucking telling me to stay calm-""Harry!" Indianna shouted, cutting Harry off. She crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a warning look, looking far from impressed. "Watch your
"I'm not finished," Rogue said sharply. "Sister, sweetheart, keep your mate quiet unless he wants to be bound and tortured again."Indianna's heart broke, looking between Brooklyn and Harry, and then Greyson. They all had the same look in their eye. Part of all of their souls had been broken by Rogue, and no matter how much they tried to hide the side of them that had been destroyed by him, in this moment, it was all Indianna could see.In her heard she heard Brooklyn's screams, her cries and shouts that filled the pack house when she had her nightmares. She saw Harry's impulsiveness, his selfishness when it came to Brooklyn, his carelessness for anyone else but her. It was all because of Rogue and the heinous acts he had committed towards Brooklyn. Harry hadn't been able to prevent them, so he gave Brooklyn his all. His thoughts, his anger, his concerns, his sadness, his care, and his love. She saw Greyson. She saw how he had changed since he had come back. Rogue hadn't killed Greyso
"Tai," Ace whispered, tugging at Tai's arm. "Stop, please.""It's fine. I like that she's got flare. It's interesting," Rogue smiled. "It's not surprising that she's got a few anger issues. She must have so much built up guilt after everything she's done over the years."Tai gripped her knife and fork tightly, her breathing rate starting to increase. "Stop it."Rogue shrugged his shoulders innocently. "I'm just trying to figure out exactly who you are. I know everything about everyone in this pack, it's only fair I know everything about you too. Especially when you're a killer."Tai's knife and fork clattered onto the table. Everyone turned to stare at her in shock, minus Ace, Raiden, Brandon and Rogue."You brought me to dinner with a girl that has killed someone!" Stacey gasped. "Jason-""Sh, my sweet." Jason turned to Stacey, brushing her hair behind her ear. He smiled at her and it was the only genuine smile that Indianna had seen all evening. "I wouldn't let anyone hurt you."Sta
"Why?" Rogue taunted. "Can you feel yourself losing control?""Please, please stop," Ace pleaded with Rogue."But don't you want to hear about how she killed her father?""She did not!" Raiden cried, looking the most alive that he had in days. Tai's eyes filled with tears, but she wasn't upset. She was furious. Indianna noticed a shift in her and she glanced at Greyson worriedly."This girl seems to kill anyone she is close with," Rogue said. "I don't want somebody as dangerous as her around my sister or my niece and nephew, especially since she's hidden the truth from the majority of you. It makes you think, is she hiding any more dirty little secrets?"Tai shot up from her seat, seething with rage."Look at her, she is a dangerous little thing, isn't she?""Why are you doing this?" Ace cried. "You're purposely infuriating her!""She needs to leave," Raiden called, standing up and looking at his sister in concern. "You need to get her out of here.""Ace!" Greyson commanded. "You hear
Another chapter so soon? That's very unlike me.I am really enjoying writing again. I feel like I had such a long phase where I wasn't happy with ANYTHING I was writing and I never had the motivation to sit down and try and write anything, however.... That stage is gone, baby.I'm back, and hopefully, I can continue giving you guys the updates that you have so very patiently waited for!I appreciate every single one of you that still reads this, even though it's been nearly 5 years since I started this sequel... She was lying on the floor, her head ringing and vision slightly blurred. All she could smell was the metallic scent of blood and she panicked, her hands going to her stomach, feeling herself rapidly for any injuries. Her hands remained dry, but she didn't relax,
Indianna forced a smile. "I would never."Greyson chuckled. "Are you not eating any more, sugar?"Indianna stared down at the food on her plate, feeling full. She had taken a lot more food than she could manage to consume. She shook her head.Greyson turned to his sister. "Has she actually eaten a decent breakfast?""Greyson, I've eaten!" Indianna argued.Kirstie rolled her eyes. "Trust your mate, you dick. She ate enough for a whole family.""Great. In that case." Greyson took Indianna's plate from her and sat down between the two girls, tucking into the remains of Indianna's breakfast."We better get organised," Mac said, running his hand along Kirstie's thigh. "We gotta a lot of men to get today.""No rest for the wicked," Kirstie sighed and jumped up from the floor. "Let's go tear down Rogue's empire, lover."Mac chuckled and let Kirstie pull him up from the floor. "Let's do this.""You know," Oscar said, furrowing his eyebrows as he stood up with Kirstie and Max , "you'd think th
DAY ONEIndianna was woken by Kal's snores, they were soft, but she had been struggling to sleep the whole night and now all she could focus on was Kal's heavy breathing. She sighed and turned over, trying to get comfortable which was rather hard with her bump. She was now looking at Greyson as he slept. He seemed so peaceful. His face was so calm and serene, she wished that he didn't have to wake up to the hell they were in.Greyson's eye twitched and Indianna knew that he was no longer asleep. He reached out, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest, resting his chin on her head and one hand on her stomach. *It's early, sugar, you should be asleep, not perving on me while I sleep.*Indianna chuckled slightly. *Sleep doesn't come easily these days.**Try,* Greyson pleaded. *It's 2am. You need your rest.**So do you.**I'm fine. I'm swapping watch duty with Oscar soon anyway.*The rest of the previous day was spent waiting anxiously for Oscar, Kirstie and Mac to ret
"Please don't call yourself that," Indianna said."It's true. I can't be trusted-""Would a monster feel remorse?" Indianna asked, cutting Tai off. "Do you think Rogue feels remorse over his actions?""That is different-""You are not a monster, Tai," Indianna insisted. "You didn't do what you did on purpose. As you said, you lost control. What happened has happened, it can't be taken back. The only thing we can do now is focus on the present. Tai, will you help us now?"It was a few moments before Tai acknowledged that Indianna had spoken. She pursed her lips and gave one sharp nod. "I need to wash this blood off of me," she said and turned on her heel and disappeared into Indianna's room.Indianna made her way to Greyson's room next. The scent of him surrounded her when she entered and she closed her eyes, caressing her bump. She didn't want to go without him. Indianna swallowed the lump in her throat and changed out of the clothes she had been wearing for dinner. Once she was in sw
"If I'd have known that talking to Brooklyn would change your mind then I would have suggested you do that as soon as you started to disagree with me."Indianna scowled at Greyson who smirked at her as she approached him. "Shut up."Greyson reached out and took Indianna's hand, pulling her towards him. "Thank you," he murmured."I'm still annoyed," Indianna grumbled and looked down at her feet, glaring."Hey." Greyson took Indianna's chin and tilted her head up. "Please don't be. You're keeping yourself and our children safe. That's the most important thing. Don't scowl at me, sugar.""You're important."Greyson smiled and kissed Indianna's forehead affectionately. "God, I love you, woman."Karl suddenly yelled from across the room. "They're here! Fucking hell, you took your time, lads! It's not like we're waiting for a psychopath to come and kill us or anything!""You just can't keep your mouth shut, can you?" Harry groaned, but made his way over to where Kal was now standing, over t
"Just me," Greyson croaked. "You know it's the smart thing to do. There's no point in slaughtering a whole pack.""You think I care about how many people I have control over? Do you think I care about that when my mate is lying dead in my arms!" Rogue roared. He threw Greyson to the side, kicking him onto the floor. "You will all die! I will kill you all for what you have done. None of you will live to see next week." Rogue looked down at Stacey and brushed her hair away from his face, smiling down at her. "Everything I will do to this pack will be for you, my love," he whispered. "I promise, I will make them suffer." He then walked towards the woods, not looking back at the pack. "If any of them try to leave, break their legs! I want them alive, for now!" Was the last thing Rogue said to his men before he disappeared. The rest of his men remained, but they retreated into the trees, out of sight, still there, but watching. The silence that followed next was deafening. No one said a wo
Nothing she could possibly say would help."Your pack killed my mate. SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU. OF YOUR PACK! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!" His yells echoed in the woods surrounding them. "You..." He whispered. "You are going to pay."Indianna was too stunned to speak. She was vaguely aware of Greyson putting himself between her and Rogue, but that didn't stop Indianna from staring at her brother who looked ferocious. His eyes were dark, teeth bared, face red and he was spitting blood when he spoke. "You, little sister, are going to suffer. Your pathetic mate can't protect you. Your pack. No one. You are no different from our parents. I thought I could change you. Make you into a version of yourself that I could be proud of. Oh, how I was wrong.""J-Jason," Indianna stuttered, her words barely audible. "I didn't want this to happen-""I don't want your fake pity!" He roared and Indianna flinched. "I don't want lies! I want revenge!"*Sugar, you know I will die before I let him get to you.*H
