"What do you mean we need to get married now?"
"Your father will surely object and would call the engagement off. When we are married, they wouldn't lay a hand on me."
"What is exactly your plan, Silvestri?"
Luca strides towards his table after making sure that the door to his office is locked.
"I need protection against your father and lover."
"For a hundredth time, William is my brother."
He shrugged his shoulder, "If you say so. They've been hitting on me ever since my name boomed up. I'm trying to do my business here, I don't have time for them."
"That's the reason why you throw an investigation on me?"
"It happens that when I saw your face on the internet, you seem familiar."
Patricia sighed and closed her eyes to keep her composed. If she refuses Luca's offer, everyone knows that she is THAT Tricia Barone. That Patricia Arquette is just a cover-up for her to do things freely and out of trouble.
"When are we getting married?"
"Now. Call one of your trusted friends so they could be our witness."
"I only have one."
"Call her. I'll call my partners over."
And then it happens, they are married that night. Now, Patricia and her Nana are moving to Luca's house. It was simple, yet you can easily tell that the materials they used were expensive. After having dinner outside, they finally arrived at Luca's abode.
"Isn't this our dream house, Patti?" Her nana asked when they were welcomed by Luca with a smile on his face.
When they are together, Luca's always grumpy and would glower at her as if she had done something bad against him when in fact, it was the other way around. He tricked her to marry him. She still doesn't understand why it happened, she needs to have a talk with Luca or her head will be about to explode.
"I hope you like this house. Uh you can change the design and interiors if you like." He offered to her Nana.
Nana just smiled and held his arms, "Are you sure? I have so much in mind."
"Yes, Nana."
Luca leads the way to their rooms, her Nana's room actually. Now that they are married, they are both expected to sleep in the same room.
"I'm good here, thank you, son. I'll just rest a little bit."
"It's okay nana, call us if you need anything."
Patricia just stared at the two, waiting for them to finish their conversation before she talks to Luca. Once everything was settled, they made their way to the living room.
"Let's make this clear, Silvestri. I will do my thing on my own and you are not allowed to intervene in my decisions."
"We are married, Patricia."
"I know, but this marriage is nothing like a business agreement. We can act like we are in love when we are in front of many people, especially my grandma. But, we are nothing but mere strangers when we are together. Understood?"
Luca smirked at her, "You can set boundaries all you want, but as long as I have your secret, you are mine as well."
She glares at him, she really hated his guts and will do everything for this to end.
"We need to discuss a lot of things, our situation is messed up. This marriage? It happens so fast!"
"I suggest lowering your voice if you don't want your grandmother to find out."
"Luca!"
"Duck, I don't have time for this-"
She stepped forward towards him, "Luca. We are so messed up."
Backing away to give them some space, he sighed in irritation. "You are making everything a big deal."
"Marriage isn't a big deal?" She scoffed, it's unbelievable how this ahole thought that it is not a big deal.
"I married you to save my company, you married me to keep your secret. That's all."
"I need to talk to you tomorrow morning."
Luca started walking away, "I'm tired, let's go to our room."
Patricia don't have a choice but to obey, she followed him from behind. Now that her mind is kind of clear, she has the chance to inspect Luca. The last time she saw him was at the ball. She didn't even recognize him when they met at the office. For Patricia, Luca was just the boy she used to adore. When she finds out that he is unlike everyone else at the ball, she looked up at him. But it changes throughout the years, she had already forgotten about him. So why does he need to come back now?
She comes back to her senses when she bumped into someone. They have already arrived at their room.
Luca stared at her with bewilderment, "What are you thinking?"
"None of your business actually," she walked passed him.
Patricia's things are already settled in his room. Luca asked Kelsey to do the job and Patricia is thankful because of that. She doesn't think she will be able to settle her things when she was exhausted as hell.
"Do you want to talk?" Luca asked once again when she made her way to the bathroom door.
She turned to see him, "Now you want to talk?" Patricia tauntingly asked.
"You seem bothered." Is all he said.
"I'm going to take a bath and have my peace. Do you need to shower?"
"I'll just shower downstairs."
Patricia nods and step inside. She stripped all her clothes before she ready a bubble bath for herself. She was thinking of having a wine and a slow music, but she's not comfortable knowing that Luca is just on the another side of this thin wall. She heard the door opened and closes as she dropped her body to the warm water.
Minutes later, the door opened again but she didn't mind it. Her eyes are still close as she is forcing her hayhire brain to be in order.
"How long will you soaked yourself?" Luca's voice boomed inside the bathroom, making Patricia jumped out of surprise.
"What the heck, Luca?!"
"You really need to get out here or you will catch a cold."
"I'm trying to relax."
"Someone sent you a text."
"Did you look through my phone?!" She immediately stands up, not caring if Luca could see her nakedness.
She's confident of her body and she is sure that Luca has seen different bodies a hundred times. This isn't new to him.
"What are you doing?" He asked, his voice dropping down low.
Patricia didn't answer him, instead, she reached for the towel to wrap herself.
"Get out."
"That can do, duck."
"What do you need for Pete's sake? I have enough of you Silvestri."
"Are you really trying to seduce me?" He eyed her accusingly.
Patricia burst into a peal of loud laughter, "Me? Seducing you? Now, why would I do that?"
"Are you sure?"
She teasingly went to his side so their bodies would touch each other. Patricia saw how Luca's expression changes.
"I don't have a plan on seducing you, Luca. If I want to sleep with you, then I will tell you."
The bluntness of her words made Luca's lips slightly parted, and she can't help but drop her gaze to his luscious lips.
"Get out 'cause I'm cleaning myself."
"If you are confident enough to show yourself naked to me, why do I need to go out? Can't I watch my wife?"
"I did not give you permission to do so. Get out Luca, I thought you are smart. I've been repeating myself three times and you still haven't understood?"
Just when she thought he will get out, Luca wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a kiss. It was just a quick kiss and Patricia's eyes were still closed when he pulled away.
"That's all I need." He said before moving away completely.
Patricia was left stunned, she took a deep breath before deciding to cast away what has happened and let herself get cleaned. After washing herself and changing, she can't find Luca in their room so she sent him a text asking where he was.
Not long enough, he texted back saying that he is in the house's small office.
Patricia checked her messages since Luca has told her someone sent a text. She didn't hear anything when she was in the bathroom, but maybe it was because of how tired she was and how relaxing the bath is.
"You need to be very careful from now on, Bambina."
"Who texted you last night?"Luca asked in the middle of having their breakfast. It's just the two of them since they wake up later than usual, her Nana probably went to the park like she always does and comes back very late in the afternoon.Going back, Patricia decided to not tell Luca about her grandfather. She still doesn't trust anyone aside from her grappa and she knows how everyone is plotting harm against him, she can't let anyone get to know in regards to her suspicion about her grandfather's death. Although Luca means no harm, she still doesn't think it was possible to tell him everything about her. But hearing him ask about the message, she was not sure whether he went through her phone or not so she needed to play her cards well."Didn't you look through my phone last night?" She asked to test him."Who texted you last night?" He queried again, annoyance was lace in his voice.Patricia scoffed when she saw his expression, "Don't act like some sort of jealous husband, Silve
A week. It's been a week since Patricia is giving Luca cold shoulders. After that incident, she remained silent and even her Nana asked her what's the problem all about."Are we really going to do this again, Duck?" Luca asked when she get out of the shower. It's Sunday morning and she decided to go to church with her Nana, and of course, with Luca who is now well dressed up in all black while she's all white. Patricia just stared at him before she went to the vicinity to brush her hair. Though Luca steals it away from her and is the one combing her now. She finds it sweet."I just want you to relax while the Pro-Live Magazine Company is being renovated. What's so wrong with that?""Really, Silvestri? You didn't ask for my permission.""Finally," he whispered before he stopped brushing her hair and then hugged Patricia from behind, "You talk again."She tried to get away from his hug but it only tightened. Luca rested his chin on her shoulder, she can perfectly see their reflection in
Patricia sat on the long longue, staring at her parents and William who stared at her with bewilderment, she hated his guts. After the incident where she found a clue that their wedding date might be the password, she immediately went to the house to confirm it.But her parents block her way, as always. They won't let her get inside as if she is going to steal something important from them. which is honestly not the case."Why did you come back? Did you change your mind about your husband?" Her father asked in disdain, clearly indicating that he doesn't like her husband. Mr. Baron probably did not expect Luca to decline his offer and that made him furious because he doesn't get what he wants."Technically, this is my house. It's my grappa's gift for me." Patricia spouted nonchalantly, she honestly don't want to say it to them, but they are making her act like this. Or maybe not, maybe she is always been like this to them. Never considering their feelings like how they never considered
"No, that's not the password." The words rolled out of Patricia's tongue with bitterness. Disappointment is visible on her face and she knows that Luca can see it, but never said anything about it. She can't believe she fell for that trap of whoever sends the message. She's sure that person is trying to play mind games with them. "How'd you know?" His brows quirk up. "Silvestri, you think I didn't try every possible password my grandpa would use? That's my grandparents' wedding anniversary. It didn't work." "Maybe it's our anniversary then." "No, I don't think so." "Did you even try it?" Luca's question was meant to mock her. She knew it by the look on his face. Sometimes she doesn't understand him. Luca's personality is still a mystery to her. Even though she grew up observing people's actions and words, Luca made it impossible for her to guess what he is thinking. It's almost as if he was born to be someone no one could figure out unless he tells them everything, which would
"You did what?" Patricia's best friend, Lily, asked on the other line. After her confrontation with Luca, she immediately went home and facetime her best friend. Lily knows everything about her. Their friendship is composed of trust and openness— one can rarely find someone who shares the same bond as theirs."I told him to get lost and find a place to stay because he's not coming home."Lily gaped at her, "It's his house, Patti.""I know.""And you told him that? Why would he listen? I mean you're my friend, but he's entitled to stay there because it's technically his house. He owns that." Her best friend asked in disbelief. She gave Lily a dirty look, "I'm his wife.""So?""Well, whose side are you?"Lily rolled her eyes, "For the record Mrs. Silvestri," She emphasizes the word Silvestri as if its purpose is to slap Patricia's face with the fact that she just kicked her husband's ass out in his own damn house."I don't know, Lils. I'm not sure if I did the right thing trusting him w
Attached there was the familiar address of their vacation house. It's been decades since Patricia's family went there. It was said to be abandoned by the family, and even her grandfather didn't talk about it for as long as she can remember."We can go there if you really wanted answers," Luca suggested while she remained silent. She's contemplating. Does she really want to do it? What if someone is just playing with her? Perhaps it could be her father trying to lure her into darkness, thinking she will change her perspective on how to view their choice of life."It's an abandoned house." She said, suddenly feeling lightheaded."Hmm. I asked Alejandro to check it earlier, it's far from being abandoned."Her eyebrows crease together, "What do you mean?""Someone's been living there not until this year."She stared at him in bewilderment. How could that happen? She's pretty sure no one in her family goes there anymore. Not that she's aware of her parents or William's business, but that h
Patricia turned on the recorder before she starts the interview. Catarina, Don Lorenzo's youngest daughter, is one of the activists calling for change. She hates to admit it, but Catarina had influenced numerous people to participate in specific campaigns."Let's start with your introducing yourself," Patricia trailed as she stares at the paper in front of her."Catarina Lorenzo, youngest daughter of Don Lorenzo. Are there any reasons or specific happenings which made you turn this way?""I am aware that my Dad has been very active in illegal activities in the past, but I'm different. After her interview with Catarina, Luca made sure that it was nothing. He once worked for them, but it's just it. Although it made her doubtful, she trusted him. And she's glad, because their relationship started to go well.A frown was evident on Patricia's gorgeous face as she scanned her phone. She's waiting for her husband to arrive and pick her up but it's already 20 minutes after she finished interviewing one of the elites. Luca was never been late, and tonight is the first time that he failed to fetch her. She's worried sick because of that and negative thoughts are starting to cloud her mind. Her father and William are always been a threat to their relationship. When Patricia was young, she would cry for help to escape everything that pains her. She wanted to disappear and die so she could stop feeling helpless. She learned the hard way, and she doesn't want to repeat the same mistake of not doing anything about her problems. She's tired of running away just because she can't control the situation according to her will."Are you sure we'll be okay here?" Lily asked when they arrived at their townhouse. She called her best friend so Patricia could inform Lily about her plans. Patricia just wanted to tell Lily, but the girl was hardheaded and insisted on coming.Patricia stared at the manor, "Yes, this is the place. The answer to my questions.""I'm not sure. Alejandro-"The slip of Lily's tongue made Patricia suddenly feel the churn of burning sensation crawl on her skin. It's not a good one though. Her stomach churns at the sound of her husband's friend."What do you mean?"Her best friend's eyes start to wander around, not meeting hers. So s
She left. His wife left him. Luca was devastated when he went home and couldn't find Patricia. He already had a hunch that his wife won't easily forgive him, but he didn't think it would resort to this situation. His wife knows how dangerous it is to leave without a bodyguard, but being the hardheaded woman she was, she still left the house without someone."Fuck it." He whispered under his breath. A part of him is relieved to know where she is, but it's still not enough. He wants to hold her. Luca can never calm down unless he is with his wife. She may not know it, but Luca put a tracker on her engagement ring. So he knows that she's on her way to the abandoned house they were supposed to visit."Your wife's hold on you is scary," Alejandro commented when he saw the devastated and horrified look of Luca.Luca threw a glare at his friend because he knows what Alejandro is thinking, "Shut up."Instead of shutting his mouth to save himself, Alejandro cracked a sly smile. "What are you doing here?""I see you are now back in your apartment. Did you already find out that your husband is a mafia don? How does it feel?" William asked tauntingly. He's very different from the soft spoken William she once had.Just when Patricia thought her day couldn't get any worst. William showed up in her apartment. How did he knew doesn't matter anymore. For sure her father sent him to take Patricia back. They're probably laughing because of her misfortune."You've been keeping tabs on me? Why can't all of you just mind your own business?""Your parents are worried of you."Patricia scoffed, only a fool would believe that her parents really cared for her. "Sure, they are.""Let's go home, Tricia. Stop living this kind of life.""Kind of life?""As Patricia Arquette. Stop it. You deserve the whole world, you should travel and wore expensive things. Go and do everything you want, you don't need to work your ass for money. You have that already.""You're ridiculous. What h
"Stop." She pleaded when Luca was about to take a step towards her.He halted on his step, his cold eyes bore to her. "Didn't I tell you to go home? What the fuck are you still doing here?""Are you for real?! Really, Luca?!"He sigh in resignation, "Let's go home."Patricia took a step backwards, wiping away her tears. She can't believe she fell for his trap. "No! Who are you, really?""D-didn't she knows what you do Luca?" Isabella tauntingly asked even though she's having a hard time."Shut up." Luca gritted his teeth. His comrades didn't do anything, they better knew not to let Luca's wife see such cruelty."He kills people, Patti. He's part of the mafia. He works on the shadow, trying to lure people into his world."Patricia stared at Luca in disbelief. She can't believe that the man she had shared her dreams about is one of the people she hates the most.Luca knew how she hated the guts of a mafia. Out of all the people Patricia trusted, Luca is the one who managed to enter and
