"How was it?" Kelsey greeted her when she made her way outside.
"Your boss is crazy! I hate him so much!" Patricia vented while running her fingers through her hair.
She's huffing because of irritation. Well, irritation is an understatement, she loathed him. Really really hated him.
"Here's his lunch... And yours too."
"Mine?"
"Your nana said we should eat on time. And didn't you say you will bring him lunch?"
Patricia laughed with no humor, then stridden towards Kelsey. She bit her lower lip when she saw the food.
"I'm getting my lunch, but to hell with that damn arrogant man. Don't feed him."
Kelsey laughed then get the food before she went to the door, "You really need to be careful. Didn't you know that there's a CCTV with audio in here?"
If Kelsey said that earlier, Patricia would have been feeling embarrassed. But she got to meet Silvestri and she hated him.
"I ducking hate you, Silvestri. Burn in hell." She stated loud enough for him to hear on his audio.
Patricia planned on going back to the company, she just waited for Kelsey to be back so she could thank Kelsey for the food.
After a minute or so, Kelsey showed up smiling. "Boss said that you're funny, but still declined your proposal interview."
Patricia rolled her eyes, "I'm going. Thanks for the food."
"He said he is not a fan of ducks, make sure not to say it again when he's around," Kelsey added.
Patricia didn't mind Kelsey. She just waltzed her way outside the bastard's company. While driving, she called her best friend, Allison.
"Hey. How was it?"
"He is a bastard! A prick! An a*hole. I loathed him."
Her best friend laughs on the other line.
"I'm sure he is handsome as hell. Don't you find him attractive at all?"
"Of course." She mumbled, "Of course he is handsome! But the attitude? Gosh, I can't take it. He is getting on my nerves. The patience that I have to practice for years? Gone! All because of that arrogant man! It's just an interview, it won't harm him. What's his problem?!"
"Relax, calm down honey. The boss wants you here. I think he is giving you an ultimatum."
"Ultimatum?!"
"If you can't get Mr. Silvestri, they will assign someone to replace you."
"He can't do that! Silvestri is mine and in fact, I just have a deal with him."
"Deal?"
"I'll tell you when I get there."
"Okay, hurry up. Take care."
"Bye."
Patricia is so worked up when she arrived at the company. She wasn't feeling friendly to greet anyone who greeted her. Once she was settled inside the small office of her boss, she started talking before Clinton could talk.
"Silvestri agrees."
Clinton's jaw dropped. It brings him joy, but he seems to see her words suspicious.
"Mr. Luca Silvestri agreed?"
"Yes," She confidently said, although she wanted "You can call him if you want. I have his secretary's number."
Patricia got one of Silvestri's business cards, well technically it is his but it's the information of his secretary.
"Patricia. Are you sure you got the exact Luca Silvestri? The CEO of Wolves Tech?"
"Yes, boss. You can check it by calling them."
"How?"
"Huh? What do you mean how?"
"Our company isn't big enough, we are just starting. Mr. Silvestri is very picky and—"
"Well he agrees, isn't that what we should be happy about?"
"You are really a heaven-sent Patricia!" Clinton shouted in glee when it finally sinks on him.
Everyone on the team praises her, though except for one. It is only expected that Isabella will disagree with whatever Patricia is doing.
"I'm wondering how did you do it. Did you seduce him enough to agree to the interview?"
"No, not really. But we're going to have dinner tonight. So thank you for your advice, maybe I should seduce him so he won't entertain another journalist. What y'all think?" Patricia sarcastically replied.
"That's a good idea!" Clinton agrees, showing her thumbs up.
"You're all crazy. I'm going home."
"Make sure to choose your dress wisely, my Angel!" Clinton shouted.
She shakes her head when she gets back to her car. She lied about the dinner, and Patricia used it to secure her hold on Silvestri's interview. She stared right in front of her, contemplating her decisions in life.
Then, her phone rings. An unknown number was shown as the caller.
"Hello?"
"Let's have dinner." A familiar voice on the other line said.
"Who are you?" Patricia still asked to make sure.
"The one you've been fucking, come on Duck."
Patricia tried her very best to not shout at him. How dare he call her duck?! He is really getting on her nerves.
"What do you want?" She asked in resignation.
"Dinner. 7 pm."
"Pick me up."
"I'm not your chauffeur."
"Let's meet tomorrow then. I don't want to drive when it's late at night."
Plus she's really tired.
"Fine. Get ready at 7 sharp. Text me your address."
When the call ended, Patricia smiled cheekily and then sent her address to Silvestri. Guess dinner isn't really going to be one of her buried lies.
At exactly 7 pm sharp, she heard a knock on her apartment.
"Patti. Your date is here." Her nana excitedly said while fixing Patricia's hair.
She lied to her nana again. Luca is not a date, but that's the only thing she could think of when her nana asked her why she won't stay for dinner.
"I'm going, Nana. Call me if you need anything okay?" Patricia softly requested.
"Silly little child. Go and enjoy your date."
"I love you nana."
"I love you, too, Bambina."
When she opened the door, the sight of Luca's handsome face with a casual outfit caught her off guard. 'Cause when she said casual, she means a black shirt and shorts. Not the one she was expecting him to wear.
"What the eff are you wearing?"
"You said to pick you up when you could have driven to my house."
"Excuse me?"
He frowned when he examine my dress, "What are you wearing?"
"Something to seduce you, they told me to."
"Hello, young gentleman. Pardon my beautiful granddaughter, she got something on her brain." Her nana interfered.
"Nana!"
Luca Silvestri chuckles. He actually chuckled making Patricia breathe a sharp intake.
"It's okay madamé. It seems to me that your granddaughter is making her moves to put a chain on me."
Nana laughed hard, "Oh you. Now go lovebirds and enjoy your date okay?"
Patricia kissed her nana on the cheek, "Bye. I love you. Make sure to lock the door. Don't wait for me to come back."
After bidding their goodbyes and walking towards the elevator, Patricia spoke.
"I don't want to wear this dress, but my Nana assumed that we will be going to a fancy restaurant."
"We could always go to a fancy restaurant." His emotionless face and voice is back, gone the playful Silvestri that her Nana was talking to.
"I thought you don't like to be interviewed?"
"Hm so?"
"Why are you entertaining me? Why are you bringing me to your house?"
"I have a proposal." He quietly said.
"Proposal?"
"It seems to me that you love lying too much. You lied to get inside my company so it didn't shock me when you lied to your boss saying I agreed to an interview. But I'm quite disappointed that you lied to that old woman of yours."
Insulted, she pushed him with her dominant hand. He did not even budge, but his eyes held a warning.
"What do you want Silvestri?"
"Did you figure out that I put a bugged on you?"
Glaring at him, Patricia's hand landed on his cheeks. She already has a clue about why Silvestri knew about those things. How dumb of her. She remembered that the evil was an owner of a tech company. Of course, he won't let her get away after she messes with him.
"How dare you invade my privacy?"
"Just like how you invaded my space, Patricia."
The loud ping of the elevator stopped them both. Luca strides outside first.
"What are you waiting for?"
"I'm not going with you."
"Well, do you want those lies to spread around like wildfire?"
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Patricia followed Luca's steps.
He smirked before he invaded her space, placing her big hand on her neck as if choking her. "That's right, Duck. Be a good girl and we won't have a problem yeah?"
Patricia was silent the whole ride. She can't still get away from the fact that Luca has access to her. She knew that aside from her lies, Luca knew something more. Something that could destroy her. And she's not sure whether she could take another destruction or if it would lead her to death. When they arrived at Luca's house. He asked her a question."Didn't I tell you to convince me more?""I'm seducing you tonight." She nonchalantly said.Though she did not mean it. To hell with that man. Luca Silvestri is more dangerous than she thought. Did she make the wrong decision of accepting the job? Will she lose everything she worked hard for?All her life, she's been very cautious about making decisions. Why did it have to be this way now? Where did she go wrong?"I'm looking forward to it.""Oh just shut up!"Luca did shut up, but there was an annoying grin on his face and Patricia wants to wipe it off.Come on, Patricia. Think of something."Do you want to fuck me? That's why you are
"What happened to the dinner?" Clinton asked when Patricia arrived at the office."We talked about when we are going to do the interview and that's by the end of the month since his schedule was hectic.""I still can't believe that Mr. Silvestri would agree to an interview."Patricia heaves a long sigh on her seat."What's the problem? Aren't you happy about it?""No, it's just that it's weird working with your fiancee."Clinton's eyes widen, "What?! What fiancee are you talking about?""Uh. Luca?""Luca Silvestri is your fiancee? Are you... are you sure you're okay? Did you hit your head or something?"She laughs at his expression, "I'm serious. Just don't tell anyone yet, we are not going to announce it until the end of the month.""I'm really wondering why he agreed. So that explains why? When did you two get into a relationship? How did you meet?""The Barone's ball, it's been years. I've been there to interview someone and I bumped into the infamous Luca Silvestri." She stated fl
"What do you mean we need to get married now?""Your father will surely object and would call the engagement off. When we are married, they wouldn't lay a hand on me.""What is exactly your plan, Silvestri?"Luca strides towards his table after making sure that the door to his office is locked."I need protection against your father and lover.""For a hundredth time, William is my brother."He shrugged his shoulder, "If you say so. They've been hitting on me ever since my name boomed up. I'm trying to do my business here, I don't have time for them.""That's the reason why you throw an investigation on me?""It happens that when I saw your face on the internet, you seem familiar."Patricia sighed and closed her eyes to keep her composed. If she refuses Luca's offer, everyone knows that she is THAT Tricia Barone. That Patricia Arquette is just a cover-up for her to do things freely and out of trouble."When are we getting married?""Now. Call one of your trusted friends so they could b
"Who texted you last night?"Luca asked in the middle of having their breakfast. It's just the two of them since they wake up later than usual, her Nana probably went to the park like she always does and comes back very late in the afternoon.Going back, Patricia decided to not tell Luca about her grandfather. She still doesn't trust anyone aside from her grappa and she knows how everyone is plotting harm against him, she can't let anyone get to know in regards to her suspicion about her grandfather's death. Although Luca means no harm, she still doesn't think it was possible to tell him everything about her. But hearing him ask about the message, she was not sure whether he went through her phone or not so she needed to play her cards well."Didn't you look through my phone last night?" She asked to test him."Who texted you last night?" He queried again, annoyance was lace in his voice.Patricia scoffed when she saw his expression, "Don't act like some sort of jealous husband, Silve
A week. It's been a week since Patricia is giving Luca cold shoulders. After that incident, she remained silent and even her Nana asked her what's the problem all about."Are we really going to do this again, Duck?" Luca asked when she get out of the shower. It's Sunday morning and she decided to go to church with her Nana, and of course, with Luca who is now well dressed up in all black while she's all white. Patricia just stared at him before she went to the vicinity to brush her hair. Though Luca steals it away from her and is the one combing her now. She finds it sweet."I just want you to relax while the Pro-Live Magazine Company is being renovated. What's so wrong with that?""Really, Silvestri? You didn't ask for my permission.""Finally," he whispered before he stopped brushing her hair and then hugged Patricia from behind, "You talk again."She tried to get away from his hug but it only tightened. Luca rested his chin on her shoulder, she can perfectly see their reflection in
Patricia sat on the long longue, staring at her parents and William who stared at her with bewilderment, she hated his guts. After the incident where she found a clue that their wedding date might be the password, she immediately went to the house to confirm it.But her parents block her way, as always. They won't let her get inside as if she is going to steal something important from them. which is honestly not the case."Why did you come back? Did you change your mind about your husband?" Her father asked in disdain, clearly indicating that he doesn't like her husband. Mr. Baron probably did not expect Luca to decline his offer and that made him furious because he doesn't get what he wants."Technically, this is my house. It's my grappa's gift for me." Patricia spouted nonchalantly, she honestly don't want to say it to them, but they are making her act like this. Or maybe not, maybe she is always been like this to them. Never considering their feelings like how they never considered
"No, that's not the password." The words rolled out of Patricia's tongue with bitterness. Disappointment is visible on her face and she knows that Luca can see it, but never said anything about it. She can't believe she fell for that trap of whoever sends the message. She's sure that person is trying to play mind games with them. "How'd you know?" His brows quirk up. "Silvestri, you think I didn't try every possible password my grandpa would use? That's my grandparents' wedding anniversary. It didn't work." "Maybe it's our anniversary then." "No, I don't think so." "Did you even try it?" Luca's question was meant to mock her. She knew it by the look on his face. Sometimes she doesn't understand him. Luca's personality is still a mystery to her. Even though she grew up observing people's actions and words, Luca made it impossible for her to guess what he is thinking. It's almost as if he was born to be someone no one could figure out unless he tells them everything, which would
"You did what?" Patricia's best friend, Lily, asked on the other line. After her confrontation with Luca, she immediately went home and facetime her best friend. Lily knows everything about her. Their friendship is composed of trust and openness— one can rarely find someone who shares the same bond as theirs."I told him to get lost and find a place to stay because he's not coming home."Lily gaped at her, "It's his house, Patti.""I know.""And you told him that? Why would he listen? I mean you're my friend, but he's entitled to stay there because it's technically his house. He owns that." Her best friend asked in disbelief. She gave Lily a dirty look, "I'm his wife.""So?""Well, whose side are you?"Lily rolled her eyes, "For the record Mrs. Silvestri," She emphasizes the word Silvestri as if its purpose is to slap Patricia's face with the fact that she just kicked her husband's ass out in his own damn house."I don't know, Lils. I'm not sure if I did the right thing trusting him w
When Patricia was young, she would cry for help to escape everything that pains her. She wanted to disappear and die so she could stop feeling helpless. She learned the hard way, and she doesn't want to repeat the same mistake of not doing anything about her problems. She's tired of running away just because she can't control the situation according to her will."Are you sure we'll be okay here?" Lily asked when they arrived at their townhouse. She called her best friend so Patricia could inform Lily about her plans. Patricia just wanted to tell Lily, but the girl was hardheaded and insisted on coming.Patricia stared at the manor, "Yes, this is the place. The answer to my questions.""I'm not sure. Alejandro-"The slip of Lily's tongue made Patricia suddenly feel the churn of burning sensation crawl on her skin. It's not a good one though. Her stomach churns at the sound of her husband's friend."What do you mean?"Her best friend's eyes start to wander around, not meeting hers. So s
She left. His wife left him. Luca was devastated when he went home and couldn't find Patricia. He already had a hunch that his wife won't easily forgive him, but he didn't think it would resort to this situation. His wife knows how dangerous it is to leave without a bodyguard, but being the hardheaded woman she was, she still left the house without someone."Fuck it." He whispered under his breath. A part of him is relieved to know where she is, but it's still not enough. He wants to hold her. Luca can never calm down unless he is with his wife. She may not know it, but Luca put a tracker on her engagement ring. So he knows that she's on her way to the abandoned house they were supposed to visit."Your wife's hold on you is scary," Alejandro commented when he saw the devastated and horrified look of Luca.Luca threw a glare at his friend because he knows what Alejandro is thinking, "Shut up."Instead of shutting his mouth to save himself, Alejandro cracked a sly smile. Further teasing
"What are you doing here?""I see you are now back in your apartment. Did you already find out that your husband is a mafia don? How does it feel?" William asked tauntingly. He's very different from the soft spoken William she once had.Just when Patricia thought her day couldn't get any worst. William showed up in her apartment. How did he knew doesn't matter anymore. For sure her father sent him to take Patricia back. They're probably laughing because of her misfortune."You've been keeping tabs on me? Why can't all of you just mind your own business?""Your parents are worried of you."Patricia scoffed, only a fool would believe that her parents really cared for her. "Sure, they are.""Let's go home, Tricia. Stop living this kind of life.""Kind of life?""As Patricia Arquette. Stop it. You deserve the whole world, you should travel and wore expensive things. Go and do everything you want, you don't need to work your ass for money. You have that already.""You're ridiculous. What h
"Stop." She pleaded when Luca was about to take a step towards her.He halted on his step, his cold eyes bore to her. "Didn't I tell you to go home? What the fuck are you still doing here?""Are you for real?! Really, Luca?!"He sigh in resignation, "Let's go home."Patricia took a step backwards, wiping away her tears. She can't believe she fell for his trap. "No! Who are you, really?""D-didn't she knows what you do Luca?" Isabella tauntingly asked even though she's having a hard time."Shut up." Luca gritted his teeth. His comrades didn't do anything, they better knew not to let Luca's wife see such cruelty."He kills people, Patti. He's part of the mafia. He works on the shadow, trying to lure people into his world."Patricia stared at Luca in disbelief. She can't believe that the man she had shared her dreams about is one of the people she hates the most.Luca knew how she hated the guts of a mafia. Out of all the people Patricia trusted, Luca is the one who managed to enter and
After her interview with Catarina, Luca made sure that it was nothing. He once worked for them, but it's just it. Although it made her doubtful, she trusted him. And she's glad, because their relationship started to go well.A frown was evident on Patricia's gorgeous face as she scanned her phone. She's waiting for her husband to arrive and pick her up but it's already 20 minutes after she finished interviewing one of the elites. Luca was never been late, and tonight is the first time that he failed to fetch her. She's worried sick because of that and negative thoughts are starting to cloud her mind. Her father and William are always been a threat to their relationship. It's been months and her parents couldn't still accept the fact that she married Luca. And it's also been months since their investigation about her grandpa's death was halt. She tried to call Luca again after multiple times of trying, but he is not answering the phone.Did something bad happen?"Are you okay?" Patricia turned on the recorder before she starts the interview. Catarina, Don Lorenzo's youngest daughter, is one of the activists calling for change. She hates to admit it, but Catarina had influenced numerous people to participate in specific campaigns."Let's start with your introducing yourself," Patricia trailed as she stares at the paper in front of her."Catarina Lorenzo, youngest daughter of Don Lorenzo. Law student.""Direct to the point. Why did you become an activist yourself? Are there any reasons or specific happenings which made you turn this way?""I am aware that my Dad has been very active in illegal activities in the past, but I'm different. I wanted fairness in this country. The reason why I pursue law was not to influence or manipulate the truth. But to speak for the people whose voices were stolen from them."Patricia won't deny that Catarina's answer is on point. She admires her for that, but she still doesn't fully trust her. It could be a facade.'Let's give h
Attached there was the familiar address of their vacation house. It's been decades since Patricia's family went there. It was said to be abandoned by the family, and even her grandfather didn't talk about it for as long as she can remember."We can go there if you really wanted answers," Luca suggested while she remained silent. She's contemplating. Does she really want to do it? What if someone is just playing with her? Perhaps it could be her father trying to lure her into darkness, thinking she will change her perspective on how to view their choice of life."It's an abandoned house." She said, suddenly feeling lightheaded."Hmm. I asked Alejandro to check it earlier, it's far from being abandoned."Her eyebrows crease together, "What do you mean?""Someone's been living there not until this year."She stared at him in bewilderment. How could that happen? She's pretty sure no one in her family goes there anymore. Not that she's aware of her parents or William's business, but that h
