The broken promise

         Alexandria's pov

It's dark. Too dark for my eyes to gather my surroundings. I blink my eyes, thinking of them to be closed. To only find them open.

Where am I?

Hello?

I speak in my cracking voice. To hear nothing. A cold gust of wind hits me instead. And I shiver. Hugging myself.

Gulping,I step forward into the depths of unknown. To only hear a low growl, more of a painful whimper.

And I still. Looking around in worry.

Was any animal injured here?

Hello?

I speak again, a little more confident this time. Eager to help. To only hear the sound again.

I walk in the direction of it, not caring about anything. The way back, lost but the urge to help the animal in need ardent.

My footsteps slow down to come to a standstill as I realise from where the voice
