Anna's POV

Oh my God! What could Daisy have up her sleeve? I have asked everyone I know, but no one seems to have any clue. It’s like she’s playing some secret game, and I’m stuck in the dark. No one knows what she’s planning for the presentation.

"Any updates?"

Trey barged into my study, his eyes filled with hope, but that hope was starting to look more like a fantasy than reality.

"None yet," I sighed, flipping my pen over my desk repeatedly. "I'm starting to think she was bluffing all along."

Trey ran a hand through his hair. "What do we do now?" he asked, concern written all over his face.

"We wait," I said, my eyes still fixed on the flipping pen. "We don’t have a choice. Unless you have an idea?" I looked up at him, but he only blinked in confusion.

"This round, it’s just you against Daisy," Trey said, trying to pull himself out of the equation. "Not the both of us against her."

I stopped flipping my pen and stared at him, my eyes narrowing.

"You seem to forget who got you to wh

Daisy's POVToday was finally the big day. I couldn’t be more excited to bring my new idea to life. I woke up before the sun came out so I could take my time and prepare properly. I enjoyed a long, warm bath that made me feel relaxed and ready to face the day. After drying off, I went to my closet and carefully chose an all-white suit paired with my favorite black Louboutin heels. I wanted to look confident, professional, and bold. When I grabbed my designer bag, I stood in front of the mirror and spoke softly to myself, as if I were giving a pep talk."Today is going to be the best day of your life. You are a confident badass. Go get the deal!"I smiled at my reflection and pushed my hair behind my left ear, thinking it looked pretty just that way. I then made my way to the kitchen to heat up something to bite on. I knew I could not be both confident and hungry at the same time—do you get me?When I reached the kitchen, I found Liam already there as usual. And oh my, he looked incred

Daisy’s POVThis has to be a bad dream I can wake up from, because if it isn’t, I don’t know what I’ll do."What the hell is going on here?" I yelled, cutting through Anna’s presentation. Everyone in the room turned to face me, their eyes wide and searching for answers. I could feel the tension rise as they glanced from Anna to me, unsure of what was happening."Is there an issue here?" one of the board members asked, looking first at Anna and then at me."Yes, there is a big problem," I said, my eyes fixed on Anna. I could see the calm on her face—as if she were not even surprised by my outburst. It made my anger burn even hotter."Anna is presenting my idea. It’s not a coincidence that we share the same PowerPoint slides, and the very same concept!" I continued, trying my very best to convince them. I spoke with passion, my stomach hardening because I had worked extremely hard on my ideas, and there was no way I was going to let them go without a fight."What are you even talking ab

Daisy’s POV“Daisy, what are you talking about? What happened?” Liam’s voice was thick with worry, his brows furrowed in confusion. His reaction made my stomach twist. Was he still trying to deny it? Playing dumb as usual?Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. “Are you seriously still pretending?” My voice broke, and I could barely breathe through the pain clawing at my chest.Liam put the cake down on the table and took a hesitant step toward me. “Look, I’m confused. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” His voice was steady.“So, you’re telling me Anna didn’t pay you?” My eyes, swollen and red, bore into his, searching for a crack in his expression—a flicker of guilt, anything.“She didn’t. I swear.”If she didn’t pay him, then why did he do it?I swallowed hard, forcing out the words that had been suffocating me since morning. “If she didn’t pay you, then why did you send her my presentation?” My voice trembled, my heart pounding violently against my ribs. “If you hated me

Daisy's POVRight now, I couldn’t care less about anything. I just needed to get to my office and do what I had planned for today. Work was the only thing keeping me sane. If I sat idle, I would think too much, and that would drive me crazy. It had been an extremely boring day at work, so I decided to drown myself in tasks again. Just as I was about to start reviewing some reports, the fax phone on the right end of my desk rang. I immediately picked it up.“Madam, there’s a man here who wishes to see you. He said he’s from Lock Tech Services,” Hazel’s sharp voice came through the receiver.“Oh yes, please let him in,” I replied before hanging up.A few minutes later, a man entered my office. The sound of his sturdy boots thudded against the polished floor as he walked in. He wore worn-out jeans and a black company shirt with the Lock Tech Services logo on the chest. A tool belt rested around his waist, filled with various locksmithing tools. A laminated ID badge clipped to his belt id

Anna’s POVTonight was my night. The night I would impress the board members with Daisy’s app—the one I stole. And no, I had no regrets. This app was my key, my stepping stone, the tool I needed to reclaim the company that was rightfully mine.I had spent too many nights watching from the shadows, too many days pretending to be someone lesser. But tonight, I was nothing less than the star of the show.I wore a short black corset gown, custom-made by Dior. It hugged my body in all the right places, making sure all eyes stayed on me. The dress had no sleeves, but I paired it with long, elbow-length gloves for an extra touch of elegance. Around my neck was the Graff Pink necklace, a statement piece worth millions, and the matching earrings shimmered under the soft light. To complete the look, I wore the Passion stilettos by Jada Dubai—worth more than what some people earned in a lifetime. It was time for the crown to return to where it truly belonged. The moment my car pulled up to the v

Trey’s POV"What do you expect me to do with this damn laptop?" I whispered to Anna, trying to keep my voice low. She was starting to piss me off. Did she really think I could fix this? I wasn’t a damn tech guy.Anna barely glanced at me, her fingers hovering over the laptop keyboard as if she actually knew what she was doing. But the slight tremble in her hands told me otherwise. She was just as lost as I was. Before she could say anything, one of the board members stormed toward us. His face was red with frustration, his phone gripped so tightly that I thought he might crush it."Do something! Right now!" he snapped, barely keeping his voice under control. "We’re already trending for the wrong reasons!"He turned his phone toward us, shoving the screen in my face. My stomach twisted as I read the words clearly:#TurnerFlopOver fifty thousand posts in just fifteen minutes.I clenched my fists. Damn it. Daisy's POVTrey and Anna must be searching for every possible way to fix the app. I could see it in their restless movements, the way their eyes darted around as if looking for a lifeline. With a killer smirk on my face, I could bet they were already suspecting me. But hold on a second—why would I sabotage something I created?I love this app. More than anything, I want people to use it, benefit from it, and see it change lives. Why would I destroy my own work? That would make no sense. But I wouldn’t put it past Anna to have secrets she didn’t want to come to light. A well-placed loop in the app's system could do wonders in exposing them.Trey’s eyes stayed glued to the entrance, and I could tell he was waiting for someone. I leaned in slightly, locking eyes with her, a smirk tugging at the corner of my lips. “Anna, oh Anna, you really never cease to amaze me, do you?” I said, my tone low and challenging.“Do you really think I’m that petty, that I’d stoop so low?” I paused, slowly shaking my head, letting the silence between us speak volumes.“Try harder, sweetheart. That line is growing tired.” My voice dropped to a whisper, and I leaned in closer, brushing my breath against her ear. I could feel her stiffen in response, fury boiling beneath her skin. “It’s becoming a joke,” I added with a slight chuckle, but she wasn’t laughing.“You have some nerve, little girl. Don’t make me remind you of your place.” Anna gripped my hand, but I pulled my hand free with swift, forceful precision. She stared at me, eyes wide, showing the white. “You have no one her

Aunt Emilia’s POVIt breaks my heart. Not just a crack—a full-blown shatter. Years… wasted. Decades spent clinging to a child that wasn’t mine, raising him, loving him more than I loved myself. I gave up everything for Liam including my very own family. I made him my world. And now? Now he’s stabbed me in the back and chosen her. The enemy. Daisy.I wish I could lie to myself and say I didn’t see it coming. That I was blindsided. But the truth? The truth is uglier.I did see it coming.Every little sign. Every glance he gave her, every hesitation in his voice when I warned him about her. Every time he looked through me as if I were just a shadow in his life. It all makes sense now. Everything has fallen into place. All the loyalty I gave him, all the sacrifices—it meant nothing.Knock knock.I flinched, snapping out of my thoughts. The door of the hospital room creaked slightly. “Come in,” I called out, my voice flat, my eyes on the door.It swung open, and there she was—Lily Anne, m

  • Dear Ex, I Want Your Brother    Chapter 35: All for nothing

Liam’s POV“Liam, what are you doing?” Aunt Emilia’s voice rang out, shaky but loud enough to stop me. She looked weak, her face pale and body trembling as she tried to hold herself upright. She was sitting on the cold floor, her hands tied behind her back with a thick rope, and her legs bent awkwardly. The pain was clear in her eyes.“So he chooses his wife over his mother. How touching,” Mateo sneered with a crooked smile, followed by a bark of laughter. He crossed his arms and leaned back slightly, clearly enjoying the moment. I knew what it looked like. I knew how bad it seemed. But trust me—it was all part of my plan.Mateo lifted a hand and gave a small signal to one of his men. The man walked over to the chair where Daisy was supposedly tied up. He untied her carefully, then helped her stand and walk slowly toward me. I couldn’t see her face clearly because her hair covered most of it, and honestly, my eyes were focused on Aunt Emilia. My main goal was getting her out of here s

Liam’s POV – Expanded Version“Where is my mother?” I yelled into the phone, my voice cracking, my fingers trembling as I clutched the device. My heart pounded so violently in my chest that it was all I could hear. I needed to know she was okay. I needed something—anything—to hold onto. I gulped down my breath to stay quiet.“She’s holding up… for now,” Mateo said with a mocking calmness, like this was a game to him. “But don’t you want to know who the other special guest is?” What does he mean by another special guest.I froze, my stomach fluttering.“What do you mean—what other guest?” My voice was tight, my breath caught in my throat.Mateo chuckled darkly, the sound crawling under my skin. “Let’s just say… I hit two birds with one stone.”My mouth ran dry, my palms suddenly moist. My phone buzzed with a notification. I hurriedly opened it, my hands shaking. It was a picture. Aunt Emilia sat slouched, bruised, bloodied, and beside her was another woman—her face hidden with her hair

  • Dear Ex, I Want Your Brother    Chapter 33: Where are you?

Liam's POVI carried my wife, bridal style, to the main house. Nothing was going to stop me today. She was safe in my arms, and that was all that mattered. As soon as I stepped into the house, my eyes landed on Aunt Emilia. She was standing in a hidden corner, shaking her head from side to side, clearly upset."Here you go, you're safe now," I whispered to Daisy as I gently placed her down, hoping my aunt wouldn't start scolding me right away."I'll check on you later, okay? Let me see how my mother is doing first," I told Daisy, brushing a strand of hair from her face. Then I turned and walked quickly toward Aunt Emilia's room. The door to her room was already open, almost like she was expecting me. I hurried in and shut the door behind me."Aunt, I can explain. It's not what it looked like. There were broken glass everywhere, and she could've been injured," I said quickly, trying to defend myself before she completely loses it.She looked at me, her shoulders slumped slightly and wi

Liam's POVThe ride home wasn’t as bad as the other days. I guess today, the traffic finally decided to behave. Thank God. The last thing I needed was another delay on the road. I was already in a hurry. My daily routine now included having private discussions with my aunt, and today was no different. As soon as we made sure no one was listening—doors locked, curtains drawn—that was the right time to speak.“Mateo called me today,” I said, pacing around her room, my voice low. “He threatened me.” I said, running a jerky hand through my hair.Aunt Emilia’s eyes widened. She licked her lips and gulped down the glass of water in the room. I could tell she was already afraid. But I continued.“I don’t know how, but I think he’s watching Daisy. He has eyes on her. I just don’t know from where,” I added, struggling to find the right words. My mood had turned completely dark.“Oh my God,” my aunt whispered with a disbelieving voice, before falling to the floor. Her legs gave up. The shock of

Liam's POVTrust me, I already have more problems than I can handle.“What the hell am I going to do now?” I groaned, dragging my hand through my hair, feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.Link Empire isn’t just any company. It’s my aunt’s legacy—our family’s pride. I can’t let it crash down now, not after all the years of hard work, the sacrifices, the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve poured into building it.I got up from my chair and walked to the wide, clear window of my office. I stood there, staring out at the city. The view usually calms me, but today, even the tall buildings and moving cars couldn’t give me peace. My chest felt tight, my thoughts messy. Then, my phone buzzed inside the pocket of my custom-made black pants. I pulled it out lazily, expecting some useless update from the finance team. But when I saw the caller ID, my heart dropped. You won’t believe who just called.“Liam, Liam. It’s been a while. Haven’t heard from you,” the voice said, light and playful, but I coul

It’s only a matter of time before everything crumbles, and when it does, I’ll be the one laughing last.Today, I couldn't stay in this house. Every corner reminds me of that stupid little girl—Daisy. Liam's POVThere isn't anything I hate more than having the ones I love in danger. The weight of responsibility sat heavily on my shoulders as I stepped into the house. The moment I arrived home, I didn't waste a second. I hurried toward Aunt Emilia's room, my heart pounding with urgency. We needed to have a serious discussion before Daisy appeared.I knocked at the door, inhaling deeply as I waited."Who is it?" Aunt Emilia's voice came from the other side, cautious yet familiar."Liam," I answered firmly. The door swung open almost instantly. "Come in," she said, stepping aside. Her eyes studied me, and I could tell she already sensed that something was wrong.I stepped inside, making sure to close the door tightly before speaking. The room smelled faintly of lavender, the curtains drawn to shield against the late afternoon sun. Aunt Emilia sat on the edge of her bed, her expression neutral but her fingers fidgeting slightly."How are you, Aunt?" I asked, scanning her face, taking i

Liam's POVMy aunt is right. I've become too complacent. I don't understand what the hell is going on with me. Why do I think of nothing but Daisy? I need to get my act together. Immediately after I was done with the discussion I had with my aunt, I moved toward the stairs. As I reached them, I noticed the lights of the living room were on. I frowned, glancing at my watch. Who could be there at this time of night?Slowly, I made my way to the living room. My eyes fell on Daisy, who had just finished a glass of wine. She sat there, lost in thought, swirling the empty glass in her hand.I wanted to talk to her, keep her company, but I knew that would only make things complicated. I turned to head upstairs."Liam, come, let's have a drink," Daisy called from behind. Her voice was calm, almost inviting.I hesitated."Come on," she insisted, opening and closing her fingers in a beckoning motion.I immediately frowned, turning to face her.
