Ciara's POV
We're enjoying breakfast with my parents in the Dining Room early in the morning. I got up early since we have a performance at ten a.m., and I am looking forward to it.
I'm also pleased since, contrary to my expectations, my parents now have more time for me. "Sweetie, do you want us to go on a trip this vacation? Or do you have any plans?" mom asked as we ate.
"Yes, mom," I replied, nodding. "My friends and I had planned a pleasant holiday at the Buenavista, Brett Swimming Pool."
"How about after your get-together with your friends? We're thinking of going visit your grandparents in Surigao City," dad says, interrupting the talk.
"Good idea, dad! Besides, I've been wishing to spend time with both of you, and this will un
Sorry for the delayed post, I have been so busy for this past month at school and have no time to update. I hope this will continue until the end of this chapter. Thank you so much everyone!
Ciara's POVWhen we arrived at McDonald's, Patricia inquired,"What did she say to you?""Nothing,"I explained,"she was just sorry and said her father is coming home today, so Mr. Phillip Garcia will be in Butuan.""Which implies, Shan's father too,"Faith remarked abruptly, sighing,"does Shan already know about this?""I doubt it,"I shrugged."Julie never informed Shan about it. She wants to tell Shan, but she hasn't had the opportunity to meet him yet."I quickly saw Patrick waking in our direction so I stood up in my seat and assisted Patrick in lifting the plate of food."Thanks, Ciar. So, what's our gossip for today?"
Ciara's POVI hurriedly ran out of the fast-food chain to catch up to Shan where I came up to him. I grabbed him and he turned to me, "Shan, where are you going? Please come back."He said bitterly,"No, I'm not going back, I'm heading straight home! I've lost my mood and appetite,"but I stopped him."Shan,"I replied,"what you said to Faith was so terrible. She's simply worried about you, and what's wrong with all of that? Why not give your real father a chance? I'm sure —"He suddenly punched a metal pole which surprised and terrified me,"Can you all mind your own f***ing biz?! Please, don't control my life on who I like being with! Why are you pushing me t
Ciara's POVI was bored viewing movies and clips on Facebook while I scrolled through my phone. Things are different now that Shan is out, and I haven't spoken to him since our earlier fight.I'm not used to being enraged and irritable with each other, but I'll give it some time. My parents are right that he requires time to reflect and change. Maybe he was surprised by what was going on, but I can't make him accept it right immediately, especially since he has no idea who that man is.According to Patrick, I only feel sad for his biological father. I'm sure he misses Shan terribly because Shan is his son, of course. Shan, I'm sure, is unaware of this. Shan's father used to visit him when he was a child, according to Mrs. Anderson, until he was four years old.I was just baffled as to why he hadn't shown up? What a wasting of Shan's chance to get to know h
Shan's POVCiara and I walked towards the restaurant hand in hand. We decided to return, and now it's time to confront him.I sighed and thought to myself, "It's time to give him a chance to let me love myself," and I appreciated Ciara's support and understanding.I looked at my side, who was smiling, and realized that I adored her. It was my fault that it took me so long to discover it. I can't afford to lose her, and I'm not sure what I'll do if she vanishes with me.I noticed that mom, dad, and Phillip were still present when we arrived at the restaurant. I'm not sure what to call him yet, but I'm not sure I want to call him Dad.When Mom and Dad noticed me, they stood up and approached me. Mom hugged me and held my face, his eyes red, "Shan, I'm glad you're back," she murmured before letting go of our embrace,
Ciara's POVToday is the first day of our vacation! Today is October 29th, and my grandmother's birthday is the next day. We're now bringing two cars, one for our family and the other for Uncle Derek's.We intended to seal ourselves in our van while Shan's parents, Jane, and Uncle Derek's family stayed in the other van. I'm confident that Lola's 66th birthday celebration will be a big success.Surigao is something I miss as well. I was born in Surigao City and moved to Butuan City when I was four or five years old. My father's birthplace is Butuan, but she met Mom and also Dad's work before he was deployed to Surigao."Are your things okay there?" dad prompted my friends, as we double-checked our belongings in case someone had forgotten something. The drive from Butuan to Surigao is not long. It takes around an hour and a half.
Ciara's POVThis is the moment of our life and it is our last night in Surigao and tomorrow early in the morning, we will go back to Butuan City. We were just bathing in the very fresh and warm seawater. My grandmother's birthday is the best one yet! Maybe, it was because my parents and everyone I love are with me, together, and now we are all complete, which is what I prayed before for so long.Until now, we have been swimming at night, but who cares? We're enjoying our night out! We can do what we want, even my parents are swimming with us and I can see that they are so sweet together. I didn't see them being sweet before, of course, they are always not around."Wow, these lovebirds are so sweet," my uncle Derek joked toward my parents. For him, it was also the first time he saw my parents so sweet.Dad
Ciara's POVRight now, we're inside the school campus and enrolling for a new semester.Trio Sha together with Patrick and Faith are currently waiting for the announcements of our section and program,"Sir Justine must've announced but what took him so long? I'm so excited to know what section we are in,"Patty complained as she scrolled through her phone.I looked at her and asked,"Sir Justine is the one who will announce the sectioning?""Yeah,"she replied and turned off her phone,"Our section will be a block section and it's strictly forbidden to change section or subjects.""That's so unfair for everyone,"Patrick said
Ciara's POVRight after we pay at the registrar, we are all now in the Robinsons Mall where we are shopping at the grocery to buy snacks because we are going to watch a movie today. We just bought chips, sodas, and anything we will bring inside the cinema to eat.I turned my attention to Shan's new introduction to us, Zam. I approached her and she seemed shocked to see me,"H-hi. Ciara, right?"I smiled and nodded. She is so pretty and I can sense that she is kind,"Yes. So far, how are you? I heard from Shan that you were originally from Manila and moved from France and moved again here in Butuan City."
Ciara's POV“So, is the JPIA not happening anymore?” I asked my bandmates. We gathered at the Accountancy Office because of Kuya Jay's announcement, and he indeed said that the JPIA convention would no longer push through.“Well, it will still happen,” Kuya Jay replied, “but the schedule is in complete disarray. The school heads and Father are already frustrated, so our school will withdraw.”“But guys, your payment won’t go to waste,” said Ate Angeline, one of the treasurers on the JPIA committee board. She took a box and handed it to us, “These are the freebies for the convention plus a five-hundred-peso refund.”After distributing the freebies, we all went out together, and Kuya Jay spoke, “What now, guys? It looks like it really won’t push through.”“Yeah,” agreed Kuya Josh with a smile, “but thank you for the time you dedicated to the band.”Kuya Jay looked my way and put his arm around me, “What about you, Ciara? Next week is our exam, and after that, you’re leaving, right?”I n
Ciara's POVAfter our last class, my friends and I left together when I noticed Zam standing outside in the hallway, seemingly waiting for me.I turned to Patrick and Patricia and said, "You go ahead; we need to talk," and they nodded and left.I looked at Zam again and saw him smile at me. "Uhh, Ciara, can we talk?""Sure. Let's go to the milk tea shop so we can talk properly," I said, and he nodded as we headed downstairs together.I saw the twins, Angelo and Rafael, at the gate. I waved at them, signaling that I wouldn't be joining them.We entered the milk tea shop and ordered our drinks. The staff quickly prepared our drinks, and we proceeded to sit in a corner. Before I could speak, he held my hands and said, "Ciara, I am so sorry for everything. I'm sorry for being mean to you."Seeing his eyes well up, I couldn't help but feel sorry and sad. Zam and I weren't particularly close, but I was becoming emotional. Maybe it's because we’re blood-related, and more so because he's my h
Ciara's POVA week has passed, and I haven't talked to anyone at school, not even at home. Even though Shan and I are neighbors, I haven't spoken to him or met up with him.I know he comes to our house every night, but I don't come out. At school, I don't talk to anyone except Patrick and Patricia. They are the only ones I always talk to, and I am very thankful to Patrick for being there for me, especially during times when I needed a friend and companion. My friends often remind me about my family, but I'm not yet ready to face them, or I'm unsure of how to approach them. Sometimes, I feel like I'm being too dramatic by not talking to my parents.I glanced at Patricia, who was eating and staring at me. "Should I talk to my parents now?"She nodded. "Yes, Ciara. One week is enough time for you to think things through.""Yeah," Patrick agreed. "No matter how angry you are with them, they are still your parents. Yes, they make a lot of mistakes. Nobody is perfect; no family is perfect.
Ciara's POVWe had just arrived at Camella Homes when I suddenly asked Patrick to stop. "Pat, I don't want to go home yet. Please let's go to the playground," I noticed it was nearly nine in the evening. It would be fine even if Patrick left me alone, since I felt safe there."Sure. I'll stay with you, okay?" he replied. I nodded, and he sped off towards the playground.I got off, immediately ran to the park's swings, and sat down. I looked up and saw that it was already a bit cloudy. Good timing; the night will keep me company.Patrick sat next to me and handed me a bag full of milk tea and a hotdog burger. I accepted them and started eating, letting out a sigh.I looked into Patrick's eyes and stared at him. "Pat, why do I always end up hurt?""Ciara, everyone goes through that process," he said. "Everyone has their own struggles, though the ways they handle them might be different.""That's confusing," I said, rolling my eyes. "How could my dad do that?""Maybe it's because he's fri
Ciara's POV"No way," was all I could say. So, her suspicions are true. My mom's suspicions about him were true and accurate."Patrick, hey. We have to go. I don't seem to want to eat here," I said coldly, still my eyes glued at the two of them.I can't believe my father is cheating on my mom! How can he do this to us?!Patrick's face was full of surprise, "W-why? I just want to -""Please," I looked at him, coldly, "can we just go to Uncle Derek's place?""Why? It something wrong? This place is -""JUST, PLEASE! LISTEN FOR ONCE! I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE!" I screamed and I just realized the scene I had just made."Ciara? Darling?" I heard my dad called me. I turned to them and there I saw the face of the woman. I don't know her at all, but her face has registered to me.I turned to Patrick, "I said, let's go. Look at that!""S-sorry. Come on," he said but my dad already got up his feet so I quickly turned back.I quickly stormed off but I felt daddy chasing after me, "Ciara! Please,
Ciara's POVWe ordered some food and went to the seat chosen by them, "Take a seat, Jane. You're very welcome here." Jane was not new to them since they already knew and met Jane a couple of times when we used to hang out at Shan's place and they got to know Jane about her bungling and her intense knowledge and wisdom at a young age."Hey! So, how are your studies, fellow friends?" Jane asked the four of them and I can see that they groaned."Awful.""Stressed.""Tiring.""Haggard."Jane looked at me full of astonishment and turned to them again, "Why is it tiring and stressful? I mean, look at me. I am a student also and I always look fresh when I study and read some lessons. It's not hard."Patrick stared at her with his jaws dropped, "You are such a nerdy, Jane. Probably! You're still on what? Grade one? You haven't even reached subtraction and multiplication yet, so you can say that it's not hard," Patrick said."Oh, it's just the beginning, Jane. You still have a long way ahead
Ciara's POVWe walked and crossed the national highway until we reached the milk tea shop.We went in and Patrick immediately ordered. I immediately took my book on cost accounting and read it."Seriously, study right away Rose, ah? Just chill first and let's just talk about your life,"Patrick said. I looked at him and sighed,"It's that, you've been studying that for almost a week. You've probably memorized the weighted average formula."I laughed,"You're right, Patrick,"I closed the book and put it back in my bag,"Oh, what are we going to talk about?""As for you and Shan,"Patrick sat up,"what's the real score on them? Zam's only been like that for a month."I looked him
Ciara's POVShan immediately separated from me and I could see the annoyance on the face he was holding back. I laughed at her and looked at Jane who was standing in the doorway staring at us,"Hi, Jane! Come on."She rolled her eyes,"There you two are again. Please, I'm not used to seeing you two like that.""Hey, Jane. As much as you know but you're young. Go out and go inside your room,"Shan scolded but instead, she entered Shan's room."I will just stay here, bro. The best thing is let's just watch a movie. It can prevent on what you're planning to do here,"he said and she grinned. Jane is very mature to think even though she is only in grade one. Uncle John even said that she was just like his sister, Faith when she was young.
Ciara's POV"At this time since the first day of school, why don't we introduce ourselves first? It's like I can get to know you all and I won't have a hard time getting to know you when we have oral recitations."I groaned. Why introduce more? What are we? High school? We are college students but we are still considered children because of that introduction!I looked around and never knew all my future classmates. Not everyone here is also my classmate in all subjects because it is only a minor subject and many irregular students are also included.Everyone starts to introduce and thankfully they started in the front row, which means we still have a long way to go.I noticed that other graduating students were also included in our subject, others were also a year ahead of us. See? Do you think we need to introduce more?
