/-Declan-/

All my life, the only thing I have ever truly known was pain. From my mother's hate and curse, to my father's betrayal, to my mate's rejection, to the stigma of killing my father to the tower and many others I would rather not remember.

Yet none could compare to the pain of another rejection.

She didn't know what she had done. She probably thought it was funny… but it wasn't.

My heart rate sped up, and my heart clenched so tight it felt like I was suffocating, but I fought to keep it in.

“Hmmm…” Raven stared curiously at my blank face. “Did I say the words wrong? You seem pretty comfortable.”

With each passing second, it felt like multiple daggers were plunged into my heart.

Rolfe growled in my head and I knew things were going to blow out of proportion in a couple of minutes.

“Raven…” I could barely recognise my own voice. “Take it back…”

“Why should I? Did I hurt your little Alpha pride?” She mocked.

I moved away from her as I felt the shift in my body. Rolfe was f

/-Raven-/This wasn't Declan. I could tell from the glowing red eyes. I now understood why Declan insisted I leave the room. I just wanted to taunt him a little, not infuriate his wolf. The minute he ripped off those chains to pounce on me, I knew I had taken things too far.It was the first time I was ever truly afraid of Declan. I mean, a were breaking off wolfsbane, it was almost impossible. The persistent banging on the door reminded me that there were people outside, trying to get in. Possibly the doctors. I cursed myself for locking the door in the first place. The pain in my shoulders was crippling and he kept sinking deeper into me.“Rolfe please…” I pleaded as blood trickled down my arms. Surprise crossed his features briefly. He probably didn't expect me to be able to tell the difference. “Please stop… you're hurting me,” I pleaded. “Please…”“You. Hurt. Me. First.” He gritted. “I'm sorry… I swear to the goddess, I am,” I pleaded. I thought having those fire wielders ch

/-Raven-/I didn't like Rolfe. Not even a little bit. It felt like I was an open book to him. Like he could read my thoughts without me saying a word.“Walk faster, the woods are more dangerous at night,” he said. “I don't suppose you would care if I fell into a bottomless pit,” I muttered. “I won't,” he affirmed. “As long as you fall after we've found Hannah. I couldn't care less if you threw yourself into the ocean.” I looked ahead in an attempt to ignore the clawing feeling in my chest. What was so special about this Hannah anyway? And how was she his mate when I was his mate as well?“We got into a fight; she misunderstood and rejected me,” Rolfe answered, and I stopped. He pushed me forward. “Keep moving.”“So I am your second chance mate?” I asked.“Regrettably.” I scoffed. Of course. Why did I even think I would be Declan's one and only mate? His true mate, as he put in, when in fact, I was only a replacement. Hannah was the real mate, and I was just a second choice, as

/-Rolfe-/‘Rolfe…’I heard her voice. ‘Can you hear me please?’My eyes flickered to the masked man in front of me. I would have gotten to Raven a long time ago had this man not should up with his little magicians.“I don't know what your deal with Raven is but she is mine. I want you to stay off her,” he said. My bored expression remained the same. The only thing running through my mind was her safety. Raven was one who needed no one because she could protect herself. For her to call me simply meant that things had gotten out of hand. Suddenly, a wave of flames burst out of him.“That's it, fireball. Let them all burn…” He chuckled. I didn't wait to find out what the psycho was on about and dashed off. If he wanted to get Raven, he would have to get to her first. Arriving at the gates of BloodFang, I killed everyone and anyone who tried to stop it. I could still smell her. She was so close…I spotted Timultin leaving a room and as much as I wanted to kill, Raven's life was at

/-Rolfe-/I was at a disadvantage and I was already making plans on how to escape this when Timultin entered with more hefty men.“Kill them all!” He ordered. “Make sure no one is left!” It was that singular opportunity I needed because when the men attacked, I stealthily sneaked out with Raven. As I exited the pack, I knew it was only a matter of time before he came after us. If he was her mate, as he claimed, then her scent would give us away no matter where I took her to.As much as I hated it, I knew I had to claim her and rub my scent all over her. For our safety. Once I got away from the mountains, I sank my canines into her, feeling her delicious blood at the tip of my tongue. A surge of energy rushed through me and warmth spread through me at a rapid rate. It felt undeniably good. I retracted my canines, staring at the mark on her neck. Mine!A strange sense of fulfilment overwhelmed me. I picked her up and resumed the walk to find a perfect resting spot. I couldn't seek

/-RAVEN-/I didn't take him seriously, even with the anger brewing in those crimson eyes. I wasn't going to run even if he had a claw in my throat. “Rolfe, listen to me…”“It's Alpha to you!” He thundered and my body trembled. My knees dropped to the floor as pain shot through me. “Say it!” I clutched to my chest, rattled that he actually used his Alpha tone on me. The pain was increasing with each second I delayed. “I am going to help you find her, okay,” I said instead, reluctant to surrender my pride. Call me arrogant or whatever. “Say. It.” He growled, and this time, the pain was hitting my heart like a hammer. Yet my lips were sealed shut. “Very well then, let's see how long you last with that,” he huffed and went back to his meat like he wasn't just angry minutes ago. The bipolar asshole! He left me wriggling in pain as he proceeded to roast the meat. I struggled to stare at him, feeling the pain seep through my bones. My lips quivered as blood slowly trickled down my nose

/-Raven-/I don't know what I was thinking but at that point, I genuinely believed I could kill him. His eyes flickered open, but there was no form of struggle on his features as I tightened the material around his neck. He peeled it off almost effortlessly and sighed. “Just three hours, that was all I needed. You couldn't even give me that?” My mouth hung open as I couldn't bring myself to believe my efforts to suffocate him went down the drain. His drowsy eyes didn't leave me as he continued, “Is there anything else you'd like to explore? If not, I suggest you go to sleep.” “Sleep?” I muttered. “You think I deserve sleep now? That is genuinely touching considering the fact that you wanted me to fan you all the way to Dreamland.” Rolfe patted the spot behind him. “Lie next to me.” “Why?” I asked. “Because I need your body heat. Isn't that obvious?” The silky voice which let out the words reminded me heavily of Declan. I didn't understand why everything and every moment som

/-Raven- /Hannah's friendly expression shifted in slight confusion. I could tell several thoughts were running through her mind. “Do you know me?” She asked.“No, but I know someone who does. It's probably the same person you're looking for,” I told her and she visibly relaxed. “That's a relief then,” she smiled widely. “I'm guessing this friend of yours is Ronin Hemsworth right?” “Couldn't care less about his name. I just saw him at the artist's shop, describing you and stuff. I guess he is also looking for you,” I shrugged. “Oh,” she mumbled. I smirked inwardly. I knew the name thing was a test. She was trying to see if I was lying to her, which I wasn't if you look at it. Everything I said was completely true.“Could you take me to him, please?” She politely asked.“Of course. Why else would I tell you?” I smiled sweetly.‘Rolfe, I don't know if you can hear me, but I want you to know that you owe me big time,’ I thought. /-Raven-/Returning to the IronClaw pack gave me chills. I still couldn't believe I had been stupid enough to take Rolfe at his word. Why exactly did I think he would just let me go?He wasn't any different from Declan, but he was the worst version. Hannah took a deep sniff of the air, and a sceptical expression settled on her face. “It's been so long since I last stepped foot here,” she breathed. “I didn't think I would ever come back.” “Neither did I,” Rolfe said beside her. “But I'm glad you did. It hasn't been the same without you.” “Me? A mere servant?” Hannah chuckled in disbelief. “Oh please. I bet no one even noticed my absence and half the staff don't even know my name.” Time approached us immediately with some guards. Surprise touched his features the minute he saw her. “You found her!” He exclaimed and Rolfe smiled. “More like she found me.” “I didn't find you. You came looking and somehow found me!” I couldn't help but notice that her tone was a little defensive.

  • Dear Alpha, You Are Not My Type!   Questions

/-Skylar-/My first thought when I arrived at the mansion was to ask Kai about the painting but thinking about Mario's words again, I decided against it. Kai was nobody but my annoying boss, nothing more. He wasn't in when I checked so I headed to my room for a long shower. After showering, my head felt clearer now and I began thinking about the events of the day. Lisa said they were two women, one of them being Amelia so who was the other one and why on earth would they be working together?I tried to think of all my possible enemies back then and my enemies now to see if they atleast shared the same qualities. I started with myself and unfortunately, I was in no way similar to Skylar. From everything Ava told me, we didn't share a single thing in common. I thought about Lisa and Sally. The were almost the same. Cunny, mischievous and very obsessed with Declan. Then I thought about Kai and Declan. Declan used to be a womaniser before I met him. He had many mistresses, and Kai w

/-Kai-/I wasn't one to start a fight. However, I didn't mind bringing down hell on anyone who dared to touch my property and in this case, that property was Skylar. There was simply no way I was just going to stand back and watch Taylor lay a hand on Skylar and get away with it. A rational part of me still insisted that I was going too far. I barely knew this woman and yet, I was here, ready to rage a war with Taylor for her sake. “Sir, are you sure about this?” Anders asked. “What happened? Are you getting cold feet already? You were the one who said you hated seeing her like that, right?” I shrugged. “So you're doing this because of what I said?” He raised a brow. I knew he was baiting me but I wasn't going to give in to his antics and actually confess that seeing her battered made my heart tug in ways I'd rather not experience. “What are you waiting for? Let's go in,” I said, opening the car door. “What are we really going in there to do? The last time he came, he said his

/-Skylar-/Ten seconds passed and I was still staring at the girl that used to be in utter shock. I looked at her in confusion and then at Mario, who didn't understand seem to understand what was going on. “How… how did you get this?” I asked her. A small smile played on her lips. “I'm guessing it finally found it's owner, huh? Selling close to a division house does have it's advantages. That would be $7.20 please.” I was even more confused. “I'm not talking about the price. How do you know her? Who are you?” I asked, taking a step closer to her. Her smile immediately vanished as she slowly stepped back. She seemed frightened like I was threatening her or something. “What are you doing, Skylar? You're scaring her,” Mario held me back but I shrugged his hand off. “I asked a question,” I said icily. “Fine! You're right. It's just my imagination. I have a very creative mind and…”“Bullshit!” I cut her short. “The details are way too accurate for it to be some imagination. Who th

/-Skylar-/I didn't know what to expect now.The artist being a woman was a whole game-changer. Now, I couldn't possibly guess who she was and I knew there was no way Declan would be reborn in a woman's body, right? But then again, I couldn't just jump to conclusions. “Can you take me to her?” I asked him. “I told you it was about a year ago. There is no guarantee that Sally will still be there,” he groaned.“Mario please…” I tried begging. “I have already told you who she is but I am not obligated to take you to her. You know her name, find her yourself,” he said. Wow! I guess we're doing this the hard way then. “Fine! Since you won't tell me, I better just head home and tell your boss that I went somewhere interesting today,” I shrugged and his expression immediately changed. “Are you threatening me?” He frowned. “Why should I? It's called accountability. I'm just going to go back home and tell Kai all about where I've been and who the tour guide was unless, of course, you ar

  • Dear Alpha, You Are Not My Type!   Who is the artist?

/-Skylar-/She sat there looking all bossy and authoritative, her legs crossed. The arrogance in her stance made me want to turn and walk right out of the door. “Ma'am, she's here,” the guard bowed. I glanced at him, wondering why I even agreed to get into the car with him in the first place. Maybe I should have questioned him properly but I desperately needed information on that artist and now, I was being forced to face a woman who believes I am sleeping with her husband. Ex-husband, to be precised. “Good job, Mario,” she nodded in approval then to me, she signalled to have a seat. I sat down just as she asked. “I assume you know who I am,” she said with an air of arrogance like she was royalty. Now I wish I hadn't met her earlier, I would have gladly told her no, just to see her reaction. “I know that you are owing my husband a huge sum of money which is why you are forced to stay by his side,” Gwendolyn went on while I stared with a blank face. “What if I told you that I wil

/-Skylar-/I groaned, burying my head in the pillow. I knew he had no control but couldn't he at least use a soundproof room, especially since he was bringing screamers. Three long hours of torture and my ears finally got a break. Just when I thought I could get some sleep for myself, a knock came to my door and I groaned inwardly. What now?I marched to the door with annoyance. It was one of the bodyguards. “The boss said you should clean up,” he informed me. “Are we going somewhere?” I asked him. He looked at me as if I was the dumbest person to ever exist. “Not that. He wants you to send the girls away,” he said and I wanted to scream. “He could make them scream down and entire building but he can't send them off himself?” I huffed. The guard's expression remained stoic. “Should I tell him that?” I shot him a glare. “No.” I walked out of them room, slamming the door shut behind me with annoyance. I marched to his room to three girls, passed out on the floor. He was by the

/-Gwendolyn-/My fingernails clinked idly against the cup as I sat there thinking about the woman I saw Kai with. Was she the one he was looking for? The reason he wouldn't give me a chance? But she introduced herself as his assistant and…“Don't be stupid, Gwen! What kind of assistant wears that kind of dress? They were most likely coming from somewhere and I was sure as hell that he bought her that dress. Even if she wasn't the one, he was definitely fucking her. And I hated it. Cheap gold-diggers trying to take away my man from me.I lifted the glass to my lips and took a long sip. He wouldn't take me back just because I was sleeping around and signed that he should be taken off life support. Anyone would have done the same. I was just trying to save money. For all I know, he could have died. What difference does it make? I would have raised the kids alone like I am doing now. The door suddenly opened, interrupting my train of thoughts. “Ma'am, you sent for me,” Mario bowed.

The guards were alert now, caught up in the little drama. “I'd like to see you stop me!” I hissed and walked right inside. Surprisingly, the jerk didn't come after me. I headed to my room and locked the door. As much as I would love to go anywhere but here, I didn't exactly have anywhere else to go.
