Maya’s pov

Even after Vince told me that I was staying on the third floor of the pack house, I didn’t believe that they would let me stay in the alpha’s quarters. I kept thinking that perhaps the alpha’s quarters were located elsewhere in the Silverstone pack.

When they led me to my new room in the pack house, I was shocked. When compared to the place I slept in Moonshine, the room was luxurious. Well, any place would be so many times better than that, but this was the kind of place I could have only imagined. The large, comfortable bed, a vanity table with several tubs and tubes resting on it, and a massive walk-in closet filled with clothes of various designs. What really caught my eye was the large balcony that allowed the sun’s rays to illuminate the spacious room.

I hesitated at the entrance, unsure of what to do. What if it was a joke? I didn’t want to get excited over something that wasn’t meant for me. I mean, it could be Nancy’s room…

“Aren’t you going to enter?” Nancy asked

Vince’s pov After seeing how she reacted to my presence in the hospital, I had vowed to myself that I wouldn’t do anything to scare her anymore. She had experienced more than a fair share of fear in her seventeen years on this earth. Even if I had to wait for a lifetime, I would patiently wait for her until she was ready for me.The reason I knocked on her door was to see if she would be fine to speak with me while we were alone. Ever since I saw her panic, I made sure that at least one female was in the room with her whenever I visited. When she opened the door, the wind got knocked out of my lungs. She was just so beautiful in the figure-hugging cocktail dress. My wolf grunted, agreeing with me. I sucked a breath in, allowing her fragrance to tease my senses. Yet, I knew I couldn’t let my wolf, nor my desire, dictate my actions. She was not ready for me yet.All I wanted to do was declare to the entire world that she was mine and mine alone. Vince’s povHaving something with her scent on it put my heart at ease. It didn’t quite fulfil my desire for her, but that was okay. I knew I could wait. I wasn’t really sleepy when I retreated to my room, regardless of what I told Mark. I just wanted to spend some time enjoying her scent before I went to bed. I lay wide awake on the bed. It wasn’t until a notification on my phone alerted me of a message that I realised that I had spent quite some time all by myself in my room. My lips twitched. It had gotten pretty late already, and I still couldn’t sleep. If only I could talk to her once more…Perhaps I should buy her a phone.A smile curled on my lips. Yeah. A phone would be nice. ***My eyes almost bulged out of their sockets when I saw her the next morning. She was wearing a pair of black tracksuit pants with pink lines on the sides and a matching workout top. The thing was, the top was sleeveless and highlighted every inch of her beautiful curves. At least it had a high neck a

Maya’s povHow in the world could he be so smoking hot? It must be illegal to be that good-looking. I stole a glance in his direction as he entered the closet and closed the door behind him. As soon as the door closed, I snapped. What was I doing? He was the freaking Alpha, and I was a mere omega. Having illicit thoughts about him could land me in a tonne of trouble. I forced myself to focus on the work I was supposed to do. The Alpha’s quarters were pretty well-kept. There wasn’t any dust on the furniture, so wiping them down wasn’t much work. I hoped to get my work done as soon as possible and get the hell out of there. But no matter how much I hurried, I knew I wouldn’t be able to clean the entire suit before he got out of the closet. My fingers tightened around the broom’s handle when I heard the closet door open. I didn’t peer over my shoulder, fearing I would do or say something inappropriate. He was my Alpha and my saviour. I should respect him.“Have you had your breakfast

Maya’s pov“Harder! Is that all you have got? I don’t feel anything!” Nancy was screaming at me as I punched the boxing pads she held. We were both drenched in sweat, and I was already doing my best, but that didn’t seem to satisfy this lady. I gritted my teeth, summoning all the strength I could muster. My muscles were sore from all the pushups and lunges. What was she expecting from me?“Come on! I know you can do better than that. Why are you holding yourself back? Punch me like you mean it! Who do you hate the most? Huh? Who do you want to punch in the throat? Maybe he is coming back to get you. Those punches will feel like a soft caress, and he will get you, Maya.”Who I hated the most? Well, it was Nathan. Three months have passed since my last encounter with him in Moonshine. I would like to say that I had let go of that horrible experience, but my blood boiled at the recollection of that pervert. There was no way I would allow him to touch me ever again. Even death would be

Maya’s povMark tried to hold him back, but Vince was way stronger than him. He pushed him away and barged inside. Even though my wolf hadn’t woken up yet, I could clearly tell that his wolf was more in control of his body at that moment. “Alpha! Stop!” I thought I heard Nancy screaming. I wasn’t sure of what was going on. The environment was too chaotic. With my heart pounding in my chest, I backed away until my back pressed against the wall. I was at my wits end when he lunged right at me. He suddenly stopped in his tracks just a short distance away from me and stared at me with a funny look in his eyes. It appeared as though he was in conflict with his wolf. I didn’t quite understand what was happening, but I knew it was a rather dangerous situation. The only one who could tame an alpha was his mate, and unfortunately, our alpha hadn’t found her yet. Four warriors suddenly rushed into the room, probably on Mark’s command. Apparently, Alpha Vince wasn’t in a condition to give ou

Maya’s pov“Hey, we are here,” Nancy announced, pushing the door as she walked into the study. Wishing I had an opportunity to know more about this girl called Rachel, I followed her in. Vince and his beta were sitting in front of the laptop. A map was spread out on the table with markers placed here and there. Mark did this weird raising his eyebrow thing to acknowledge my presence while Vince pretended to be interested in whatever was on the screen. “Alpha, beta,” I said to greet them.“I wish you wouldn’t call me that,” Mark mumbled. My lips curled in amusement. I just shrugged my shoulders and didn’t respond. He and Alpha had insinuated several times over the past three months that I call them by their first names. However, I didn’t see that as fit. “Have you had your dinner?” beta Mark asked me. From my peripheral vision, I noticed that Vince glanced my way over the top of the laptop. I ignored it. Perhaps he was still embarrassed by what happened earlier.“Yes,” I said. “It w

Vince’s pov“Mark, I am putting you in charge of the pack. Remember to update me with every little thing that happens here,” I said as I shook his hand before leaving.“You can count on me, Alpha,” he said. I knew I could trust him. It wasn’t the first time I had to leave the pack on official trips. The difference this time was I was leaving my heart in the pack while I attended the summit. And after she mentioned the possibility of Nathan being involved with the rogues, my heart had been in unrest. I didn’t want to leave until the rogue situation was solved, but the summit wouldn’t be delayed. And not attending it would cause a lot of trouble. I looked at Nancy. “Look after her,” I said.“Say no more, Alpha. I will make sure she is entertained and protected all the time,” she promised.“Alpha, the car is ready.” I glanced at the guards who were dressed in suits to accompany me to the summit. I nodded my head and looked at my betas. “See you all later,” I said, my gaze briefly drift

Maya’s povThere was definitely something in my head, and surges of energy were flowing through my body. I anxiously stared at the exposed skin on my arm. Whenever I saw the wolf shifting, the first thing that happened was fur sprouting on their skin. My heart pounded in my chest as I awaited something to happen.I kind of wished there was a warning before the first shift. Something like my wolf speaking with me before all that happened. But I guess wolves liked dramatic appearances. I looked around. The pack house was a few feet away, but I didn’t know if it was safe to go in there anymore. A wolf in the pack house wasn’t very convenient. Especially since it was my first shift. I slipped my phone into the pocket of my jeans. Oh, right, I was still wearing clothes. I had often seen the clothes being torn or removed during a shift. My lips quivered. Was I supposed to stand stark naked all by myself? Well, that wasn’t how I anticipated my first shift to be. I looked around once again

Maya’s povI thought life would be perfect after mating and marking Vince. Especially when the pack members accepted me as their luna without any hesitation, despite the old alpha’s disapproval of me. I learnt how to dismiss his judgemental gazes and unfriendly demeanour. I was determined to win his approval and eventually be loved by him. After all, he was my father-in-law, and his approval meant a lot to me. There were times Vince deflected the topic when I talked about doing things he liked, probably because he knew he disliked me. But wouldn’t he at least try to accept me as his son’s mate? Destiny had put us together, after all. I kept my hopes high, hoping to get some sign of approval before the official luna ceremony, but to my disappointment, I got none. The day of the luna ceremony came. Invitees from all around the werewolf community started to arrive at Silverstone pack. Mark and Nancy took charge of everything from preparing the open ground for the ceremony to escorting

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   Rogue's Determination

Maya’s povIt wasn’t the first time I walked down the dimly lit dungeon corridors, but this time, a sense of responsibility towards my pack filled my heart. Though not officially announced, the pack members seemed to have accepted me as their luna. The guards, prison workers and the omegas we encountered on our way to the cells bowed their head as a gesture of respect when they saw me. At first I thought they were showing respect to their alpha as Vince was with me the whole time, but even after he walked past them, they showed respect to me. It was overwhelming. However, when we reached where Nancy and Mark were interrogating a rogue they captured from the battle field, my focus turned towards him. He was chained with silver - probably to weaken his wolf so he wouldn’t shift and fight against the guards out of the blue. Regardless, the determination on his face didn’t waver. Our gazes met and his lips curled in a sneer. I raised a brow. He didn’t have a reason to sneer at me. Or per

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   Dreamers

Maya’s povLosing my V-card to him and getting marked in the woods felt surreal. For a moment, I thought it was a dream, but when I saw him sleeping beside me when I woke up the next day, I had to believe that it wasn’t my imagination. A smile curled on my lips as I watched the sleeping Greek god. I couldn’t believe that I was so lucky. All this time I was suppressing the feelings of attraction towards him. There was no need for that anymore. I could drool over his toned chest and abs to my heart’s content. My gaze travelled towards the ink on his body. I had always thought he looked spectacular with his tattoos. My favourite mark on his body, though, was the mark on the crook of his neck—the mark that branded him as mine. I giggled to myself. Mine! I actually had someone I could call mine. How wonderful. He stirred in his sleep, probably because of my giggles. After stretching his body, he opened his eyes, a smile spreading across his face as soon as he saw me awake. “Hey,” he gr

Vince’s povFinally! I was allowed to act on my desires. I held her soft body in my arms, careful not to hurt her. I didn’t want to see a single bruise on her pale skin. The only mark on it would be a mark of love. When she kissed me back, my heart fluttered in my chest. Yes! I had been yearning for that for so long. Ever since I found her, I had been subjugating my wolf and my heart, trying to ignore her enchanting scent of lavender, and reminding myself not to act on impulse every single day. I didn’t want to scare her. She had been through enough trauma already. All I wanted to do was love her. I wanted to show her what love was. I wanted to prove to her that the world wasn’t that bad.Her scent drove me crazy. I played with her lips using my tongue, trying to penetrate into her mouth. I wanted to taste her sweetness. She didn’t resist for long. Soon, our tongues were entangled in a synchronised tango. She wrapped her hands around me, pressing her soft breasts against my chest. I

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   Is This a Trick?

Maya’s povWhat? Mate? No, it must be a mistake.I tried to deny it, but the minute his wolf started to walk towards me, I froze. It was as though the world around us stopped existing and we were all by ourselves. His aura got stronger with each step he took. His scent continued to pull me into a reverie, and it didn’t help that Eleanor kept calling him mate.So I was his mate? Not Rachel? Was that the reason he pushed her away? It gave me hope. Perhaps I still had a chance at having a happy ending. I gazed deeply into his emerald eyes, glistening in the moonlight. Everything came to a standstill when he stopped in front of me. If wolves could talk, Eleanor would have screamed at the top of her lungs. The entire forest seemed to remain silent as our wolves just stared at each other. My heart thumped in my chest as I wondered what went through his mind. If what Eleanor felt was true, his wolf also should be confirming that we were mates. The question was, would he want me as his luna

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   Rogue Attack

Maya’s povI gaped at her. So they really did it. When Mark and Alpha Vince mentioned the random rogue sightings, I didn’t think they would actually attempt to attack the borders. I never thought they would be a threat to the security of Silverstone. In fact, it was the first time I had heard about a rogue attack. Even when I was in Moonshine, the rogues didn’t dare launch a calculated attack on an established pack. Capturing a rogue who was wandering a little too close to the pack’s premises wasn’t unheard of, but a full-blown attack? That was new. I inhaled a deep breath. “Where?” I asked. She shifted in her seat uncomfortably. “At the eastern side of the border. The guards are fighting against them, but I have to go there. Mark is already in his way.”I grabbed the steering wheel, my gaze locked on the road. “So to the eastern side?” I said. I didn’t know what I would do once I arrived at the scene. All I knew was that I wanted to help.“No,” Nancy said, to my surprise. I looke

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   Gift

Maya’s povIt was weird when I caught the attention of most of the attendees. I was never the centre of attention, and I preferred it that way. Having them stare was just uncomfortable. I scanned through the crowd, wondering if Alpha Eric was in the crowd. I hadn’t noticed him in the open ground despite being invited. Well, perhaps it was a good thing he didn’t join the dinner. He didn’t like me anyway. The younger wolves, especially the ones I trained with, grinned at me and nodded their heads in approval. But the older ones stared for a while, mumbling among themselves. I heard parts of their conversation. Most of them were a bit too surprised to see the colour and size of my wolf. Yes, white wolves didn’t exist in the south, and Eleanor was a large wolf. I guess no one expected someone like me to have a wolf the size of an Alpha. Heck, I also didn’t expect that. I always thought my wolf would have been an omega. Anyway, that didn’t mean my wolf and I were any special. Nancy introd

  • Dear Alpha. I'm Not Your Mate   First Shift

Maya’s povHer words stunned me. Mate? How could I have a mate? Wasn’t I rejected way before I could have the pleasure of finding out what he smelt like? I was unwanted and cast aside way before I knew how enchanting the bond was. Was my wolf delusional? Didn’t she know I was rejected? All this time, I assumed she knew about the rejection, despite me not mentioning it. My smile vanished. Not having a partner didn’t bother me, but when my wolf thought that we had a mate, that stung a bit. Besides, how could she smell him here? That loser was nowhere near. I wasn’t even in his pack anymore. “Uh, Eleanor, I think you are mistaken. We don’t have a mate,” I told her. She clicked her tongue, irritated by my words. “What? How could you say something like that?”“Well,” I said, a sigh escaping my lips. “Because we were rejected. Our mate didn’t want us because we weren't... the kind of luna he wanted to lead the pack with.”“Hmm. This cannot be him, though. That jerk is in Moonshine, and w

Maya’s povFor everyone else, it was just another night, but for me, it was the night I had been waiting for my whole life. As the whole pack house lay still as midnight approached, I lay awake staring at the wall clock as the minutes ticked away. I didn’t try to suppress the smile curling on my lips. It was finally time for me to become a wolf. With my heart fluttering in my chest, I sat on my bed. Once the clock struck twelve, it would be my birthday, and during the next twenty-four hours, I would have my first shift. I didn’t know when. I had seen some wolves transform into their beasts in the morning and some in the evening. It was a pity that I didn’t know if I was in the morning or night. If I did, I would know what to expect.I wasn’t sleepy, so I walked towards the balcony in the room and gazed into the sky. It was a beautiful night with the full moon illuminating the sky. The star-studded sky looked like a dark cloth embedded with tiny diamonds. I smiled and took a breath. Gr
