Chapter 5 The Devil's Offer

The deafening silence filled the whole cafeteria. I used it as an opportunity to stand up and get my ass out of the scene. That's right Cole. Distract them. Buy me some time.

The A-hole called Missile is staring intently at Falaguerra with an amused expression.

I don't really care if they cause a scene as long as I'm not involved.

"You must be Prisoner 13..." he slurred at him. I slowly stepped back while silently praying that the two hobos beside Missile will not notice me. Catching a black eye is the last thing I want to happen right now. "I heard you don't come out of your cell. Are you scared because your Mama's not here?"

The four guys behind him laughed. But aside from them? Nobody else did. It seems like everyone is scared that Cole will be after them if they do.

They slowly realized that they're the only ones laughing. The place became more silent after that. Missile's smirk faded.

"Looks like these stupid babies fear you?" he remarked, scanning his eyes on everyone. "I wonder why?" There's a hint of amazement on his face. Well, everyone's gangster in here. Each and every one of them have committed a felony.

There's a reason why they're contained in a maximum security prison.

I mentally cried thanks to God when I successfully hid myself in the sea of entertained prisoners. I can still see the scene through the gap between the two big guys in front of me.

"Why don't you answer me now, Superman? Did you shit yourself?" he taunted. They laughed again. Cole is just standing there looking at him. There's no hint of emotion in his eyes. I can't read him. He's too complicated.

But what really caught my attention is the dust on his shirt. It looks like concrete.

The guy in front of me gasped when Cole slowly tilted his head like he was stretching his neck. My brows arched when I heard a crunchy crack.

"Do you really want to know why..." he finally spoke using his monotonous voice.

"Let's get out of here!" The other big guy in front of me exclaimed using a whisper voice. I looked at them confusedly.

Okay?

I mean I'm sure that the police will come here to stop chaos from happening.

They will come. Right?

"Show me what you got, Vanisher." There's a hint of provocation in Missile's voice. It's as if he's ready to kill Cole right here right now. Where the fuck are the guards?

I followed a gaze to the two guys hurrying out of the cafeteria. They really took off. The hell?

Missile was about to go near Cole when one of his affiliates whispered something to him with a visible fear on his face. His forehead crumpled slowly as he listens to him carefully. He looks at Cole again.

"Motherfucker..." I heard him cussed.

The guy beside him slowly pointed the red glowing light beneath Cole's shirt. Everyone started running out of the cafeteria. Even Missile and his stupid gang ran out. Astounded, I stood there like a tree and watched them ran for their lives. Was that a bomb? It was too late for me to realize that I am left alone with Cole in the cafeteria.

He turns his head in my direction. I gulped. Shit.

"It's nice to see you again," he said in a seductive tone. My pupils turned into a small dot. He remembers me.

Are you stupid, Bright? Of course, he remembers you. You visited him just yesterday. How can he not remember you when he harassed you using just one leg.

I unconsciously grip the innocent chair near me. Every object I see right now is turning into a weapon because of him. My initial reaction is to defend myself with anything I can reach with my hands. I started shaking uncontrollably. The red light is still glowing beneath his shirt. I worked with a K-9 that can detect explosives before. Bombs don't light up like a remote.

"So, that's how you scare them, huh? With a fake bomb?" I sarcastically said. I'm trying so hard to sound confident. But I know how transparent my emotions are. He must be smelling my anxiety right now.

"I'm not scaring anyone, Detective Bright."

I ignored the annoying butterflies pestering my stomach right now. Why does his voice affects me so much? Geez.

"Don't call me by my name. I never allowed you to call me by my name." I gritted my teeth.

I don't know why I'm acting so defensive about it. I just hate the fact that my heart flatters whenever he speaks my name. I trembled worse when he steps closer and closer to me. I stepped back to stay away from this monster.

I don't deserved to be here. All I did was steal his information.

My eyes grew big when I felt the cold wall behind me.

He smirked.

Cole puts his hand to the chair I'm holding. "You are surrounded by hungry predators, Detective Bright." He slowly crawls his hand to mine. I scowled at him.

"Pissed off!"

"Or else what?"

Here he goes again. That's the same response I got when he harassed me under the table. I was about to lift my hand and punch him on the face when he caught it. I gasped.

"Swifty..." he snickered.

"Let go of me! N--!"

He pulled my waist closer to him using his other hand. I panicked. I started hitting his hard chest with my hands, but he didn't even budge.

"You don't want to activate that bomb, baby. I just made it. I'm still not familiar with its features."

My eyes landed on the glowing red light. He made it?!

"Why would you fucking wear a bomb, idiot!"

I don't know where I got the courage to call him an idiot, but if I'm going to die anyway if that thing exploded. He's literally hugging me right now. I can feel the warmth of his body.

My whole body shivered when I felt his breath on my neck. He is sniffing me!

With all the energy I have left in my body, I pushed him with full force. I immediately moved away from him when I successfully freed myself.

He chuckled sexily. "Sweet scent..." he said.

T-That was my sensitive spot."

I know that you know what will happen to you in the next few minutes as soon as I leave your side. Missile will surely come back for you."

"Why the fuck do you care?" I growled. He pulled the chair and sat with open legs. I looked away when I saw his crotch.

"I have an offer to make," he said. I looked at his emotionless face.

"I will assure your safety in one condition...

Be my slave."

What? No fucking way!

The locks on some of these cells are jokes if you know how to handle them, and I’ve had a lot of time to learn.
