Sophia's POV

I stormed into my room, slamming the door behind me.

What had just happened? Mom slaps me, and now she just sends me away? Really? The anger welled up inside me, and then it seemed like something broke inside me. I began breaking everything in sight. I smashed my vase, ripped my posters, and kicked my bed. I screamed and cried, but I did not care.

"How could she do this to me?" I yelled at the top of my voice. "How could she just slap me and not even apologize?"

My room was a mess, and I didn't even bother cleaning it up. I didn't care.

It seemed as if my whole world had come crumbling, and I didn't know what to do.

Just as I was about to break something else, I remembered I was supposed to meet up with Emily at the club downtown. So quickly, I wiped my tears and began freshening up: applied some makeup to cover up the redness of my face. I put some music on and started dancing just to get my mind off things.

I was working my way out the house and heard my mom's voice. She was on the phone, and she was giggling. I froze, and crept closer to her door to eavesdrop on her conversation.

"Oh, baby, I miss you so much," she cooed. "I wish you were here right now."

My heart sank, and she was speaking to that mystery lover of hers. A wave of rage swept over me.

"She doesn't even care about me," I thought to myself. "She would rather talk to him than apologize for hitting me."

I stood there and listened as my mom would further her conversation, getting more upset by the second. How could she do this to me? How could she just so easily not even care? I thought of how much I needed to get out, how much I needed to be away from her.

As I walked to the club, my head was full of my mother. I couldn't believe she had done this to me. I couldn't believe she would rather talk to her lover than come to apologize for hitting me.

"I hate her," I thought. "I hate her so much."

But by the time I actually reached the club and saw Emily waiting for me, I did try to shove those thoughts aside. I tried to enjoy myself and not think about Mom anymore, but it wasn't easy. The anger and hurt were still there, bubbling along just below the surface.

I stumbled over to where Emily and Jack were seated, my high heels clicking on the floor. Jack's face contorted into concern as he took in my appearance. "What's wrong, Sophia?" he asked, his voice low and soothing.

Emily was now whispering softly to him about my mom's sextape scandal and my parents' divorce. Jack's face fell, and Emily laid a warm, comforting hand on mine. "Don't worry, Soph. We'll get you drunk and forget all about it."

I nodded, my throat lumping. The hours after that went in a daze of drinks and screams while my body found itself swaying to the music.

The lights around flashed and swirled in colors that seemed to make my head spin. I laughed with Emily and joked with her while feeling my worries fly off my shoulder with each minute that passed by.

But suddenly, Emily was off and running out of the club like her life depended on it, hair flying behind her like a banner.

Jack took off after her, his broad shoulders disappearing into the crowd. "Hey, guard! Stay with Sophia, I'll be right back," he called out as he left.

I nodded, but I was too drunk to care. I stumbled out of the main area, my feet carrying me on a journey through the club. I wandered down a dark hallway lined with velvet curtains tugged open. I was looking for the bathroom, but instead, I found a room that seemed to pulse with its own rhythm.

Inside, the strippers were dancing on some raised platform or dais, dancing like snakes . The music played a driving, insistent beat that somehow caught into my heartbeat, which was already pretty slow sbd sensual. Mesmerized, I watched the spinning and twisting display before me, skins agleam with sweat and oil, maybe both.

But my gaze fell on the man in a seated position, back to the couch, watching strippers with an expression of utter boredom. He was a study in contrasts-chiseled features and a well-defined jawline with the lazy smile that played at the lips, the cigarette he smoked, its fumes curling themselves around him.

I tripped over some wires, and the music died, the sudden silence after it a slap in the face. He looked up, his eyes narrowing as he took in my disheveled appearance. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

I giggled, feeling reckless. "I didn't expect you to react," I said, my voice slurred. "I thought you were just a statue or something."

The man raisedan eyebrow, his face dry. "Why would you think that?" he asked with drizzling sarcasm.

I mocked him, my hand waving in drama. "Oh, I don't know, maybe because you have a room full of strippers dancing for you and you are not even sexually excited. What is wrong with you?" I asked, my eyes stuck down there.

The man's face didn't change, but there was a hint of mischief in his voice. "No one can excite me," he said, low. "They're just here to entertain me." He said, lifting my face up with his index finger.

I arched an eyebrow, feeling a challenge. "Oh, really? Well, I bet I can excite you."

His eyes met mine, and for a second, I thought I saw a flicker of interest. Then his face went to neutral, and he said, "I'm not interested in playing games with you little girl."

I just smiled, feeling confident. "We'll see about that," I said, my voice a purr.

I undressed, bit by bit, the cool air stroking my skin. The man's eyes followed my every movement, his expression unreadable.

"I bet," I said, my voice slurred, "that I can make you aroused. If I win, you have to do whatever I want. But if I lose.I'll do whatever you want."

His eyes locked on mine, and for a moment, we just stared at each other.

Then he nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Very well," he said. "Let's play."

Sophia's pov.I started dancing, swaying my hips. I was trying to get the man's attention, but he didn't even spare me a glance. I decided to take things to the next level. I walked up to him, locking my eyes on his, and started dancing on him.He looked surprised; his eyes were wide. But that didn't stop me. I was drunk. I was reckless. I took off his tie and tied his hands , a sly smile spreading across my face."Hey, what are you doing?" he said in this low husky voice."I'm getting started," I replied, no more than a whisper, my breath hot against his neck.I started dancing on him, my body sensual over his. I knew he was looking at me, but I never once looked up. I continued to dance, lost in the music and the moment. As I danced, I began to notice some changes in the man's lower body, a little movement, like his dick twitched in excitement . A surge of excitement ran through my body, and I stood up, arms raised for victory."I won!" I exclaimed, my voice loud and proud. "I m

Sophia's pov.I woke up to a pounding headache, my mouth dry, and my body feeling like it was put through wringer. I groggily opened my eyes, finding myself in my bed, but no clue came of how it got there. I sat up in one swift movement, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie down again. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. What happened last night? Who brought me home? Why is my room so organized, I left it a mess.Slowly, I got out of bed, my head spinning, and crawled to the door. Pulling myself up, I staggered into the hall in bare feet, my clothes all rumpled. Heading for the stairs, instead of going down, I went rolling down-my body weak and unable to support itself.Until, after finally reaching the bottom, there was a voice dripping with sarcasm: "Rolling, is that the new walking?"I saw Mom, holding her coffee cup with a raise of one eyebrow. I shrugged and said nothing at all, just gave my 'shame in my eye

Sophia's POVI stood as if carved from stone, paralyzed, as Alexander's gaze made its way toward me. My heart raced; blood rushing in my ears. Everything swam around him, with him smiling that self-satisfying, know-it-all smile."Sophia," he said, the voice smooth like silk. "It's so wonderful to finally meet you. Your mother has told me so much about you."I was finding it hard to breathe. I blinked rapidly, trying to gather myself, to awaken from this dreadful nightmare. This was no dream. It was real. Here stood this man, one whom I hated from the bottom of my heart for having shared a night with me, standing in front of me now in the light-hearted demeanor of someone who had never laid eyes on me. As if he'd forgotten all about the whole thing.Am I so easily forgettable?Or did he choose to forget? Well, if truth came up, he would lose a lot.I opened my mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. I wanted to yell, to scream, to have some explanation from him, but

Sophia's POVI watched as the sun dipped below the vast, sprawling mansion. The luxury that Alexander had would almost be incomprehensible. The garden was full of life , and some long trees, blooming flowers-almost too perfect to be real. I kept rubbing my temples trying to avoid the bitter resentment rising in my chest. There came a soft knock which the maid opened the door. "Miss Sophia, dinner is served."“Thank you.” I said with a smile, as the maid locked the door gently behind her.I picked a simple but comfy evening wear-neither too gaudy nor too plain to feel out of place in this opulent house. I walked down the grand staircase after a few minutes of preparation. When I entered the dining-room, I practically froze at the sight before me. There they were - Mom and Alexander - sitting side by side at the long table, so close that their shoulders touched, my mother had her hand resting on his, her eyes twinkling as she softly laughed at something he said. Sophia’s POV. "Sop-" mum called after me but I ran to my room, banging the door behind me, and collapsed on my bed. I picked up the phone and dialed Jack's number. I desperately needed someone who knew the real me.He picked up almost immediately after the first ring."Soph? Hey, what's up?" His voice warm and familiar and soothing as if somehow he was convincing me things can get normally. Almost."Jack... I-" the words choked back by the sobs. "I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore. I can't live in this life. I didn't choose this! It wasn't my decision! My mom just... she just narrowed down everything so fast. I can't escape it, and I don't know how I can."The words laced by hiccups broke apart with the tears due to frustration, sadness, and anger that have built after a long time."I miss you," I said, my voice barely a whisper. Sophia’s POV.My body was still racked with the after-haze of last night and could barely remember how I came into my room. But more than anything, I knew my head was throbbing, pounding against itself so much so that it might just kick excruciating pain to the deepest corner of my brain, where I would mentally note every regretful decision since picking up the phone and calling Jack.I lifted my hand to my forehead as if it would lessen the ache. Then my eyes wandered, and my heart almost leapt from its place into my mouth at the realization that I was not alone. Resignation showed in my voice more than curiosity. She managed a sad little smile that provoked a surge of pity witnesses in me. "I want you to be nice to Mira ... your father's girlfriend. Look, I know you haven't really been getting along, but she's important to him. And I don't want you to give him a hard time." Mother pleaded with me. I remained silent for a long moment, searching for the right words. But why should I sugarcoat sincerity? Sophia's POVI woke up early the next morning; my head was still pounding but not as violently as the day before.Even though the early sunlight barely shone through the curtains, that quietness felt oddly comforting. The last few days had weighed heavy in my chest, and pressure would build with every minute that passed. I had to do something to try and make it right, or at least salvage some piece. And the first thing I wanted to do was to thank Jack but also plead with him to keep our night stand a secret.I rubbed my eyes and very slowly sat up in bed. My body was sore, but I didn't mind. It was somehow a reminder that I had been doing something, living even though it was reckless. I walked into the bathroom, hoping that some quick bathing would clear my head, but deep down, I understood that I was just running away from the constantly gnawing feeling of shame just behind.
