Jaxson POV

“Do you hear that?” Kyle asked. The music was up and I was in my own head so I wasn’t fully paying attention. He had turned the music down.

Rolling the windows down, I heard it. “That is our imminent threat alert.” I said gravely as I put the gas to the floor.

“Scarlet?” I tried to reach her mind-link but I was still too far away. Looking around, I realized I didn’t bring my cell phone either as we left right away. “FUCK!” I yelled as I slammed my fist on the steering wheel.

As we got closer, the town looked like a ghost town. So at least the alarm was working. “Scarlet?” I tried again.

“Finally fucking time!” Scarlet was pissed. “Hurry up, I need you!”

“Are we under attack, what happened?”

“Just get here! No attack yet…here.” The threat alarm shut off as we pulled into the packhouse. There was a helicopter sitting in my front yard and to say I was confused would be an understatement.

    Jaxson POV“I’m here!” I yelled as I sprinted into the hospital. The glass shattered behind me but all I knew was that I needed to get to Scarlet. “GET IN HERE!” Scarlet yelled.     Scarlet POV “It’s too fucking hot outside to do any walking!” I was complaining to deaf ears as Jennifer pulled on my arm to get me to stand up. “The doctor said it would be good for you to walk around.
