Aurora’s POV

After weeks of resting and recovering, I finally felt like myself again. I wanted to start preparing for the baby, and there was no better way to do that than by going shopping for all the little things we would need. However, Dominic wasn’t thrilled with the idea of me going out.

"If you’re going out, you’re not going alone," he insisted.

And so, as I stepped out of the house, I was surrounded by Dominic’s bodyguards. They moved discreetly but stayed close enough that I could feel their protective presence. It was overwhelming, but I understood Dominic’s worry after everything that had happened.

When we arrived at the mall, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. Seeing the tiny clothes, toys, and accessories for the baby made everything feel real. I started browsing through racks of baby clothes, holding up tiny outfits and imagining our child in them.

The warmth of the moment was suddenly shattered when I heard a familiar voice behind me.

Aurora's POVThe doctor pulled out a syringe from his bag, his hands trembling slightly as he glanced at me. “This… this won’t take long,” he stammered, his voice lacking conviction.I shook my head, panic overtaking me. “No! Please, don’t do this!” I screamed, struggling against Eva’s grip.Joanna stood beside me with a satisfied smirk, arms crossed. “Quiet, Aurora. It’s about time you realized your place. Dominic will be mine, and your precious little baby will no longer be in the way.”The doctor hesitated, sweat beading on his forehead as he looked at Joanna. “Are you certain about this? If this goes wrong—”“Do it!” Joanna snapped, her voice laced with venom. “You’ve already been paid. I don’t care about your doubts. Get rid of that child now!”The doctor reluctantly stepped closer, raising the syringe toward me. My heart pounded in my chest, fear clawing at me. Joanne's POVThe phone rang sharply, piercing the silence of the room. I glanced at the screen, my irritation spiking when I saw Jackson’s name flashing. What now? I picked up the call, my voice low but sharp.“What is it?” I snapped, my patience already wearing thin.“Mama,” Jackson’s panicked voice came through, shaky and urgent, “there’s a problem. Julie... she’s escaped. We can’t find her anywhere.”I froze. The words hit me like a thunderclap, my heart skipping a beat before a cold wave of anger surged through me.“What do you mean she’s escaped?” I hissed, my grip tightening around the phone. “You were supposed to keep her locked up. How could you let this happen?”“We don’t know how she got out,” Jackson stammered, his voice trembling. “But we’ve searched everywhere, and she’s gone. Ma'am, she’s…”“Enough!” I barked, cutting him off. My mind raced as panic and fury intertwined. Julie out there, free... it could ruin everything. She knew too much.I took a deep breath, forcing my

Aurora's POVDominic had been tense all morning, his usual calm demeanor replaced by an edge of frustration. I knew he was still fuming about Isabella and the danger she’d brought into our lives. Though he tried to hide it, his protective nature always gave him away.It wasn’t long before his phone buzzed with a message. He glanced at it, his jaw tightening. “I have to step out for a while,” he said, his voice clipped. “But don’t worry, I’ll have my men stay close to you.”I nodded, watching as he left. I trusted him, but the weight of everything lingered in my chest. I couldn’t help but wonder if Isabella was planning her next move.Dominic’s POVThe moment I stepped out of the car, my eyes landed on Isabella. She was sitting outside a café, dressed in her usual designer attire, sipping on a coffee as if she didn’t have a care in the world. But what set my blood boiling was the man sitting next to her, Patrick.Patrick leaned back in his chair, a smug grin on his face, as if daring m

  • Deadly Affair with My Brother In-Law    Chapter 58: The Memories

Aurora's POVThe room was quiet, but my mind was anything but. Memories I’d buried long ago began to resurface, each one piercing my heart like shards of glass. I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the necklace in my trembling hand.It was a simple piece of jewelry, a small silver pendant shaped like a crescent moon, but it held the weight of my entire childhood. My mom had given it to me when I was just a little girl, her warm smile lighting up my world. “This will keep us connected, no matter what happens,” she’d said, her voice full of love and promise. But where was she now?The thought hit me like a tidal wave, and the tears I’d been holding back began to fall freely. I clutched the necklace tightly, the cool metal pressing into my palm as if it could somehow bring her back to me.I could still remember the day she disappeared. One moment, she was there—her laughter filling the house, her arms wrapped around me—and the next, she was gone. No explanations, no goodbyes. Just an

Aurora's POVMy heart was pounding as I continued searching through the box. As if the picture of that girl wasn’t enough to rattle me, something else caught my attention—a piece of paper folded neatly beneath the photos.I pulled it out, hesitating for a moment before unfolding it. My eyes scanned the page, and a chill ran down my spine. It was a list of names.Girls’ names, written in neat, deliberate handwriting. Some were crossed out, while others remained untouched. The sight of it sent a strange wave of unease washing over me.“What is this?” I murmured to myself, my voice barely above a whisper.I stared at the list, each name feeling like a piece of a puzzle I couldn’t put together. Why were they written down? What did they mean? My fingers trembled as I traced one of the names—Sophie. A name I didn’t recognize, but for some reason, it made my stomach twist uncomfortably.Fear crept into my chest like a shadow.“Who are these girls?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “And why a

Aurora's POVI took a deep breath, trying to steady my shaking hands as I closed the box. My thoughts were still swirling with everything I’d found—everything I’d remembered. But as I lifted the box to put it back in its place, something soft and silky brushed against my fingers.Curious, I opened the box again and found a folded nightgown tucked neatly beneath the items. It was delicate, made of black silk with intricate lacework along the neckline. My brows furrowed as I pulled it out, holding it up to examine it.This… wasn’t mine. The thought hit me like a slap. My mind instantly raced to the possibilities—who did this belong to? Was it one of his lovers? Was this from a past relationship? The thought of Dominic sharing intimate moments with someone else stirred a mix of jealousy and unease within me.I ran my fingers over the smooth fabric, my heart pounding. “Why is this here?” I whispered, my voice trembling. But then, an idea sparked in my mind. • Deadly Affair with My Brother In-Law    Chapter 61 : About the night gown

Aurora's POVDominic sat quietly at the edge of the bed, his gaze fixed on me as I lay peacefully asleep. The soft fabric of the nightgown clung to my figure, and as much as he tried to focus on the effort I had put into his birthday surprise, his thoughts kept drifting back to one thing—the nightgown. His jaw clenched, and his brows furrowed. How did she find it? That particular nightgown wasn’t just any piece of clothing—it was something he had intentionally hidden away, tucked far from prying eyes. It wasn’t meant to resurface, let alone be worn by me.Dominic rubbed a hand over his face, frustration and unease building in his chest. Did she go through my things? Did she open the box? He had kept it buried for a reason, a memory he hadn’t been ready to confront. And now, seeing me wearing it brought back flashes of a past he had tried so hard to suppress. He glanced at me again, watching the soft rise and fall of my chest as I slept, completely unaware of the storm brewing inside h

Aurora's POVDominic’s gaze lingered on me, his dark eyes heavy with a storm of emotions I couldn’t decipher. He let out a slow breath, his hands resting on his hips as if trying to steady himself."Why did you wear that gown, Aurora?" he finally asked, his voice low but carrying an edge of intensity.I shifted uncomfortably under his scrutinizing gaze. “I…I found it in the box,” I said softly, my hands nervously twisting the fabric at my sides. “I wanted to surprise you for your birthday. I thought…it might make you happy.”His expression flickered, something like guilt shadowing his features. “Happy,” he murmured, almost to himself, and then shook his head as if trying to dispel whatever thoughts were haunting him.I leaned forward, my voice gentler now. “Dominic…can you tell me more about this gown? What does it mean to you? Why does it feel like it carries so much…weight?”His jaw tightened, and for a moment, I thought he wasn’t going to answer. But then he exhaled deeply and turn

The house smelled of dampness and old cigarette smoke. As soon as we stepped inside, I saw her.She was sitting in a chair, her hands tied, her face pale but alert. The moment our eyes met, she froze.I could see the relief in her eyes, but also the fear. If she reacted, Patrick would notice. I quickly lifted a finger to my lips, signaling her to stay calm.Aurora’s lips pressed together, and she barely nodded. She understood.Patrick was standing a few feet away, his back turned as he spoke to Isabella."This is taking too long," Isabella snapped. "Joanna should be here by now!"Patrick sighed. "She’ll come. Dominic’s POVI stared at the flash drive in my hand, my grip tightening. How could I be sure this was the real evidence? Patrick was a snake, I wouldn’t put it past him to hand me something useless just to trap me."How do I know this is real?" I asked, my voice low and dangerous.Patrick smirked, his confidence irritating me. "You don’t. But do you really have a choice, Dominic?"Before I could say another word, a weak but urgent voice cut through the tension."Dominic, don’t trust him!"My entire body froze. My eyes snapped to Aurora, who was still tied to the chair. Her lips were dry, and her eyes were filled with desperation.Patrick cursed under his breath, moving toward her, but I lifted my gun, stopping him in his tracks."What did you just say?" I asked Aurora.Patrick clenched his jaw and glared at her, but the moment he released the cloth gagging her mouth, Aurora gasped for air and spoke again, this time stronger."Dominic, that’s not the real flash drive! You stole my inheritance, destroyed our family, and left me with nothing! You kept me away from Aurora, my own daughter, for years! And now you want to take her child too?” She shook her head furiously. “I will never let you have my grandchild!”I sighed, tilting my head. “You always did have a way of making yourself the victim, didn’t you?”Julie’s face twisted with anger. “You are the reason for everything! You lied, manipulated, and ruined my life. You wanted me gone, and you got what you wanted. But I won’t let you win this time. My mind was racing, my chest tight with fear.Aurora’s signal had led me here, to Patrick’s old office building, not to the address he had given me.I knew Patrick. He was a snake. A master of deception. He wanted me to go to the wrong place while he did whatever sick thing he had planned. The tracking device on Aurora’s phone had been steady for the past few minutes, but then…“Sir, the tracking has stopped.”My heart slammed against my ribs.“What?” I barked, gripping the wheel tighter.“The signal just cut off. It’s gone.”Damn it.I clenched my jaw, forcing myself to stay calm. This wasn’t a coincidence. Patrick was covering his tracks. He must have found out Aurora had a tracker.I inhaled sharply, pushing down the wave of panic rising inside me.I couldn't afford to lose focus now."We’re still going to that building."
