I sat in my seat as we continued the drive to the castle. So much has happened tonight, some good, some bad. I looked over to Connor, who was staring out the window, I cleared my throat, and he turned to me, “Did you mean what you told Neil and my Father?” He grasped my hands and smiled lightly,

“No.” He said plainly, “You, Nuray, will be equal to me. You won’t have to ever be afraid of me, I can promise you that. I will never hurt you, not intentionally.” I smiled a little and nodded, “And I meant what I told you as well.”

“Hmm?”

“We can take this slow.” He told me, “I don’t want to push you into something you’re not ready for.” I nodded,

“Thank you,” I told him, followed by a yawn; I didn’t realize how tired I was. Connor chuckled a bit and took off his jacket, covering me up with it,

“Come here,” he said softly; I scooted closer and laid my head against his chest, “get some sleep; we’ll be there in a little while.” I sighed as I got comfortable, and soon, I fell asleep.

I felt Connor stir me awake as the car came to a stop. I raised up and stretched my arms out, rubbing my eyes to get the sleep out of them. “Welcome home, Nuray,” Connor told me as the door opened to reveal the grand castle, which made my mouth drop. Connor helped me out of the car and walked me up the stairs to the door; many servants bowed to us,

“Your majesty,” an older gentleman came up to us, “the doctor is in her room as you requested.” Connor smiled,

“Thank you, Brandon.” Connor then turned to me, “I want you to get checked out by the doctor; I want to know that you’re not hurt too badly. Is that okay?” I bit my lip a little but nodded; Connor led me up the stairs with Brandon leading the way. Brandon opened the door when we got to the room while Connor led me in. There was a young woman in there who wore a smile,

“Good morning, your majesty.” She said, then she looked at me, “Hello.” She said sweetly; I hid behind Connor, unsure of this new person. My reaction worried her, but she remained where she was as she turned her attention back to Connor, “You believe she was abused?” Connor nodded,

“Yes,” Connor turned to me, “will you show her?” I was hesitant but nodded, “It’s okay, I’ll be right here.” I turned around and lifted my shirt enough for her to see; when she saw, she gasped. “Please, can you just make sure she’s not hurt too bad? I want to get her as much help as she needs.” Connor told the doctor,

“Yes, I will run every test I need to.” She told him. Connor nodded then turned to me,

“Do you want me to stay?” Part of me did, but part of me didn’t; I looked to the doctor and asked,

“Will I need to strip?” She nodded,

“Long enough to change into a gown and while I do a full workup.” I nodded then turned back to Connor,

“You can stay for now.” He nodded then took a seat in the chair next to the bed. The doctor handed me a gown,

“The restroom is just over there; you can change there if you’d like.” I nodded but decided to just strip here. I didn’t even notice when Brandon left until I looked to see if he was still here. I took off my top and my pants, and then I heard a low growl come from behind me that made me jolt. The doctor came up to me and turned me around to see what Connor reacted to; she pressed her fingers against it lightly, but even the slight touch made me flinch. “Please, finish getting dressed, and we will begin the exam.” I nodded and continued to get undressed. I carefully took off my underwear and then slipped the gown around me and tied the front.

After the initial exam, the doctor turned to me, “I need to do a pap. Do you want him to stay for that?” I looked over to Connor, he smiled,

“I’ll wait outside. It’s okay.” I smiled and nodded. The moment he left the room, I turned to the doctor.

“Okay, Let’s do this,” I said, then she got started. After fifteen minutes, she said I could sit up, and she turned and wrote something on a clipboard before turning back to me.

“How are you mentally?” She asked; I gave a questioning look, she sighed, “Let me rephrase, how did you feel back home before you came here?” I looked away and sighed; the doctor placed a hand on my knee, “You can talk to me. You’re safe now.” I nodded and took in a breath,

“I wanted to die….” I said a tear rolled down my face as I said this. She nodded,

“And now?” I shrugged; I haven’t been here long at all,

“Scared,” I told her; she wrote something else down,

“Why are you scared?” I shrugged, she went to grab my arm, but I moved away. She sighed and continued to write on the clipboard. “Okay, I’m going to talk to the king, okay?” I nodded, “You can get dressed.” She told me as she made her way to the door and closed it. When it was closed, I got up and hurried to the bathroom to get dressed. I looked in the mirror; I looked like hell.

I was putting on my top when there was a knock on the door, “Nuray, it’s me.” I heard Connor say, “Are you okay?” I opened the door and smiled,

“Yes.” He reached for my hand,

“Come on, the doctor wants to speak to both of us.” I hesitated for a moment but took his hand as he led me back into the room. We sat on the couch while the doctor sat in the chair opposite us.

“So, I am going to prescribe some anti-depressants, don’t take them every day, just when you think you need to, okay?” I nodded, “And I want to do checkups every, let’s say, two to three weeks, just to make sure the medication is working and to see if you’re healing properly.” She turned to Connor, “No sexual activity for about a month, and even then, I want her to be off of the antidepressants before she makes such a big leap.”

“Of course, I’ve already promised that we’d take things slow.” The doctor nodded,

“Alright, I think that is everything.” She said as she pulled out her phone, “I’m going to schedule a follow-up appointment for three weeks from today at ten.” I nodded,

“Thank you, doctor.” Connor told her as she began to pack up; he then turned to me, “Would you like to rest?” I nodded, he smiled, “Alright, I’ll let you get changed; I’ll be right back.” He got up and walked the doctor out. I went over to my bag and pulled out some shorts and an oversized t-shirt and slipped into them before crawling into the bed; I sighed softly. I actually felt safe, at least a little bit. Maybe this will be the best decision I could have made, I thought as I let sleep take me into its dark depths…

I opened my eyes, but it was dark; something was covering my eyes. I tried to move, but I was bound; a diabolical laugh heightened my senses. Cool air blew against my bare skin as someone ran their fingers along my body. “Who’s there?” I called; I was getting nervous and began pulling at the restraints, but they only seemed to get tighter. My breathing quickened but then,

“Hush, now, darling.” The familiar voice said; he got close to my ear and whispered, “I want to hear you scream.” The moment I realized who it was, I fought harder than ever to break free with no success. Tears began pouring down my face, “Awe, is someone wanting to save themself for their mate?” He taunted me, I continued to fight, but the restraints were only getting tighter, tight enough to leave marks. He then spat in my face and gripped my hair, pulling my face closer to his. “No one is ever going to want a mut as a mate, let alone a ruined mate. And I’ll make sure of that; from now on, you’re going to be mine. Now,” he paused, moving closer to my ear, “you’re nothing but a little slut.” I cried and screamed for help, but no one came; either they couldn’t hear me, or they didn’t care. My legs were spread and tightened more to keep them in place within another second before he slammed himself into me. I cried and fought; I felt like I was going to die. I wanted to die…

Someone held me, but I fought back, screaming; I opened my tear-filled eyes to see a blurry figure, then the person spoke, “Nuray, it’s okay. I’m here.” I heard Connor say, I stopped fighting; he held my wrists as I let the tears pour down my face. He let go of my wrists and pulled me closer to him, and held me as I cried. Connor didn’t say a word; he sat there, just holding me tight to reassure me. He held me like that for the rest of the night…
