Sophia does not understand what was happening right now nor why was it happening.

She was just about to leave her house and head to the city’s library to finish her requirements when she was suddenly cornered by someone who introduced himself as a lawyer. She had no choice but to let him in for the conversation he was asking for. She was so confused and practically stunned that all she understood from him was that she was about to lose her house.

For the first time in years, she wanted to break down. She was having an anxiety attack from everything that was happening too fast. She wanted to ugly cry every emotion she has out of her system, but she found herself unable to shed even a single tear. She simply cannot feel her entire body as if she went numb.

“Now that everything is clear, Miss Diwa, you have a month to take your things out of this apartment. My client also advised that you also hire a cleaner to disinfect the place. Have a nice day.”

Her body started shaking that she

“I know people who can recommend us to some legit lawyers, but I know already that they will cost a lot. We can try some public ones but I don’t think that that is very advisable right now. What if they rig the system and bribe whoever public lawyer we get?” Sophia cannot stop herself from biting her finger. She did not mean to tell anyone about her problem, but nothing can really get past Jaylene. She hoped and prayed that she would not notice anything, but the woman was too sharp for her own. The moment she got to work, she already knew that something was off about her. She did try her best to change the subject, but her friend was someone she cannot really win against. The way she worries for her made her tell her everything. She did not want to stress her too. Everything happened just this morning and she told Jelly all about it, and after letting it all out, she felt better as it lessened all her burden at once. "Good thing today's a Saturday. Breathing deeply, Sophia said the nth “thank you” to Miss Minchin which already made the sweet librarian laugh, and told her that one more “thank you” and she will be banned from entering the library for the rest of her stay in the university. That just finally made her laugh too. It took her a hot moment to sink everything in her and to understand that she was already having a mental breakdown. If it were not for Miss Minchin, she does not know if she would have calmed down. The kind librarian was ever patient with her, and now they are outside the university getting some ice cream. She thought about attending her classes, and she was supposed to insist on it, but Miss Minchin highly disagreed with her and made sure she was not to return to their department building. She was advised to take it easy today, and the sudden emergency university-wide faculty meeting that was called made it easier for her to actually leave the university. She does not know what it was for, but she did not

“Stop acting like a child, Navier! This is not playtime where you can simply do what you want! We’re talking life here and you just had to fucking ruin one—again! Is this what your so-called ‘love’ is? Is this really your way of saying you love me?! It’s so sad that you come from a loving family and you don’t know how to show love! God, Navier, you don’t even know what romance is and you expect me to just accept what you can give?!” Navier sighed, he really had to recall that again. He and Angela fought once again and just like the other times, he was the one sighing in defeat because he just caused trouble again. Instead of trashing his office like he always wanted to do, he took a sip of his coffee and massaged his temples. Yes, he just ruined another man’s life and even that was not a big deal to him, it was for Angela. Angela was the woman he loves and this was not exactly the first time he ever tried to "show her his life". He cannot even remember when the first one happened,

How many books, novels, and short stories has Sophia encountered with this very trope of fake relationships? The answer: she cannot even remember anymore. From girlfriends for hire to even being proxy fiancées, she read it all for sure! But having it happen to her? Her brain was starting to malfunction trying to absorb that information. Dating someone you barely know was off on its own but do not all relationships start from scratch? There were a lot of things to say about this setup, but all she was sure of was that she never liked the endings of these kinds of stories. Yet, they are not in any novel or any story, this is reality. This is their reality. If she was offered a million dollars to believe that this would happen to her in any part of her lifetime, she would have just laughed at whoever offered her the money. “C-Can I know first what this fake relationship is for, sir?” Navier chuckled and shook his head. “Navier. I thought you agreed and understood to address me as Navi

He is just basically stating facts yet even she felt like they have known each other for so long. The only lie that Navier made is that he mentioned that they met a year ago, but the rest is pure facts and their actual reality. He told them how they met at her workplace; she was a hostess in the Soul’s Secret and how she took care of him when he was drunk. Today is a Sunday which means day-off for Sophia. She already finished all the things she needed to accomplish with her class requirements. She still does not know who that woman is, but she is still on the verge of losing her home because of whoever she is.Her salary from working at the Soul’s Secret is what shoulders her daily expenses; and just by computing how much it would cost for her to have her own private lawyer, she will need to cut down at least three-fourth of what she will have this month. That is almost equivalent to having a single meal every day plus all her transportation fees. She forbids herself to take anything from her medical emergency fund because she can never be sure of her health. She does not want to die early without properly helping her loved ones. She only has less than three weeks to have her solution ready. In

Going home is not an option because she cannot prolong this anymore. They are not banned from having relationships as long as it does not affect their work here in the club. Other personal problems cannot also be brought into their workplace and it definitely includes school work and being depressed for something that has to do with one’s relationship problems. Work is work and you have to be the hostess mode of yourself outside your personal being. You are a hostess of the club and not whoever you are outside the club.Relationships with the clients of the club are different issues to tackle and that is exactly why she is here. Even though there are no formal nor written rules about the hostesses being involved with anyone&mdash

“Did you know about this?” Nicole did not mean to use her business voice, but she already did. Clearing her throat, she hopes she will not sound as brute as she did the first time. “Did you know about Navier and Miss Sophia Diwa?”Sage chuckles, clearly having the that-is-what-I-thought look when she corrected her own tone. “What exactly did you find out about them?”She lets herself inside his home—yes, she drove almost thirty minutes just to invade this man’s privacy and trespass his penthouse like the thug she is just to confirm what she found out. It is also a yes that she trusts her brother in telling the truth, but she still needs assurance and confirmation; especially from this very man. She immediately made herself comfortable on his soft sofa and sighed in satisfaction. She has done this a million times now that it feels more like a muscle memory. She did not know that her feet hurt from driving unt

Navier is feeling very good that all his research did a great job with his and Sophia’s first date. Yes, he really did a lot of research because he does not want to mess their first day. He was thinking that it would be a great move for him to actually know things on his own first and then have Sophia experience it with him. It was very fulfilling to him to say the least. He never really pictured himself enjoying meeting new people; in fact, he hated meeting other people before and that was his main reason for just letting his sister Nicole do all the outside of the country work and meetings. But today was a little different given that he met Sophia’s family. That was the first thing that popped up as results to his research. Dating someone does not necessarily mean that they would just involve the couple. Some article said that it would be better to “date officially” and by official it really means having your loved ones to know t

CHAPTER 55: END OF BOOK 1SOPHIA’S POVLast night was one of the best sleeps I had and I know that it had something to do with Navier. Yes, Navier slept beside me because I insisted that it was too late for him to drive back home. He could easily call his driver to fetch him and I know he can perfectly do just that, but I am really glad that he did not. He stayed in and wore one of the largest shirts that I had so he could change.I remembered that we slept in the position where he was pillowed on my chest and as he hugged me as if making sure I would not leave, but I woke up in the opposite position because I was the one who was in his position and he was in mine.Leaving his side as I make sure that he would not wake up brings me back the memories that I had as our first moment together. The moment he got drunk at the club where I was working and that I had to stay by his side to somehow take

Sophia is back in the kitchen preparing our coffee and as soon as comes back, I know that I will execute my evil plan—I plan to seduce her.I can easily ask her and have her consent, but I am not sure if she wants it herself. I do not want to pressure her into doing something I only asked. This is the best thing I can think of to ensure that she would want to do something with me too.Good thing for the both of us, I am great at alluring people.
