Chapter 1: IN SHOCK

Looking at her reflection in the rearview mirror, Chelsea smoothed out the curls around her face. She had a smug expression on her face and she seemed really tired. Her phone vibrated on the car seat beside her, and she rolled her eyes.

It was Mr Alvin and of course he wanted everything prim and proper.

Just as she was about to get out of the car,a voice coming from behind her suddenly shocked her. "Chelsea!" - There is no time to talk. Mr. Alvin awaits, besides he has been calling and you didn't bother to pick up.”

She glanced upwards and saw Vivian, her colleague, eagerly motioning for her to come over. Standing by the entrance, she appeared frazzled as always, holding her tablet.

"I need to get my bag from the other side,I'll be right with you." she hastily informed . " running around towards the other side of the car to get her bag.

She hurried towards Vivian, who was already talking rapidly, after getting out of her car. "We are running late, and Mr. Alvin is in a bad temper." He's been continuously examining the plans. We must complete the table arrangement and ensure the dessert station is prepared. The visitors are expected to arrive very soon.

"She reassured her, attempting to calm her nerves despite her own starting to unravel." "We have this under control."

They quickly made their way through the large double doors and stepped into the impressive hall. Chelsea was amazed by the decorations, which were all gold and white, with big floral arrangements on each table, causing her eyes to widen. Everything was luxurious, yet another thing immediately grabbed her focus. A large banner adorned the front of the hall, shining letters displaying the names of the couple: Adams Hemsworth and Sandra Heathens.

She felt a sudden flutter in her chest. She stood still, gazing at the banner in disbelief. Adams Hemsworth? The same Adams Hemsworth that she knew?

She shook her head and made her way further into the hall, she must have mistaken the name for her boyfriend but she felt so sure he wouldn't do something terrible to her. she took a deep breath and let it all out.

She went about all her activities, trying not to think too much of the name but It was impossible. She felt her heart rate increase as she anxiously looked around the room for solutions. Could this have been a mistake of some sort?

Her eyes found the huge ceiling to floor banner wish house the picture of both couple, Sandra and Adams.

Prior to her being able to comprehend anything else, Mr. Alvin advanced towards them, his face tense with anxiety. "Hey Chelsea, Great to see you've arrived. We're running out of time, but it's crucial for you and Vivian to concentrate on the finishing details. And please, remain alert for God's sake. This is not just an ordinary event, it is the wedding of Adams Hemsworth and Sandra Heathens.

She felt parched in my mouth. " Hemsworth Adams?" "Is he the groom?"

Mr. Alvin briefly looked in her direction while nodding, but his focus had already shifted elsewhere. "Indeed, they are currently at the church for the ceremony." Everything must be perfect before their return.

Adams' words hit her with the force of a truck. Getting hitched. To Sandra Heathens, of all individuals—the dazzling actress she had only witnessed on television. And there she stood, in the center of the hallway meant to commemorate the occasion of their marriage.

All of a sudden, everything began to fall into place - Adams' unexpected work trip, his recent absentmindedness and emotional distance. She believed he was under work-related pressure. He deceived her. He was tying the knot!

"Chelsea?" - "Chelsea?" Mr. Alvin's abrupt manner brought her back to the present moment. "Are you okay?" It is imperative that we relocate.

She nodded without feeling, her body working automatically as she assisted Vivian with the final details. She struggled to understand everything, her thoughts moving quickly. How could she not have seen that coming?

Soon, she heard the noise of vehicles arriving outside. They had returned. As she faced the entrance, her stomach twisted in discomfort.

The large wooden doors swung open, revealing Adams and Sandra emerging from a stylish black vehicle. Sandra appeared stunning in her well-fitted gown, exuding the glamor of a well-known celebrity.

Sandra had a curve one could kill for,her eyes shone brightly and her dress fitted perfectly. Chelsea looked at the worn out jean she wore, the faded oversized T-shirt and the most hilarious sneakers in the market.

she shook her head and closed her eyes, this is what he wanted,a lady like Sandra and not her.

Adams... God, he appeared unchanged as ever—handsome, assured, the man she had adored for ages.

She stood still, watching as they passed by her. Her heart raced in her chest, hoping he would glance at her, notice her, and recognize the situation.

However, Adams ignored her completely and continued walking past, with his hand lightly touching Sandra's waist.

Not even a twitch from him. Did not rotate his head.

She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm as they walked into the hall. What did she think would happen? Would he come to her and explain that everything was just a misunderstanding? she meant nothing to him at that moment.

"Chelsea, we have to bring out the appetizers," Vivian quietly uttered, giving her a slight push. "Let's go.”

She nodded rigidly, grabbed the tray, and went inside behind her. The event was already bustling with activity, attendees conversing and laughing, oblivious to the turmoil brewing within me.

She was still struggling to stay composed, concentrating on her job as Vivian passed me another tray. "You must attend to the couple."

She felt a sinking feeling in her chest. "Are Adams and Sandra here?"

"Sure, it's your go," she replied, offering her a compassionate expression.

Trembling, she carried the tray to their table. Sandra leaned in close to Adams and whispered something that caused him to laugh. She felt her throat constricting as she got closer.

"What are you doing here?" Adams asked in a low tone so only she could hear. "I'm doing my job,I work with__"

"You may leave now." Came Sandra's voice.

"Sorry," she whispered, her voice barely heard as I placed their beverages on the table.

Right when she was going to move back, she sensed a movement beneath her. Sandra's leg extended in front of her on purpose, causing her to trip and drop the tray before she could do anything. She tumbled to the ground with a noisy bang, the glasses shattering near her.

The music came to a halt. Conversations fell silent. Everyone was looking at her.

Lying on the ground, feeling embarrassed and defeated, she watched Sandra smirking from her chair.

"Goodness me, so clumsy," she exclaimed, her tone filled with feigned worry.

Adams remained silent. He didn’t even make eye contact with Chelsea.

Her eyes filled with tears as she quickly got up, feeling the heat of embarrassment on her face. At that point, it dawned on her that she held no significance to him.

Shawn, his right-hand man, was close behind, his expression stoic as he matched Liam’s pace. Two security guards trailed them, carrying a black box, which they placed on the glass-top table in front of Liam.Liam gestured toward the box without a word, his face hard as granite. "Open it. He suddenly froze, shock flashing across his usually composed features. He looked back up at Liam, his mouth opening as if to speak but nothing coming out.Liam raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Shawn’s reaction. "Well? Out with it."Shawn swallowed, his voice tense. Reese, who had been staring at her computer screen in deep thought, glanced up and reached for the documents.“I did a deep search for the name Gerald Hudson,” Kim began. “But I found nothing. No records, no background, nothing that could link him to any existing family. The only thing that came close was a Hudson family that used to live in France.”Reese frowned as she skimmed through the documents. “Hudson family?”Kim nodded. “Yeah, but their only son supposedly died in a car accident twenty years ago.”Reese’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately dropped the papers and looked at Kim with a sharp intensity. “The Hudsons… I know that family. They were friends with my parents.”Kim blinked in surprise. “You do?”“Yes,” Reese said firmly. “I even knew their son—the one who supposedly died. His name was Jeremy. You need to rest.”Aria’s eyes burned with anger. “I don’t have time to rest, Dad. If I don’t act fast, Chelsea will take Liam away from me, and I can’t let that happen.”Charles sighed. “Liam is still around, isn’t he? He’s been checking up on you.”She scoffed. “That means nothing.
