#Chapter100I rolled over and tried sitting up. I fell back down when my chest felt like it was caving in. I grunted and rolled back over onto my back. I rubbed my eyes and cursed out loud when I felt the wound on my face. I cringed and fluttered my eyes open as much as I could with only one good eye. My arms and legs were throbbing, I lifted my arm and held it close to my face. There were claw marks all over my arms and I'm guessing the same on my legs. I looking around, trying to figure out where I was. "Are you ok?" A voice asked. I pulled myself up, holding my chest. "Wh-Whose there?" I choked out. A light flickered on and off before staying on. I blinked until I could see better, "Caleb?" The voice asked again. I sighed and tried standing up. "You won't be able to stand just yet." The voice spoke again. "Who are you?" I asked. My mind was foggy, I recognised the voice but couldn't put a name to it. I heard the sound of a door opening then shuffling. A silhouette figure appear
#Chapter101I walked and walked until I physically couldn't. My chest was on fire, my face was throbbing and my arms and legs were stinging. I sat on a tree trunk to catch my breath and give everything a rest. If I'm heading in the direction I think I am there's a service station a mile or so away, I should be able to jump on a truck or wagon or something. They travel between cities so hopefully, they will be one going to Devon.I stood up, bracing myself for more walking. I continued my hike towards the service station, replaying the events of the last 24 hours over in my head. Nothing makes sense, I've stopped asking why I haven't got a wolf... The biggest question in my head now is, what the fuck happened to Carson? How can someone change so fast? As much as I say he's not my brother anymore, he's always going to be. He may have cut the bond between us but it doesn't stop you from caring as much as you want it to.I blew out a breath when I spotted the huge neon sign for the serv
#Chapter102I headed towards the little cafe. I pushed open the door and was hit with the smell of wolves. I made my way to the counter and a little woman smiled sweetly at me before wrinkling her nose and raising her brow at me. "You're not from around here are you, young lad?" She asked, her voice held no conviction she sounded generally curious. I shook my head and smiled. I was almost positive she could see the wound over my eye there was no doubt she could smell the blood."I'm looking for a place." She interrupted me by handing me a menu and pointing at a table. "Go sit, have some food on us then continue your journey." She smiled at me. I nodded and went over to the table. I glanced at the menu and tried to pick the cheapest thing I could. She came over 5 minutes later and placed a hot chocolate in front of me. "I'm Maria, what's your name?" She asked as she sat opposite me. "Caleb," I replied, "Thank you for the drink," I added, holding my hands around the heat. She nodded a
#Chapter103Gerald cleaned my wounds the best he could but he couldn't do much as they needed stitching and dressing properly as they kept bleeding. "Thank you both so much for what you have done for me." I beamed. "It's not a problem, Caleb," Maria replied. "Don't forget to get Luna Amaris to let me know when you arrive there safely." She added. I nodded and smiled at them both. "So I go south to get to The Luna Pack?" I asked, glancing at the map in my hands. They both looked at each other before looking back at me. "Don't go to The Luna Pack, the Alpha is um, how do I put this?" Gerald looked at Maria for help. She sighed and stepped in front of me, "Caleb, you won't find the help you need there. Follow the route on the map it will take you straight to The Dark Wolf Pack." She explained. My eyes went wide and she smiled at me sweetly. "Alpha Rhydian and Luna Amaris are really nice. I've known Amaris for years." She gushed. "I promise you, you will be safe there," Gerald added. I
#Chapter104I must be seeing things... That's it, I'm tired, it's dark and I'm obviously hallucinating. I screwed my eyes shut and took a deep breath. When I open my eyes the wolf is either going to be gone or a different colour. I opened my eyes gradually and gaped at the wolf. He was still a Dark Wolf. Oh, Goddess, this is where I die! Suddenly another huge wolf jumped on top of the Dark Wolf and a woman kneeled in front of me. I recoiled and pushed myself further into the tree, "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you," She whispered, holding her hands out in front of her. I glanced between them all, the wolves had shifted and in their place stood two men. The taller one of the two had black hair that was messy on top of his head, he was staring at me with weary eyes. The other man had red curls pulled into a small ponytail at the back of his head, he looked exactly like the woman in front of me. My eyes trailed over their bodies and I gasped when I realised they were both still fully c
#Chapter105They brought me to the pack hospital. They ushered me inside, I tried ignoring the sideways glances and whispers from the pack members as they watched Alpha Rhydian and Amaris leading a stranger through their home. "Wait here, I'll be back in a minute." Alpha Rhydian stated before he disappeared around a corner. Amaris took a seat on one of the chairs and motioned for me to do the same. I slowly sat down, careful not to hurt my ribs even more. Now the adrenaline had faded, everything was hurting again. "Is there something wrong with your chest?" She asked, looking at me. I sighed and nodded, "I think my ribs are broken." I whispered. She gasped and shook her head. "Did all of this happen at your pack?" She asked. I nodded and looking around the corridor. Alpha Rhydian stepped around the corner, followed by an older man and a woman. "Caleb, this is Doctor Reeves and Nurse Thorne." He announced, pointing to each of them. I smiled and nodded. "They're going to look at you
#Chapter106"Caleb, open your eyes."I fluttered open my eyes and glanced around me. I was back in the white room. "Why am I here again?" I asked, looking around trying to find her. "Because, my boy, you are lost." She replied. I frowned and stood up. "What do you mean, lost?" I quizzed. I stared at the spot she came to last time but nothing was there. "You need to wake up." She replied again. I turned around and she was stood beside a tree, I don't remember seeing a tree in here before..."What is this place?" I questioned. She stepped closer towards me and my breath caught in my throat. She was beautiful. "This place exists because I need you to hear me." She replied. I shook my head and sighed. "You aren't making sense," I mumbled. "You need to wake up." She smiled at me. I tried going towards her but like before she seemed to move further away."I am awake. I'm talking to you." I chuckled. She shook her head and smiled at me, "You are unconscious right now, you can only talk to
#Chapter107I can't wait to get out of here. I've been stuck in this hospital for a week, Amaris comes by every day to see me. She sits and talks with me for a few hours then leaves. She's like a mother figure I never had, she's so different to my mum. Rhydian comes every other day or he'll pop his head around the door randomly throughout the day. He tells me every time that it's just Rhydian, not Alpha. I find it hard calling him anything but Alpha. When I was younger we had it drummed into us that we call Alphas by their titles. I haven't seen or spoken to the Moon Goddess again and I'm confused. I want answers to why she comes to me and why I wasn't granted a wolf, I don't understand what I've done wrong to not have that blessing. She said on our first meeting that all will be revealed, when? How long do I have to wait? I'm still just a pup, I want an easy life. Not whatever this is right now.Amaris brought her son, Dominic with her the other day and he's been back every day si
