She hadn’t expected to feel this awful. She’d taken the first pill orally in the clinic and then they’d inserted a different medication vaginally an hour after. She thought she’d be swallowing both pills, but the nurse said it was faster and more efficient this way. Then they’d sent her on her merry way nearly six hours ago.

Now she was experiencing cramps which felt very much like the worst period she’d ever experienced. Nek was quietly watching the television laying on the other bed in the room, his eyes frequently flitting to her with concern but not saying anything.

She rolled to her side pulling her knees to her abdomen, a small painful moan erupting past her lips.

“Are you okay?” Nek’s concerned voice floated over the space between their beds.

“I’m fine. Feels like bad menstrual cramps.” She stared at a dot on the wall, “Mom is going to be furious with me.”

“It’s not her place.”

A knock on the door had them locking gazes before Nek kicked off the bed and moved to the door. He lo

She decided he would likely chop her hand off for merely touching him. She’d never once entertained the notion of a bad boy before Ercole. When Ercole ripped her from her parents’ home, she wouldn’t have watched an R rated movie and certainly not ever considered a man with long hair and a wicked glint in his eye, especially one twice her age, to be attractive. Yet here she was, once again at odds with her brain and her body. She didn’t look away from the anger in his eyes, proud if anything Ercole gave her a spine as part of his legacy. He frowned at her before sighing loudly, “what’s done is done. We have more pressing matters to discuss.”“Such as.”“Rapallino.”“Again, they have nothing to do with me.”“I disagree. Nek came back into the room and wrapped her in his arms as she knelt next to the bin.“Holy shit he’s intense.” Nek whispered into her hair. “He told me to make sure you were taken care of, or he’d bury me neck deep in a pig farm and let his hungry swine devour my face. I thought he wanted you dead, but he seemed to care.”She giggled in spite of the situation, “Nek, I swear, the man who just left the room makes Ercole look like Mother Theresa. Mom fucked up.”“How?”“Furio Matrone is watching the restaurant and knew about the baby. He gave me some line about asking for a combination, but I know he was here because of the baby. He’s pissed I underwent the abortion.”“Why?”“I don’t know,” she lied to Nek. She wasn’t stupid enough to think this room wasn’t bugged now she knew he was watching her. There was no way in hell she was revealing Matrone and Muraro were related biologically. Not wanting to drag him deeper in she sighed, “all I know is, thanks to Mom blurting it out in front o

Arriving back home the following day, Delfina was a bundle of nerves. She hoped her mother was at work but decided she was still being punished for her sins as the woman pulled the front door open and glowered at her furiously.Nek squeezed her hand. “Your body. Your choice. Your choices were removed for years. Do not let her wailing get to you.” Nek was still reeling after finding out Furio Matrone paid their hotel stay and it was making him even more worried for Delfina’s safety. He was boldly standing at her side against everyone now. He’d brought this darkness to the family. She gave a single nod and then took the steps up to the house, “Mom. I’m really tired. Can I just go to my room, and we can do this later?”“You took her, Nek? You took her to commit such a grievous sin?”“I took her to do what was right, Aunt Tizi. You would rather your daughter be forced to endure ongoing trauma than to do what is right?”“She would have loved the child the minute they put him in her arms.”

Standing in his office with his hands jammed deep into his pockets Furio Matrone stared down at the city below. He’d been with his father in Italy when Ercole died, torn between leaving his father’s bedside where he battled cancer in Rome or flying back to pay respects to his biological father. The day Ercole died, his adoptive father demanded he stay and take care of him and to not tell his wife yet of Ercole’s passing. Severino was worried his wife would be as torn as he was over loyalties. In the end, Furio’s adoptive father took a turn for the worse the day after Ercole passed away and he was forced to stay with his mother and youngest sister while they watched their beloved father wither to nothing over the next few weeks.“Sir,” his personal assistant cleared her throat. “Your mother is on the line. She said she couldn’t get through on your cell phone, so she called the office here.”He didn’t even turn around, “she couldn’t reach me on the phone, Trish, because I shut it off a

It was before opening in the restaurant when Delfina’s father came into the kitchen with a solemn look on his face.“Now what? Are you here to do more bible readings and praying over me?” She’d been pissed off to wake up this morning to her parents both standing over her bed praying silently with hands outstretched. It was more than intrusive than anything they’d done so far. She was still angry.“Ercole’s family is back. They came before the restaurant opened hoping to talk to you. The younger man says he has questions only you can answer about a desk and a safe. I asked them to leave but they insisted on being let in. They said,” he rubbed the back of his neck, “well the mother said they have evidence you were an accomplice to some crimes which Ercole committed, and they’d take it to the police if you didn’t answer their questions.”“Fine.” She took a breath, “Dad, let them in. Put them at the long table. I’ll be there in a minute. I need you to take everything out of the oven when

Every single day unless he was out of the city for business though I can count on both hands the number of times he was away in three years. He made it a point to come home to our bed every night.”“We mean fuck him,” Perla asked with no tact at all. “Like, we had a conversation last night and we couldn’t help but wonder if maybe you collected his semen or something to –”She held the woman’s gaze, “Perla, he fucked me on a consistent basis. It had been three weeks since he’d been to the Poletti Family Restaurant and Ruggero couldn’t stop thinking of it.It wasn’t the tiramisu which he’d brought home in a restaurant sized pan and devoured in the span of four days sharing only small portions with his sisters. No. It was the woman who made the dessert who was occupying his mind. He’d been stunned when she’d plopped the phone down and Furio Matrone introduced himself. At first, he’d wondered how she’d known the man. Matrone’s father was known to be one of the most barbaric mafia leaders in the world. One rumored story he’d heard as a boy visiting Italy with his paternal grandparents, involved a tale about tourists who made the mistake of asking to speak to Severino Matrone and take photographs with him because he was some kind of internet obsession for people who thought the criminal world was a romantic daydream. He’d shot them both right in the heads with nothing more than a “you don’t deserve to say my name” and from then

Furio was the only person I ever saw your grandfather genuinely laugh with. I mean laugh. Full on, belly laugh where the two of them would laugh at things only they understood. One Year LaterDelfina woke to find fingers searching her body, a hard cock pressed against her ass and warm lips on her shoulder.“This better be my man in my bed otherwise someone is really going to get a smackdown when he gets back from Italy.” She mumbled sleepily.Furio’s warm laugh coated her skin as he pursed his lips against her skin while pushing the spaghetti straps of her short night dress down. “Hi kitten. Miss me?” His lips followed the strap down her bicep over the curve of her belly where her arm rested.“Yes.” She didn’t even bother to lie. “I thought I was dreaming of you, but I think,” she lifted her leg up and backwards over him, “my panties have been removed while I was dreaming and I’m decidedly wet. I wonder how this happened?”“Well,” he nudged her entrance, his cock sliding home in a slow movement as he snaked an arm under her body pulling her flush with him. His hand teased her nipples after pushing down the dress while his other hand gripped her hip in place.

Intertwining his fingers with hers on the leather bench, he closed his eyes and exhaled.“You look exhausted,” she whispered to him.“It has been a long day. I am effectively running two businesses completely now. With Dad gone, many of the decisions he was still weighing in on are now solely on my shoulders. Valente helps of course as my consigliere, but I am now entirely responsible for two separate billion-dollar enterprises, and it seems lately each of them are pulling me in opposite directions.”“Do you regret taking over Ercole’s business?”“Not in the least. Despite him being a massive prick to you, which I admit taints my affection for him significantly, he was my father, and he loved me unconditionally. There wasn’t a day w

  • Daring Delfina's Heart   Bathroom Sabotage

Delfina was stunned to see Caprice and Nek both in the ballroom as well as her parents when she exited the back room with Furio. They were standing in elegant clothing with Fiamme, Carma, Valente and a younger version of Carma Delfina knew was Carma’s daughter.“Why are they here?”“We’re making a statement.” He shrugged. “They are now my family. Fuck with them, any of them, and I and the entire Matrone organization will come for you. Your father is quite excited by the way for the new designs of the restaurant.” He whispered in her ear, “somehow the restaurant was insured for two million dollars so he’s getting you and your mother your dream kitchens.”She looked up to him in surprise, her lips curling when she knew damn well the restaurant wasn’t insured so much for fire damage, “our dream kitchen?”“Yes. Your mother is struggling with the notion of you living apart from her. How would you feel to continue to work in the newly refurbished family restaurant but in a house of our own?

They followed at a discrete distance as Ambra was escorted from the ballroom through a back entrance. Delfina was trying not to laugh as the other woman kept shooting wide-eyed glances over her shoulder trying to figure out how Delfina knew Furio.“Should I let Carma know where we’re going?”“Valente is with her. I’m sure in about ten minutes he’ll have her in a coat closet somewhere.”She giggled at his words and her laugh carried to Ambra who looked back even more alarmed.“Do you really think she’s not pretty?” Delfina asked Furio about his earlier comment.“Look at her. One of her eyes is bigger than the other just a fraction and her nose is slightly off center. Plastic surgery can’t fix the placement of her nose, despite her having it straightened when she was a teenager. It’s to the left and each time I look at her face I can’t help but wonder if her mother fell on her stomach when pregnant and it altered her features like a Picasso.”She wrinkled her nose, “that was very in-dep

Delfina stared at the man approaching. Her eyes raking him from head to toe and back again. Decked out in a tuxedo which hugged every ridge and muscle of his body, a body which after the past six days she was incredibly familiar with. His thick black hair was twisted in a bun at the back of his head, and it was shiny and glossy, and she fought the urge to tug it from its restraints and wind it around her fists and shove him to his knees and under her dress. His raised eyebrows told her he was reading her thoughts, and she cleared her throat.Carma was at her side before they were, and she mumbled about Furio arriving too soon and being a buzzkill. She snickered at Carma’s words.“Furio. You made it.”“I’m sorry I am late to the party,” he looked at her as if she were the only one in the room.“You came to steal Delfina from me,” Carma snorted and even stomped her foot. “Don’t think I don’t see through you, big brother.”He bent down and kissed Carma’s cheek and then Delfina’s. “You bo

I told Furio I wanted her to be allowed to come.”“I know but I really hate her.”“Ditto. I kind of want to tire her up in a chair and set it on fire.” She snickered in a whisper at Carma’s excited clap, “wait for it, wait for it.”“Ruggero, you’re here.” Her eyes met Delfina’s, and her face paled drastically.“Hi Ambra.” She gave a little wiggle of her fingers.“Delfina, what are you doing here?” she cleared her throat nervously. “I didn’t know you were coming tonight.”“Why wouldn’t I be here?”“I mean,” she fidgeted as Delfina and Carma, both stared her down. “I mean, you wouldn’t normally come to such things, would you? Ruggero said he wasn’t bringing a date. You’re only a pastry chef who works in your parents’ restaurant. This is a touch more extravagant

Carma was still at the bar, chatting with two very handsome men. The woman was really embracing her newly widowed status, despite Valente’s order she was now his. She finally met the gaze of one of her guards and they immediately moved closer to her.“I tried to call you,” he said cutting into her thoughts. She turned and gave him an annoyed glance, “I’m aware.”“Can we talk?”“Ruggero,” Ernestina looked at him curiously. “What’s going on?”He ignored his sister, “Delfina, please. Delfina snuggled into the firm chest under her cheek and slowly woke from the best dreams of her life. Long fingers were playing with her hair, trailing it over her shoulder and then lifting it back up.“Good morning,” she whispered as she lifted her head to meet Furio’s eyes.“Good morning.”“What are you thinking about with such a serious expression, so early in the morning?” she could tell from months of early mornings it was close to her normal waking hours. It couldn’t be four-thirty yet, she was certain of it. The bright light from an unlocked phone on the nightstand the only source of light in the room told her she wasn’t the only one wide awake. “Did someone call?”He sighed and tugged her closer, “I have never been so full of regret for not shooting someone in the head as much as I am this morning about not killing Vellucci on Thursday in the dress shop.” He lifted another handful of her hair and watched it flow through his fingers, “my reluctance allowed that bitch to move f
