DAPHINE POV

The wolves moved in slowly, surrounding us in a wide circle. The Alpha stood in front of me, her body tense and ready for battle. I stood behind her, my heart pounding in my chest. I had never been in a situation like this before, and I wasn't sure what to do. I felt a warm, wet nose nudge my hand, and I looked down to see the pup looking up at me. He looked scared, but he was trying to be brave. I reached down and stroked his head, trying to give him some comfort.

The lead wolf stepped forward, its eyes fixed on the Alpha. It let out a low, menacing growl, and I could feel the hair on the back of my neck standing up. The Alpha didn't back down, standing her ground and growling back. The two wolves were locked in a standoff, neither one willing to make the first move. Then, without warning, the lead wolf lunged forward. The Alpha met its attack head-on, the two of them snarling and snapping at each other.
