“That you two would be here today,” Mr. Erik said with a hearty laugh as he placed a hand on his wife’s shoulder. She returned the gesture with a warm smile, her eyes lighting up with genuine delight.“It’s been too long since we’ve had a chance to sit like this,” she added, her voice soft but cheerful.Lena mirrored their smiles, her eyes briefly meeting Mr. Erik’s before turning to Max. “It’s a rare occasion,” she said sweetly, tilting her head slightly toward him.Max, however, remained silent. His expression was unreadable as he glanced at Lena and then at Mr. Erik. His gaze lingered for a moment before he shook his head.“Yeah, so like I was saying,” Mr. Erik began, his tone cheerful as he leaned forward slightly. “I’ve arranged for a one month getaway to the Maldives for your honeymoon.”Kristen froze near the door, her heart pounding as she overheard them. She stared at the door as though she could see them through it.“I want you both to have some quiet time somewhere beautiful
Running through the street, everything was dark. No one was outside, as though the whole world had disappeared. Kristen ran, then paused and looked back to catch her breath. She crouched down with her knees almost touching the ground while glancing around..."How do I get out of here?" she whispered as she realized she was completely lost. Her chest rose and fell as she wiped the sweat from her face. The growl of a motorbike shattered the stillness, getting louder with every second. Kristen’s head snapped toward the noise, her eyes widening in panic as a bright headlight sliced through the darkness, heading straight for her.Her body froze for a moment before instinct kicked in. She stumbled backward, her breaths quick and shallow. Then she saw it.....a glint of metal in the rider's hand. A gun. Her heart nearly stopped.“No, no, no…” she muttered, spinning on her heels and started into a fast ran..The motorbike roared behind her, its sound like a predator closing in on its prey. Kri
Max gently laid her on the bed. Her face was pale, and her breathing was shallow. Mrs. Sophia rushed into the room as she quickly fixed her robe.“What happened to her?” she asked with a trembling voice.“She fainted,” Max replied curtly as he adjusted the pillows beneath Kristen’s head.“Oh, my goodness, poor thing,” Mrs. Sophia said, moving closer to the bed. She placed a hand on Kristen’s forehead and gasped. “Gracious Lord, she has a fever!” she exclaimed. “I need to bring something to lower her temperature.” Without waiting, she hurried out of the room.Unnoticed, Lena stood just outside the door, peeking in. When she saw Mrs. Sophia coming, she quickly stepped back to avoid being caught. Once the coast was clear, she moved to stand in front of the door, glaring furiously at the scene inside. Her eyes darted between Kristen lying on the bed and Max standing beside her.She clenched her fists as she glared at them furiously.Lena stormed into the room and marched straight to Max,
Max returned home late looking exhausted. As he headed to his library, he paused at Kristen's door. After a brief hesitation, he slowly turned the handle and pushed the creaky door open.Kristen lay still on the bed, her face slightly pale. Max walked in quietly, his gaze lingering on her peaceful face. He sat beside her and observed her face. After a while, he gently placed a hand on her forehead to check her temperature, his brows knitting with concern. He moved his hand in front of her nose to feel her breath. When he wasn’t sure, he leaned closer and rested his head lightly on her chest to listen for a heartbeat.Suddenly, Kristen’s eyes fluttered open without him noticing. She blinked as if waking from a long dream. Seeing Max’s head near her chest and his hand still resting there, her confusion quickly turned to panic..“What are you trying to do, you killer!” she gasped, her voice shaking with anger and fear. With a burst of strength, she shoved his hand away and sat up, her bac
“At least say something,” Kristen said as she dragged herself to follow him.“Miss Kristen, I was instructed to ensure you boarded this flight. All your questions will be answered once you arrive,” Mr. Green said, finally stopping near the check-in counters and turning to face her.Kristen’s heart raced as she searched his face for any hint of explanation but found none. Reluctantly, she glanced at the bustling airport around her and muttered under her breath, “Is Mr. Anderson behind this? Has he finally decided to throw me somewhere far away from this world?”Mr. Green gave her a reassuring nod. “Have a safe flight, Miss Kristen. Enjoy yourself,” he said with a slight bow.Kristen mirrored his gesture, bowing lightly. She watched him step aside, his sharp eyes now fixed on her, as if ensuring she wouldn’t make a run for it.The boarding announcement echoed through the terminal, and Mr. Green subtly signaled her to proceed. Kristen sighed, nodded in acknowledgment, and turned to walk t
SpainLena posed confidently as the photographer clicked the photos, capturing her with the brand's latest products. She held the items delicately, wearing her signature smile, as she knew exactly how to pose for the camera.“That’s a wrap!” the director called out as he clapped his hands.Lena smiled brightly, tossing her hair over her shoulder as the crew began packing up. Her assistant hurried over, holding out her ringing phone. She glanced at the screen, rolled her eyes, and muttered, “Not now,” before grabbing the phone. Without another word, she strutted off toward the washroom...Once inside, Lena quickly checked over her shoulder to ensure no one had followed her. She closed the door.. locked it, and turned the tap on, letting the water run. Holding her phone with both hands, she leaned in close, her face just inches from the screen as she dialled a number.“I told you not to call me,” she snapped.A man’s voice responded on the other end, too muffled to make out clearly.“Do
He clutched his stomach, doubling over in agony as he stumbled forward. His breaths came in short gasps as he pushed the door open.Still hunched over, he fumbled to lock the door behind him before dragging himself further inside. He stumbled toward the bed with visible effort and let himself fall heavily onto it. His body sank into the mattress as he clutched his wrists. He used his free hand to pull off the mask from his face, revealing his swollen features and a trail of blood slipping down his cheek. His teeth clenched as a sharp hiss escaped, anger simmering beneath the pain.Grabbing at his shirt, he yanked it off, exposing bruises and marks scattered across his skin. Each movement made breathing harder, his chest heaving unevenly.Without wasting a second, he stumbled into the washroom and turned the faucet on. The cool water mixed with the blood on his face, trickling down in streaks as he splashed it repeatedly over his skin.He looked at his reflection in the mirror. His chee
Mr Green stood confidently at the front of the room, a pointer in his hand, as he tapped the screen displaying a series of flowcharts and diagrams.“And here is the plan...” he said, slightly smiling as he took charge. He paused dramatically, scanning the room as if daring anyone to interrupt.“If the first plan doesn’t go as expected, we’ll be forced to move to the second... or even the third.”He clicked the remote, and the screen shifted to a more complex set of projections. The room was silent except for the faint hum of the projector, and all eyes were on the screen.“Our success depends on precision. Any mistakes will cost us more than just time,” he added, shifting his gaze toward everyone. One of the employees hesitated before raising their hand slightly.“Sir, don’t you think Plan C might..”“Plan C is the last resort. We focus on Plan A and execute it perfectly. Understood?” Mr. Green interrupted curtly. The employee quickly nodded, sinking back into their seat.“Good. Then I
Here, put this on,” Max said after 20 minutes in the store.Kristen looked at him clearly unimpressed.Max sighed and crouched down without another word. He grabbed her ankle and tried to force her foot inside the slipper.Kristen yelped. “Hey! I can do it myself!”He ignored her and pushed her foot further in...only to realize it didn’t fit.Silence...Kristen stared at him... then at the slipper. Max exhaled sharply.“This doesn’t fit me,” Kristen muttered.Max closed his eyes for a second before standing up Kristen looked at him with amusement "You were so confident a minute ago," she teased.Max shot her a look. "Do you want shoes or not?"She sighed dramatically but followed him back inside. "Fine, but this time, let me pick."Max smirked. "As long as we don’t spend another twenty minutes deciding."Kristen rolled her eyes. "No promises."They went inside and Max brought another pair of shoes to her as she met him in the aisle.“How about this?” he said as he went down to try put
He sat comfortably in a temporary office he set up for this business trip… wearing a crisp white shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up… His fingers absentmindedly twirled a silver pen as he tapped against the desk. His iPad screen split open… with one side showing the documents he reviewed..., his sharp eyes scanning every word. On the other side, his mind wandered off as muted images of Kristen emerged like distant memories."I was trying to save you, you ungrateful jerk," Kristen said.Cut to another memory.....Kristen glared at him with fiery eyes, arguing as her lips trembled while she held back words she refused to utter…Max exhaled sharply and blinked back to reality. He straightened the paper in front of him but found himself reading the same line over and over again."What the hell…" He shook his head and leaned back with an annoyed sigh.He threw the pen onto the desk as he rubbed his temple. He closed his eyes for a second… and that happened to be a big mistake.Flashes
What is it that he has that will bring us down? Mr. Valtor said as he flipped through files in his old office with his heart rising.A knock on the door pulled him from his haste, and he stood still."Come in," he said. The door opened and a lady stepped in.....holding a different batch of files in her hands."Sir, these are the reports you requested.""Leave them on the desk," Mr. Valtor exhaled and said.Immediately after the lady left, he rushed to it and flipped through the pages with intense speed."Where is it?" he said, brushing his hair as he looked furious. After not finding anything, he groaned and pushed all the files onto the floor."What exactly was he talking about?" Mr. Valtor said as he removed his glasses, placed them on the table, and started fuming."I know what Creed is capable of," he said….…DubaiKristen slowly opened her eyes while stretching her arms across the bed. As she realized she was no longer on the couch, she sat up quickly.“How did I end up here?” sh
He banged the door shut and within a second, he returned with a towel. Without even looking at her, he threw it at her and muttered, “Dry yourself off before you catch a cold.”Kristen caught the towel but glared at him. “You’re calling me reckless? You were the one acting like you had a death wish! I thought you were drowning, you ungrateful jerk!” she snapped.Max stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. “I don’t need you to save me,” he said coldly.“Well, maybe I don’t need you either,” Kristen retorted. “You should have left me to die there since that’s what you want for me.”Max shook his head. “I won’t leave you to have a peaceful death either. I’ll make sure you have a slow, painful one when I discover your true self.”Their eyes met, both breathing hard. Max’s jaw tightened before he turned away abruptly. “Next time, mind your own damn business,” he muttered, walking inside with a dripping wet body.He stormed into the washroom, quickly showered, and dried himself off. California“I didn’t spare whoever it was, ma’am. I showed where the power lies, and you don’t....” Mrs Sophia said on the phone as she continued to rant.“Hello… hello… hello… Mrs. Lena? Hello? Oh, I guess the network in Spain is that bad,” Mrs Sophia said as she hung up the call. She placed the phone back in its book. She had a bruise on her forehead and, right after the call, went to continue doing the laundry........SpainLena’s heart pounded as she held the phone in her hands, her eyes wide open.“How did this even happen? Where is Kristen? Did Max get rid of her after I left?” she said as she wondered. She sank back into the plush hotel couch, still holding onto her phone tightly. Her hands trembled as she scrolled through her messages.“I hope Max has finally done what he’s supposed to do. Sent her far away from us........What if she tells him everything…” Lena muttered as her mood suddenly changed for the worse.Quickly, she tapped on her phone and began dialling Max’s number
