Chapter 7

Vivian got out of the house wearing a mini pink skirt and a crop white top with a butterfly picture on it, her long sliver necklace dangled on her chest and her white high-heel hit the stone floor on every step she make.

“Marcus!” She called out as soon as she dashed out of the door and Marcus who had been waiting out for her turned and a huge smile spread through his lips as he accessed her.

“Oh, my baby really knows how to dress sexy for me!” He quickly grabbed her in an embrace and kissed her lips so passionately that she was almost out of breath.

Vivian leaned back and chuckled softly as she glanced at the building towards her parent’s window. “We better get out of here, my dad really won’t want me hanging out with you.” She told him with a frown on her face.

“What does that old man knows?” Marcus grunt and Vivian rolled her eyes.

“He really knows nothing, honestly.” She rose to her tiptoe and kissed his lips since he was taller than she was and he wrapped his arms around her thin waist.

“Why don’t you come over to my house let’s make this hotter.” He held her chin and licked her face.

“Come on, you horny bastard.” She chuckled hitting him on his chest softly. “Let’s grab lunch first, then I will think about getting all nasty-nasty on your bed.” She said softly and grabbed the key’s he held and ran towards his car.

Marcus chuckled already loving the idea of being naked under the covers with her, he turned around. “Don’t go without me, baby!” He said and rushed after her.

Katherine shut her window after seeing the whole scene of Vivian kissing that guy without fear or shame that someone might see them.

She drew a sharp breath and sat down on the chair next to her desk, she slowly drew open the drawer and picked out a small picture frame.

It’s great to kiss someone.

”I wished I had done it with you, Carlos.” She softly touched the image of the guy who she stood next to in the picture, they were both teens as at that time, she was fifteen to be precise.

But you are the one who got away.

She furrowed her brows and drew a sharp sigh, she had lost contact with him since then and they were so close, he doesn’t even know she lost her parents, he doesn’t knows she was alone and was about to be sold off.

She sniffled and smacked her lips. “If I had moved to your apartment with your parents, I don’t think I would be hated like this.” She swallowed hard, her thoughts turning back to how she had had fun at Carlos parent’s apartment and they had been kind to her.

A knock came at her door and she glanced towards the door. “I don’t care if you are crying, I’m coming in.” A voice came from outside and before she could respond, the door was pushed open.

“Celeb,” Katherine called out and he walked towards her.

“I don’t want you thinking about that, I have been waiting outside and I couldn’t bear to see you cry, so---“

“I wasn’t crying.” Katherine told him before he could finish.

Celeb paused and scrutinized her face. “Well, you definitely cried.” He said with a nod and Katherine chuckled and he breathe a sigh of relief, then his eyes darted to the picture she held. “Wow, who is this handsome guy?” His eyes dilated.

“Oh,” Katherine had forgotten to put the picture back in the drawer and she didn’t want Celeb to see it, but it was too late now. “That’s my friend.” She said softly. “He is Italian.” She grinned and Celeb glanced at her face.

“You like him?” He raised the left corner of his brows curiously.

“No, I don’t.” Katherine said immediately, but she watched Celeb tilt his head and made a face. “Well, he doesn’t like me---“

“You don’t know for sure, confess your feelings to him, be bold about you, and he is so damn handsome, so---“

“I lost contact with him.” She said and Celeb pursed his lips, she slowly glanced at his picture. “This was the last picture I took with him.” She softly said and looked up at Celeb who was listening.

“Oh, high school love I guess.” Celeb wiggled his brows softly with a smile on his face, but there was none on Katherine’s face.

“He was my best friend, a transferred student, and his parents had business to do business here, they moved after graduation, and that was when I lost contact with him, he didn’t call anymore and his number never went through.” She shrugged.

“He probably doesn’t like me anymore.” Katherine put the picture into the drawer and turned to Celeb.

“Don’t say that, you don’t know for sure and who wouldn’t love you.” He said with a cheeky smile, and Katherine tilt her head.

“Your mother and sister doesn’t like me.” Katherine told him and he drew a sharp breath and shook his head.

“You are right, they don’t.” He sat on the sofa next to her and looked at her worried face. “You don’t have to get married, I am sure my father would talk to her and make her stop—“

“Then tell me the reason I am getting married to a man that I know nothing about and I am told it is next week,” Katherine drew a sharp breath, everything about what they had said down there was still confusing to her.

“If your mother doesn’t love me, she can just make me leave instead, I know it would be hard on her too, but telling me to get married…” Katherine heaved a sigh.

“Katherine,” Celeb called out softly and she raised her gaze to meet his. “My mom has no right to tell you to get married to a stranger, moreover, Vivian should be the one getting married and not your---“

“She also doesn’t have to get married to someone she doesn’t love.” She interrupted him. “I saw Vivian running to another man and they look like they are both into each other, it’s not right to force her to get married to a man she doesn’t even know.”

“Why are you looking out for that  loser who doesn’t care of others feelings?” Celeb frowned. “You don’t know the whole story and that guy she goes out with doesn’t look like he has a future with her, all they do is go to club parties, kiss each other in public and have sex all the time they hang out, she should be forced to get married to a man who she doesn’t know than be with that asshole.”

Katherine hadn’t seen Celeb angry before, but now she could see his tone had change, his eyes were dark and his brows slightly lowered a together, only that she didn’t know why her brother would say such a thing about his sister when he should be protecting her.

“Celeb---“

“We were in that situation, thanks to Vivian,” Celeb cuts in, his thoughts turning back to the past he tried so hard to block. “Vivian was the reason my father’s company went bankrupt.” He told her and Katherine’s eyes dilated.

Celeb ran his hand through his head and got to his feet, thinking about the past would only get him pissed, he didn’t want to get Katherine involve in his family problems, she had gone through a lot and he wouldn’t want his mother to push her into a marriage like that.

“You didn’t do anything wrong Katherine, and my dad will convince mom not to push you into that marriage, so you should rest now.” He told her and walked to the door. “See you later.” He said and left.

Katherine’s lips parted, she still had a lot of question, but no one was willing to answer them, rather more secrets were being exposed and she knew she had angered Celeb get him talking, obviously what she saw in his expression today.

I really don’t know what is happening here, but I definitely know I have to find a job and move out before I get sold off!

Katherine quickly pulled open her laptop and began searching for a job with a good pay, better convince Rita and this family that she wouldn’t be a liability.
