Chapter 6: Shattered Reflections

""I'm so sorry," she stammered, her heart racing. She turned to see him striding toward her, his face filled with fury. The room seemed to close in around her, the walls shrinking as his towering presence approached.

He stopped just inches away, his breath hot and rapid. "This is the only picture I have of my mother," he said, his voice low and menacing. His eyes, dark with rage, bored into hers. "What are you going to do about this?"

She took a step back, her mind whirling at what she had just done. The broken frame and the torn photograph lay on the floor between them, a silent testament to her mistake. "I'm so sorry," she repeated, her voice trembling. She took another step back and stumbled onto the bed, her eyes never leaving his. The mattress creaked under her weight, adding to the tension that crackled in the air.
