Nikolaj eyed her for a long time where Belle realized how the man’s eyes lingered over her face before he spoke, “I think beside us she’s the most confused.”

She nodded and looked at Leon, the source of her answer, “What happened?”

“You don’t remember but you fainted,” answered Leon. “When I found you, you were lying on the floor unconscious on your way to your room.”

Leon frowned how Belle didn’t remember. Last afternoon was the time when Belle had just finished reading her books. She would take walks in the afternoon alone and he would always silently put his eyes on her until she walked back to her room. As she ascended to the staircase that was when her eyes had suddenly black out and she fell backward to his embrace.

When he thought how badly she could be injured without his help, Leon’s jaw ticked and his anger raise.

“I thought you should wake up but I smell something odd from you, like a scent, I couldn’t tell what it is but it was a sour scent that didn’t sit well with me,”
