~FIVE~

Change of POV

It's already late in the evening when I open  my eyes and scan the environment around me,I really slept like a baby,when I check on time,I'm not  surprised that it's already 6pm ,I slept for almost 5hours, Maya should be here any minute from now so I need to freshen up and start preparing supper before she arrives.

Once in done in the shower, I dry my hair and put on my denim shorts with a tank top , flip in my sandals and head for the kitchen.

By the time Maya arrives at around 7:30 I'm done with the meat and vegetable,it's just making the ugali .

"Hey girl, how're you this evening", Maya says as she gives me a side hug.

"I'm good, you're late today what happened",I ask her

"Traffic,you know it's approaching the night so traffic is something you wouldn't want to experience when you're this tired and famished", she says as she removes a can of yogurt from the fridges and drinks.

"How did the interview go by the way ,that was the first question I should've asked before I even entered the house",she continues.

"You're so funny how could you have asked when you're still outside?,anyways just like any normal  interview,I'm just hoping I get that chance,in tired dropping CVS and application letters in various companies",I sadly say.

"Don't worry, God's in control of everything,I believe this time he won't let you down,anyway Lem freshen up before I join you for supper",she says.

By the time I'm in bed this evening I'm so tired . We've been laughing with Maya at her own jokes and funny stories, as I drift off to sleep,the last thing I ask  God is to help me get that job.

I'm still sleeping when I hear Maya talking,it's almost seven in the morning.

"Morning Nicky?I prepared some breakfast when you're ready you can just warm it up,I'm heading to work,have a good day"

"Morning too", I grumble,I'm still sleepy ,I need to sleep but I can't I had plans for today so I just have to wake my lazy ass up and start off my day.

"And by the way I can see we running out of groceries,can you pass by the store today,I might come home late", Maya says

"Sure yes,I will,have a great day,today I'll do some cleaning in the house",I say

Once Maya is gone I decide to finally wake up,I head for the showers once I'm done ,I choose a random sweat pant and a T-shirt it's not like I'll be heading out any time soon I have a lot to do before I go to the stores to grab some groceries.

I head to the kitchen once I'm done with my breakfast ,I wash all the utensils,clean the kitchen counter and scrub the floor once I'm satisfied it's sparkling clean ,I decide to do some cleaning in the living room and the other rooms.

While still in my own room cleaning,my phone rings, I check on the caller ID it's unknown number. I don't like taking unknown callers but for this I just press the accept button and place the phone carefully on my ear as I continue dusting off my shoes.

A female voice comes through and I guess I've heard it somewhere though I don't remember where exactly.

"Hello I'm I talking to Nicole Alison?", The caller says,my heart starts to beat,who could this be and she happens to know my full names?

"Hello ,yes I'm Nicole Alison ,how may I help you?"

"I'm Amanda ,one of the interviewers from yesterday's interview ,I'm calling you from PARKER DRAPERS LIMITED COMPANY,I just wanted to inform you that you were selected for the HR position and you're expected to report to work tomorrow at 8am",she says

For the first time I'm holding that phone I lack words to express my excitement,I mean I was just lucky to get myself a job.

"Thank you", I say and with that she hangs up.

I'm still staring at the ceiling Wondering if I'm dreaming or it's the reality.

After composing myself I decide to give Maya a call and tell her the good news ,she's the only family I have,so I go to the speed dial and press her number,it rings once and on the second ring she picks up.

"Hey girl?already missing me or you bored in the house?", Maya asks. Actually Maya is always  in a good mood and she's always jovial.

"You wish ", I laugh heartily at her,"relax I just got  a phone call from the company I attended an interview yesterday and guess what?

"Tell me what happened",Maya asks anxiously

"What happened of course I landed myself a job at the company,I was just called a few minutes a go and was told I should report to work early tomorrow morning,girl I'm so happy ", I say excitedly.

"Yaaaaay! I told you God is in control of everything and he's the master planner, I'm so happy happy for you Nicole, we're gonna have a toast for that,I'm coming home with champagne we're gonna celebrate, and on Friday  we gonna party", Maya shrieks

"Thanks Maya for the advise and the consistent hopeful words",I say

"Don't worry my dear you know I got you,I gotta do something ,we shall talk in the evening once I'm back at home,bye I love you",Maya says

"Bye", I say

Once I hang up, I put my phone back on my dress table and mumble a short silent prayer to God to thank Him for the great wonders He's done in my life.

I finish up cleaning and I wash all the clothes and hang them up on the hanging line. It's already 2pm after I'm done with cleaning. I prepare myself some lunch and change my clothes and head to the stores to buy some groceries.

My day ends in a good mood. When Maya  comes back in the evening we toast for my new job and promise to go out on Friday and enjoy ourselves.

I've already made up my mind on what clothes I'll put in tomorrow,I'm so eager to start working, as I drift off to sleep I already set my alarm to wake me up at 6:30am.
