EIGHTY TWO

It's white, has a strong carbolic smell, and is very boring. There was no interesting sight in the room other than the blue curtains that occasionally swayed because of the wind blowing from the air conditioner. Everything seemed very quiet in the room. Even Hazel thought she could hear her own breathing and the constant beating of her heart. She was alone in her treatment room. Everyone has gone home to move on with their own lives. And she was left alone here in silence.

Catherine had been with her long enough today. All morning until noon they exchanged whatever stories they could until their lips were dry and tired. Then at one o'clock she said goodbye because she had to pick up the girls at school.

Shortly after Catherine left, Mrs Eden trotted into Hazel's nursery. Her face was pale when she saw her. From time to time Mrs. Eden held her face, head, hands and shoulders to make sure she was okay. She said she didn't know anything about the accident that happened
