Emberlyn is embarrassed the moment the voice says that to her and this forces her to clench her fists tight.

"I am never going to get to know him."

"Why? In what specific way has he wronged you? His only action against you since the beginning has been to get to know you. Why are you acting so foolishly and stubbornly about him since he has not harmed you in any way?" She is forced to grit her teeth in response to the voice's question.

"I would appreciate it if you could get out of my head. You have no right to select who I interact with and meet up with."

She is startled out of her dialogue with her inner voice when she feels Xander's hand abruptly seize control of her shoulders. He looks at her, an eyebrow raised, and she looks at him.

"Are you alright? You appear to have been deep in concentration there for quite some time. What is on your mind? " Emberlyn feels so helpless with that serene, compassionate look on his face.
