Sean offered me water immediately and I gulped down the entire content.
I couldn't believe my ears. But seriously, how could my father just suggest something like this without telling me? Well, he can since he doesn't know that I'm in love with his best friend. "Are you alright?" Sean asked me and I nodded in response. I couldn't find my voice hence the nod. "Are you sure you're fine?" Sean asked me and I managed to say something. "Yes, I'm fine." I said to him with a smile. I turned to face Esmeralda who didn't even care that I was choking. I frowned at her, unnoticeably of course, but she didn't even seem to be paying attention to me. We finished the rest of our meal in silence and I got up soon afterwards. "I have to go." I said to Sean who smiled at me and nodded. "Thanks for the meal, it was delicious." I said to Sean once again. "Bye." I tried to say to Esmeralda who simply shrugged at me. I turned and left the restaurant, walking all the way back to my office, since it wasn't far away and I needed to digest my food anyways. Once I got into the building, I took the elevator back to my office. I plopped down on my swivel chair and my mind drifted off to what Sean had told me earlier. My father asked him if I could stay with him. Would I call that an opportunity or what? Thinking about how I would get to see Sean when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed had me blushing real bad. My face was totally red and I almost squealed. However, I heard a knock on my door and I tried to compose myself. "Come in." I said and the person stepped into my office. It was someone whom I couldn't recognize, well, since I'm new and all. "You must be Ava." He said to me once he was inside my office and I raised my brows in confusion. "Yes, I'm Ava Bennett and you are?" I asked because I was confused as to why a total stranger would just show up in my office ask me what my name is. "I came here during break but you weren't here." He declared and I frowned. Why would be at my office during break? We don't even know each other. I sighed softly and continued to stare at him as I had nothing to say to him. "I'm Dylan by the way." He finally introduced himself but I didn't care at this point. "Nice to meet you Ava, I'll see you around, I have to get back to work right now." Dylan said before turning and leaving my office. I sighed heavily in confusion. What just happened? Did I just get myself acquainted with a weirdo? I sighed heavily and decided to continue with my work. I don't want to get distracted when it's just my first day here. I want to make a good first impression. The day ended before I knew it and I packed my bags, ready to leave. Once I was done, I stepped out of my office and walked towards the elevator. There, I met that guy from earlier. Dylan, was it? I tried to avoid him but the lady that stood beside me soon noticed me. I don't know how she knew my name but I'm guessing that Dylan guy must have told her. "You must be Ava right?" She said with a high pitched voice and I couldn't help but feel irritated. "Yes." I answered nevertheless. "Nice to meet you, I'm Tiffany." She said as she extended her hands for a handshake. And in that moment, the elevator opened and I stepped in, ignoring the hands that she had extended to me. "Oh, the elevator." She didn't seem offended by what I had done. Instead, she stepped inside along with Dylan from earlier who was only watching our interactions. "So, Dylan and I are going for drinks after work, do you to join us?" She asked me. "Oh, I won't be able to, I'm new in town so I have a lot of stuffs to do." I lied while smiling so that she wouldn't notice. "Do you need help with packing?" She asked again. "Dylan and I can help with that." She said and I tried to maintain my smile so as to not look utterly pissed off like I actually was. "No thankyou, I already have someone who will help me with that." I answered her and as if on cue, the elevator doors opened and I sprinted out of it. Walking really fast towards the big doors of the building. Once I was out, I flagged down a taxi and got inside. I told him where I was going to and he drove me straight to the hotel where I was currently staying. I paid for the fare and got out of the taxi, walking straight to the elevator that took me to my hotel room. Once I was inside, I sat on my bed with plop as I tried to register what had happened today. Not with my creepy coworker but with Sean Frazer. My first love. My current love. Would I call this fate or destiny? How is possible that the man of my dreams wants me to come and live with him? Well, technically, my parents were the ones who asked him but don't try to change my delusions. I giggled to myself as I thought about the benefits of staying with Sean. Not only will I get to see him day and night, I might even get to see him... I wasn't able to complete that thought because I heard a beep from my phone. I picked it up to look at it and I could see that I had one new message. I opened it and I smiled once I saw who was texting me. The message read- "Hi, this is Sean, I got your number from your dad, I'll come over to pick you up during the weekend, I'm sure you wouldn't like to move on a weekday, with work and all that." "Sleep tight." My heart felt full as I read the message that Sean had just sent me. I read it over and over again until I fell asleep. The weekend came soon enough and Sean came to get me from the hotel where I was staying. My bags were already packed and I was ready to leave. I've been waiting for this day all week.I was excited. I'm not familiar with New York city but the moment we got to Sean's neighborhood, I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that I was in a rich neighborhood.Everywhere looked amazing. Finally, we arrived at Sean's house and he helped me bring my bags out of the trunk. He also helped me wheel them into the house while I followed him with a smile on my face. I was overexcited to be in his home. When we got to the living room, I marveled at the sight of it. It was beautiful. However, we were soon interrupted by Esmeralda who seemed shocked to see us inside the house. "What are you doing here?" Sean's tone suddenly changed. I stood there, watching their interaction with one another and I couldn't help but notice that something was off or was I reading too much into it?"Esmeralda.." Sean
It's been a few days since I've been staying in Sean's mansion. After that night with Sean, I've not been able to stop thinking about him. The way his arms felt around my waist. The smell of his cologne. The warmth of his breath on my neck.I couldn't stop thinking about it. It was doing things to me.Things that I never knew that I could feel.Simply watching him alone got me thinking dirty thoughts and I wished we had gone far that night. But the sad thing about all of this was that he didn't remember.Or was he pretending not to?Was he embarrassed by what he had done?Because if he was, I don't want him to be. I would give him my all if he ever demands for it. "Are you going to work now?" Sean asked, jolting me from my reverie."Yes, I am." I answered and looked away from him. We were currently having a breakfast of toast and bacons and yet looking at him, made the food naughty. "Should I drop you off?" He asked and I gulped down my drink. "No, I'm sure I can take a cab.
AVA'S POINT OF VIEWI was currently on my way to work. I flagged down a taxi and got in. It's my first day at work so I want to make a good first impression. Although I've been in New York city for about a week now, I've not resumed work fully. Today's the D-Day. The day I become a fully independent young woman. My phone rang loudly, jolting me from my thoughts. I brought my phone out from my pocket and it's no other person than my mother. "Hello." I said as I picked up the call. "Ava, are you sure you want to work there?" My mother asked as soon as the call went through. She has been trying to convince me to come back home. Despite the fact that she and my father had given me their full approval on coming here to New York city to work, they've not stopped trying to convince me to come back home. And I've only been here for a week. I guess that's the burden that comes with being an only child. Don't get me wrong, I love being an only child but sometimes I wonder what it w
I watched Sean's wife walk towards us and I could see the way his eyes brightened the moment he saw her. For a moment there, I wished it was me that he was looking at with all that admiration but I knew it was wrong so I immediately tried to get the thoughts out of my head. "Sean honey, I was waiting for you in the car, you said you just wanted to see someone." She said to him before turning to look at me. "Good afternoon." I greeted her, the butterflies in my stomach had died down and I could have sworn that all I could feel was my heart clenching. "Who is she?" She asked as she continued to stare at me. "Esmeralda, this is Ava, don't you remember her?" He said to her and she frowned as if she was trying to remember who I was. "My best friend's little girl." Sean said to her once again and I sighed heavily. The moment he said the word - little girl, I felt a pang in my chest. I guess that's how he sees me.To him, I'm just a little girl. I tried to hide the sadness in my hea
