Chapter sixty one

Zirah's POV

The news Erica dropped on me rocked my work if I was honest, but then it answered a lot of my unspoken questions.

But at least there was a bright side to it, I don't know but she managed to convince Damon or whoever was taking care of my kids when I wasn't there to let me see them more.

And today, I'm sitting on the floor playing with them and reading to them their favorite book.

I stopped from time to time as they babbled nonsense to me, pretending to listen as if they were asking me life-changing questions, placing my hand in my chin as if deep in thought, then replying to them with a funny motion making them squeal in laughter.

A satisfied smile would come on my face every time I watched them giggle happily at every funny move or sound I make.

I closed the current book in my hands, twisting around to grab the other book when the entire building shook.

An explosion somewhere close by shook the building so much, I just looked in shock.
