LYRAEA.
I was elated when my sister said that to me. This is the news I want to hear, so it can calm my nerves. We made sure that no one was in sight, and Martha was not here to scold us for not doing our duties properly. We made sure all our surroundings were clear before we ventured back to the pack, where we had been living alone with my sister and the handsome demigod. On reaching there, I held my breath. I have always wished to know how he looked, like the color of his eyes—will they be green, silver, brown, or black? I took a step forward as I walked steadily to where he was. I noticed he was sitting on the bed; he looked down; he was shirtless, revealing his well-refined and worth-drooling body; and his six abs were evident, making me feel my cheeks burn at the intensity of the situation. He managed to look up. My breath hitched when I saw his eyes. His eyes were like the purest silver, matching his hair, but there was a peck of gold that brightened within his pupils; it was like a burning fire. I walked closer to him. I didn't want to look intimidated by his presence, but his striking features made me wish. "Hello," he greeted as he curved his lips to a genuine smile. I almost smiled. I don't know what to say because looking at him was making me breathless in a way I can't explain. He scanned the room, looking baffled. "Where am I?" "This is an old pack house at Emberfell Pack," I said, trying to look calm, but deep within, my heart was uneasy. "Oh, I see." "What is your name?" I inquired further. He pursed a little, looking saddened. "I can't remember," he said. "You mean you don't know where you came from?" I asked further. He nodded, and I felt bad for him. With that, we chatted for almost an hour, saying that I had to be called by Martha, and then he innocently volunteered to follow me to where I was summoned. I shook my head, saying no, but he insisted. I let out a sigh as I allowed him to follow me. We entered the kitchen, where other omegas were present. Immediately, there was pin-drop silence when they saw him; everyone was gawking at him. I can see the look of admiration, astonishment, and envy on their faces. "Who is this demigod?" "Where did he come from?" "How can someone be this handsome?" "His features are out of this world." These were the words that escaped the lips of the omegas and, surprisingly, Martha herself. "Who is he?" Martha asked me. "He is a hunter, so he decided to stay with me in the meantime." I lied; I didn't want to vindicate myself. Time went by. It's been five days, and he has been helping me with some of the house chores. We would talk and laugh; he always volunteered to help me; and his gaze would linger for as long as he stared intently at me. While I was in the old packhouse, I was sitting with him. He took a spoonful of food, and he suddenly stopped eating as he stared at me. "What?" "Nothing; you just have a pretty smile." When he said that, I felt my cheeks burn. He involuntarily came close to me; his eyes burned with something more intense; he nestled his hand around my neck; his gaze was very intense. I was trying so hard not to let my guard down, but his silver eyes made things a bit more uncomfortable. He shifted some strands of my hair; he was bringing his lips closer to mine. I wanted to push him, but my hands betrayed me. My mind was screaming no, but my body was yearning for his touch. He looked down at my lips, making my heart beat faster. He was nearing me, his breath fanning my skin. I closed my eyes, expecting to feel his cherry-red lips against mine. "Lyraea!" Mae called, interrupting us. I immediately adjusted myself; I was feeling so uncomfortable. I stood up. I was about to follow Mae, who just interrupted us, only to feel a very piercing and sharp pain. I let out a shrieking scream. The stranger, whose name I'm yet to know, helped me by holding my waist firmly. "Are you okay?" He asked. The pain intensified, and my wolf, who had been silent for a long time, screamed in agony as well. We were both in so much pain. I held tightly to the stranger. "Please help me, please." My eyes burned with hot tears, threatening to escape. "He...he is making love with your sister; that's why the pain is this intense," Mae told me. I looked up at her, a bit baffled, and she said, "I mean, Rhain is in bed with your sister; he knew it'd cause you both physical and mental pain, yet he still did it." Mae added with a clenched fist. The pain continued for two days; I couldn't sleep or rest without experiencing pain. It felt like the pain was getting worse as time went by, but on the third day, I felt a bit relieved. It was a cool evening. I was sitting outside, feeling my body a bit weak, but the evening breath was refreshing. That was when I heard footsteps. I turned to the location of the footsteps. I was stunned when I saw the stranger, whose name I had yet to know. He was dressed in silk clothing and matching pants that were made of cotton. He hid something behind him, and I was baffled as to what he might have hidden behind his back. He came forward as he kneeled and said, "I came to humbly ask you to be my dance mate at the dance fair that is held at the wedding, which is held this evening." He said. I grinned as I nodded. He stretched his hand out while handing me a bouquet of flowers. I felt my cheeks burn. "A beauty deserves beautiful things as well." It was quite a cheesy pickup line. I took a deep breath as I followed him. We went to the wedding, my heart racing because it felt like an eternity that I had seen so many people. I held firmly to his hand; he was such a gentleman, and he also protectively held my hand. On reaching there, there was loud music, and we danced to the tune of it. All of a sudden, he groaned more, like he was in so much pain. "Are you okay?" I sounded worried. "It's loud; it is so loud," he grimaced. We had to go far from the music, then he stopped groaning and clutching his head tightly in pain. He was staring at me in amazement. "I... I now remember my name." "What is your name?" I asked inquisitively. "Kaelos," he said.LYRAEA.When he said his name, his thoughts were a bit distant. "That's all I can remember, just my name." He sounded disappointed."Don't worry, I believe you will remember as time goes by." I encouraged him. Immediately, a smile curled on his lips, and he neared closer to me as he whispered."Care for a dance.""I can't dance," I said shyly, which was something that I hardly do, unless with someone very special to me.We went back to the wedding ceremony, and we danced to our hearts's desires. I felt myself feeling very happy for the first time.I was enjoying myself, but not until I sighted Rhain. He was watching me; his fists were clenched tightly, his brows were slightly creased, and it was clear he was angry.Thinking of the pain he had caused me, I don't know when I had managed to wrap my hands around Kaelos' neck, as I immediately locked lips with his. I knew my actions were immature, but I just wanted to forget about Rhain. I wanted to see if Rhain would feel the pain I felt.
LYRAEA.Lightening struck, the lit candles were blown out, and the room darkened. An earth-shattering thud erupted in the quiet hall. Children of the alphas, betas, gammas, and healers hid behind their parents in fear.I, on the other hand, held my husband's hand more tightly; he also seemed terrified, but he refused to show his fear. After the loud thud, it was followed by a pin-drop silence, bringing an eerie feeling into the hearts of all the people who were present in the hall.Alpha Rhain stood up boldly as he said, "You don't need to be scared; there's no cause for alarm because I believe it's just a thunderstorm. We, the Emberfell pack, are always ready to protect what is ours, so we do not need to be frightened. Continue being merry and enjoy the night."I clutched his shirt, showing my fear. I refused to be fooled into thinking that it was just a mere storm. I could still see the fear that lingered on their faces, but yet they continued chattering, laughing, and talking heart
LYRAEA.My world stumbled apart, and my heart shattered. I felt my feet weakened when those words were uttered; I was barely able to say a word when two hefty men arrived; without touching me, they managed to get a hold of me with the aid of chains. I was expecting my husband to say something or to do something, yet he was silent. His hands were knitted into a tight fist, adding to his creased brows. It was evident that he didn't like what he was doing, but I know he was torn between saving his pack or his Luna."Please wait." I urged the hefty men who were dragging me to stop dragging me, and they did."Before I leave, I want to tell Rhain that you are making the wrong decision." With that said, I was taken to the old pack house, meant for omegas.Minutes went by, followed by hours, and then my uncalled and lonely days followed suit. resulting in traumatizing weeks of pain and horror. LYRAEA.I couldn't move. I wanted to run back and alert the pack members, but something urged me to go further and know what was happening. I couldn't tell what creature was standing in front of me. The creature was covered in fur. 'Could it be a wolf like us?' I thought inwardly. But otherworldly, he looked more different than a wolf; who was this creature? The creature let out a piercing cry; it was clear it was in pain, and it fell to the ground with a loud thud. I rushed to help. Something in me is urging me to do so and telling me that I just have to. "No, don't go near that beast," Mae warned me, but I still went ahead to help the creature. My heart was beating so fast that I could feel it beating rapidly as I went closer.I looked closer; the creature that was recently covered in fur was slowly transforming into a man.My jaw dropped when I saw a man; his eyes were closed, but his long silver hair was still evident, and his lips were as red as cherries.
